What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

@SteamFunk I remember Mary, Mungo and Midge. In one episode, the mouse was posted in a letterbox an envelope. I think he wanted to see what happens to a letter when it gets posted.

When I was about 7 or 8,I watched a programme called 'Here come The Double Deckers',about a gang of kids who lived on a London double decker bus. It was my favourite TV show as a child, but anyone I've mentioned it to has never heard of it! If it wasn't for the fact that I've looked it up on the internet to confirm that it actually existed,I'd think I imagined it or dreamt it!

Loved this - Saturday mornings - always on at the same time as The Banana Splits

excelledyourself · 04/06/2023 19:45

I'm so glad people remember Greenclaws!

He used to pick and open magic pods or something off his plants.

ImpromptuGathering · 04/06/2023 19:46

When I was a kid, in the 70s, there was a children's programme featuring a hippy type woman in cheesecloth clothes who sang , I remember the theme tune:

"I've got a handful of songs to sing you
New songs and blue songs, and songs to bring you
Happiness, no more and no less..."

No one else seems to remember this ...

Rummikub · 04/06/2023 19:50

At least two of you have said Tales of the Gold Monkey! I used to adore this, age about 7. Fancied the guy off it 😂 - you can find bits of it on YouTube including the theme tune.

oh I loved this as a child too. I watched first wives club yesterday and he was in it.

I loved this show! And the theme tune.

@ImpromptuGathering

It was called “a handful of songs” ! Yes remember this fondly too. In Tesco one time (at the book swap bookcase) someone has left a record of a handful of songs. I wish I’d nabbed it!

I can hear that in my head right now, as clear as day! I’m going to have to Google it.

Rummikub · 04/06/2023 19:53

I just looked it up and my 50 year old memory had missed out a line between 1 and 2; "can't stop my voice when it longs to sing you..."

ZittiEBuoni · 04/06/2023 19:57

Handful of Songs was great, they used to ask viewers to send in pictures as backdrops for the songs. I drew loads but my mum would never send them in Sad. The Octopus's Garden was my favourite artistic inspiration.

I can remember a series called Cover Up.

Anyone else remember that?

egowise · 04/06/2023 15:59

Sharky and George! It was animated and on around 5am!

And this!

Dublincailin · 04/06/2023 19:59

@RobinHumphries

thank you. that is the series.

Radi0liverpool · 04/06/2023 19:59

What about Betty's Bunch?

Rummikub · 04/06/2023 20:00

“Our day out”.

Think everyone in Liverpool watched this. Not sure about elsewhere

Radi0liverpool · 04/06/2023 20:01

What about Teabag

Vebrithien · 04/06/2023 20:04

Knightmare.

Children's high fantasy, virtual reality adventure show, from the 90's

Filmed in a dungeon, one team member has to put on a huge helmet, which covered their eyes so they couldn't see, and would then be directed through a VR adventure challenge.

I have only met one other person in the flesh who remembers it.

Reader, I married him!

Greenpin · 04/06/2023 20:05

I loved The Double deckers and White Horses. Was scared witless by The Singing Ringing Tree. I also remember Marine boy and Seven Little Australians . Nobody else seems to have any recollection of that. It was only when I googled it that I was convinced it wasn't a figment of my imagination!
