What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

Road Dreams. Shown on C4 early 90s.
"In 1968 Elliott Bristow went to New York for a two week holiday. In 1980, after twelve years and 500,000 miles on the road in America he returned to England with three trunks containing 75 hours of silent Super 8 film - his diary of this 'holiday'!"

Not a TV programme but does anyone remember RatherGood.com from the early days of the internet?? I appear to be the only one who has ever heard anything of it 🤣 had these weirdly catch videos and songs that used to make me laugh so much (see username)! 20 years later and I still walk round singing them

Was that the kittens voiced by Elbow singing Destiny's Child?
I also remember an animation or kittens called Mittens and Snowdrop, one of whom wanted to eat the other ones brain .

Psychos. A series about a psychiatrist with bipolar disorder played by Douglas Henshall. Only 6 episodes in the first series, nominated for a BAFTA, wasn’t renewed.

lucylulululu · 04/06/2023 19:38

I also have another one I remember but can't remember the name of and no one knows what I'm on about with this one too.

What I do remember is it was kind of like a jekyll and Hyde inspired character except it was a schoolgirl and a kids tv show and she'd turn from an ordinary girl into a great big hideous girl and it was fully a costume (like the tweenies or a mascot where the head is costume as well) and it was terrifying lol she wasn't a monster I don't think she was just a giant ugly schoolgirl 😂

I hope someone else remembers this and can tell me the name 🙈🙈

Does anyone remember The cuckoo's sister?

It was about a girl who's older missing sister suddenly just turns up on the doorstep one day.

She had been snatch from her pram when she was a baby.

I loved The Cuckoo Sister! I still have my copy of the book which I bought soon after it was on TV. It has a picture from the show on the cover. I sometimes still re-read it when I'm ill as it is an easy read.

I also remember Dark Towers and The Boy from Space which someone else mentioned. The Boy from Space terrified me as a child but I loved it as well!

GalileoHumpkins · 04/06/2023 19:40

Julia Jekyll and Harriet Hyde?

I can also remember a kids series where people were been taken over by aliens though like something absorbing into them.

There is also a memory of kids which could turn into animals.

Not sure if same series.

Any of it sound familiar

Does anyone remember Tottie (I think)? It was about some dolls who lived in a dolls house, one was called Birdie and one was something like Marchpane, and Marchpane burnt Birdie to death. Baring in mind this was a show for kids, it bloody scarred me when I watched it, must have only been about 4 or 5!

Yes! I remember this so clearly - I still have a copy of the book as well with scenes from the tv show on the cover!

LexterDay · 04/06/2023 19:43

White Horses.

Zoologydragon · 04/06/2023 19:43

excelledyourself · 04/06/2023 19:43

Does anyone remember what I'm sure was an American programme, which was on late morning/early afternoon on Saturdays? It wasn't a kids show, maybe based around lawyers? Maybe not!

I can just picture the beaches and sky scrapers...

LegArmpits · 04/06/2023 19:43

At least two of you have said Tales of the Gold Monkey! I used to adore this, age about 7. Fancied the guy off it 😂 - you can find bits of it on YouTube including the theme tune.

Also remember Man O Man circa 1996/7 - Chris Tarrant hosted didn't he?!

Rathergood.com is still going I think - have a look on b3ta.com - same guy who runs Fesshole on Twitter.

My offering - Sledgehammer! - late night comedy about a hapless American detective around 1988. His catchphrase was "trust me, I know what I'm doing." Bloke who played him (David Rasche) most recently played Karl in Succession. No one knew what I was on about.

FrankieRose82 · 04/06/2023 19:44

@excelledyourself I loved green claws! He used to grow things in his green house lol
