What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

Does anyone remember Quiet as a Nun, a series based on an Antonia Fraser novel? I think I watched it in the late 70's, there was a very scary end to one of the episodes of a faceless nun which I have never forgotten. It didn't help that I had just started at a convent school at that time!

Stepupandupagain · 04/06/2023 18:20

Mine is Nick Nickleby, modern take on the Dickens classic. Has Nurse Crane from call the midwife in it. Noone I know remembers it.

Penquinoa · 04/06/2023 18:20

Omg I loved Dreamstone and had completely forgotten about it till reading this thread.
Also Watoo Watoo.
Dolly Pond and Out Of This World (I think that's what it was called).

Singing Ringing Tree yes. I heard an interview on Radio 4. Someone went to interview the Princess! She was East Garmen and hated playing a Princess!

Singing ringing tree! Only one other person I know watched this! It was the first kids show I remember.

Gingerbread Girl - a 1990s sitcom. Can't remember much else but I think it was about a girl whose parents were divorced

Century Falls - a kids show about a girl who loves to a new town and everyone's cursed or something

Next of Kin - a retired couple take in their young relatives. I think Penelope Keith was in it

Spatz - kids show about a diner

Oh, and Woof, about a boy who would randomly turn into a dog, and then when he turned back into a boy he was always naked.

I loved this!

LindorDoubleChoc · 04/06/2023 18:29

Desmond's on Channel 4. I loved that show!

Geneticsbunny · 04/06/2023 18:31

Underthemagnificentbeechtree · 04/06/2023 17:35

@Hairbrushhandle @Geneticsbunny i could have sworn they were monkeys! Did they live above a market? I thought it was Birmingham Rag Market at the time - I often visited with my Mum for her sewing projects.

My contribution to the thread is Century Falls. I have no idea what happened in it but remember it being thrilling. It’s never been repeated I don’t think.

There was a market and I think they lived with a guy with a Jamaican accent? Possibly Dave Benson Phillips although I think he was in stuff later in the 80s? I remember them more as monkey typed characters than lions.
You and me, you and me, lots for us to do and see...

boysmuminherts I'm glad that someone else remembers The Flying Doctors. I can still hear that theme tune now.

I remember The Flying Doctors! Used to air about tea time on a Saturday if I remember rightly. I was in Aus last year and visited one of the Flying Doctor bases in Alice Springs. It was really interesting.

Rub a Dub Dub - hazy memories of an early 80s cartoon

MrsR87 · 04/06/2023 18:34

And probably not obscure but Funnybones was my favourite!

Mummaluma · 04/06/2023 18:35

American Gothic.

ODFOx · 04/06/2023 18:36

Hairbrushhandle · 04/06/2023 16:19

You and me. It was a kids show that had these kind of puppet lion things, two of them.

You and me, me and you, lots and lots for us to do. Me and you, you and me, lots and lots for us to see.
Du doo, du soo, du soo, du doooooo.

Oasis used part of the song in one of their songs and everyone thought I was mad when I recognised it.

My lost show: Pogles' Wood.

Soubriquet · 04/06/2023 18:36

I’ve got Tru Calling on dvd too! I enjoy that. Pity it was cancelled

MrsR87 · 04/06/2023 18:39

We also watched something a few years ago called “blood drive” on Sci-Fi channel. It was cancelled after one series!

eleanorwish · 04/06/2023 18:43

Oh yes, American Gothic. Have fancied Gary Cole ever since,
I still remember 'There's someone at the door'. Wasn't it Sarah Paulson who played the older sister?
