Where are the rest of my crisps?!

Just opened a bag of Kettle Chips, where are the rest of them?! I think there's more bag than crisps!

Where are the rest of my crisps?!

YANBU. All we seem to pay for now is puffy gas filled pockets of plastic.
Kind of feels like a metaphor for much of modern life actually.

BarbaraofSeville · 02/06/2023 14:59

I'm just setting out the MN Bingo card.

That's a normal portion, of which you have clearly lost sight of if you think there aren't enough crisps there.

People eat too many crisps in this country. In <insert name of more enlightened country> they only have crisps at parties. No-one would ever have crisps for lunch on a weekday. I bet you had a sandwich as well, no wonder there's an obesity crisis.

I couldn't possibly eat all those crisps, I'm too full after my Massive Salad.

Eyes down, dabbers at the ready.

floradora · 02/06/2023 15:03

Technically speaking (as a qualified crisp afficionado) there has to be more bag than crisps. If there were more crisps than bag, the bag wouldn't close. You see? Then the crisps would all fall out.

RudsyFarmer · 02/06/2023 15:03

I would hazard a guess that the packet was made for a certain weight of crisps that has since diminished through shrinkflation.

BreathesOutSlowly · 02/06/2023 15:05

It's very insensitive posting a picture of crisps when some people don't have them.

I was about to have a go before I realised you were joking. Touché!

Kfjsjdbd · 02/06/2023 15:05

Can you weigh them then tell us what the weight on the bag was?! I’m overly invested in this

PriamFarrl · 02/06/2023 15:07

They are sold by weight, not volume.

The air that is in there isn’t just plain air, it is special air that keeps them fresh.

Sorry, forgot this on the bingo card.

Anewuser · 02/06/2023 15:08

@BarbaraofSeville ha, ha. Love it. Just wish I had your sense of humour.

OP, never start a thread about a small amount of food. You’ll get crucified.

Nothinglefttogiv · 02/06/2023 15:09

Most important question - What flavour?

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 02/06/2023 15:09

Thanks for making me open a bag of crisps.

dementedpixie · 02/06/2023 15:11

You now need to eat 2 packets to feel like you've had sufficient crisps.

BlueVinca · 02/06/2023 15:11

Mmm crisps 😋

Thanks for making me open a bag of crisps.

Important scientific research. How do your crisps compare to the OPs?

Your sacrifice is appreciated and as long as you have a Massive Salad for lunch every day next week, you will survive the assault of unhealthy crisp consumption you've subjected yourself to.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 02/06/2023 15:12

Op is stealth boasting she can afford to buy Kettle Chips when some people can only afford Lidl’s own brand crisps.

There’s a cost of living crisis Op and you’re just rubbing our noses. In it.

s/ for anyone not sure 😀

BlueVinca · 02/06/2023 15:12

Waiting for the tesco delivery to come and deliver crisps.

newaccountoldlurker · 02/06/2023 15:13

Youre too greedy, if that was a chicken flavour packet it would feed my family of 4 for 5 days.... just saying

ShandaLear · 02/06/2023 15:15

My DH eats crisps, but then he does cycle 500 miles a week.

notprincehamlet · 02/06/2023 15:16

I'm too full after my Massive Salad
Grin nearly choked on my alfalfa sprouts

NineOfNine · 02/06/2023 15:17

You should weigh them to see if there really are less crisps in there than there should be.

I’d upload a picture but I’ve eaten half the packet so it wouldn’t be a fair comparison.

Mine are the Aldi ‘snackrite’ ready-salted variety which I think are ok in terms of volume, for a multipack size, but I have noticed that there has been an increase in the number of broken crisps lately.

The seasoning can also get a little heavy-handed at times, though this packet is quite alright.

I do recommend the Aldi ‘specially selected’ range OP, for an alternative to the vastly overpriced (in Tesco express anyway) Kettle Chip.

Fewer

TheYearOfSmallThings · 02/06/2023 15:23

A ghost ate them.

SleepingisanArt · 02/06/2023 15:23

Thank you everyone - I laughed so hard I actually cried! But now I have a question - can you have crisps (posh or otherwise) as a side to the massive salad or should they be consumed as a separate meal?

The massive salad comments always make me think of the French and Saunders ballerina sketch - "would you like a pea?", " couldn't possibly, I had a lettuce leaf on Wednesday " or something along those lines.......
