Was he also at Pizza Express in Woking? 🙄

ThreeRingCircus · 02/06/2023 07:44

Also Phil has been messaging young boys....some of them 14 on Twitter and social media. Those messages are out there in the public eye. Now, nothing inappropriate was said as far as I can see and Phil said "he just likes engaging with his fans" but it's a dodgy look for a middle aged man to be messaging teenagers online. It's just not appropriate. Added to this story with MM it looks even more sinister.

newnamethanks · 02/06/2023 07:44

I haven't seen this and won't bother but surely this interview is a very bad idea? What on earth are his PR advisers thinking of? Who knows? Maybe they hate him too.

crossstitchingnana · 02/06/2023 07:44

The bit that pissed me off the most was when he said that the public are basically homophobic, and that this would not be such as issue if he'd had an affair with a woman.

Errr no. Changing sex of the young person doesn't make it ok. We, the public are not to blame for this mess YOU are Schofield.

FfeminyddCymraeg · 02/06/2023 07:44

He’s admitted getting jobs on other shows PS has worked on. But noooo….it wasn’t grooming.

I don't know a huge amount about this, so I may be missing something glaringly obvious.
But what has he done that is really THAT big a deal?
Ok, he had an affair and then lied about it when challenged, which many people before him have done. And I appreciate being in the public eye magnifies that more.
But, as far as we know, the guy was 20 so easily over the age of consent.
Why the HUGE deal and hatred for him?

He met him when the young man was a child.

He kept in touch with him and invited him to spend the day at the studio, then later got him a work placement.

Then the young man got a job on This Morning and was on camera a few times, at least one time partially dressed.

I'm quite disappointed with the questions, I'd be asking how a runner got on to a stage at an awards ceremony and why he was on screen at all.

Imagine you have a 15 year old daughter and she attends a drama club.

A celebrity in his mid 40's early 50s who is married comes to visit the club and they then start to follow each other on twitter.

While she is in 6th form the celebrity invites her to a day in London and then takes her out for lunch.

She is then given a work placement with the celebrity and not long after she gets a job on the main show the celebrity presents.

She actually gets to be on screen, in a bikini, with the fully dressed presenters.

She is in a vulnerable place but gets to go on stage at a national awards ceremony.

By this time she is 20 and starts a sexual relationship with the celebrity.

Would you be happy with this?

😁 and this sort of comment is why mumsnet needs a like button..

Hellenabe · 02/06/2023 07:47

Caroline Flack attacked her partner then couldn't handle the repercussions. Its a different situation.

I also think there is more to come out about PS, probably more young men and also drugs. It says a lot that no-one has come out in support of him whereas even with John Leslie, he still had supporters.

There's something weird though about both brothers and them abusing in similar ways.

Naunet · 02/06/2023 07:47

Haywirecity · 02/06/2023 06:54

Actually I have sympathy towards him. I think the,way the countryvhas behavedikecsome sort of feral pack. You've only got to look at how people on these threads have repeated things as fact when there's no evidence to support it or it's actually proven to be totally untrue to see how out of control this has got.

It's amazing to me that he's been able to withstand this extreme amount of stress and pressure he's been under. I bet people on here would be singing a whole different song if it were their child being pursued like this.

As someone who was abused as a kid and had adults turn a blind eye, your attitude disgusts me.

AuburnLeaves · 02/06/2023 07:48

Stop. You’re like a bunch of vultures, circling over your dying prey and pecking at the last bits of flesh on his bare bones.

The man is broken. This is somebody’s life, not a piece of entertainment for your enjoyment. Whatever he’s done … or hasn’t done - none of you know the full facts and your glee in watching him suffer is quite hideous to witness.

Has the other party accused him of this, made any allegations or is it trial by media and public opinion? It was wrong yes but saying someone deserves to die. Caroline Flack - have we not learned anything from this?

lol. The other party is still indebted in Schofield. He’s paying for his lawyers and a lot more! He has no choice but to rely on Schofields cash to protect him. Schofield can’t erase all the people that have seen things I’m afraid.

Again, what he chooses to do is on him. People will continue to have an issue with grooming, abuse of power, having sex with someone he’s know since he was a child when he’s mid 50s at the time and the other part was just into adulthood.

The Caroline Flack comparisons are simply more guilt tripping and a way to try to silence people. NO. It won’t work. He’s a sick man, with a desire to groom kids and have sex with them as adults. He’s scum and he’s dangerous. So no, I don’t be guilted into giving a shit whether he kills himself. That’s his choice. And I don’t care.

Don’t come on threads about him then 🙄

Willmafrockfit · 02/06/2023 07:51

Amol thinks it is important, now discussing, again, on radio 4

BananaSpanner · 02/06/2023 07:51

I think it’s ridiculous if people are suggesting that no celebrity should be held publicly accountable for their misdeeds because of Caroline Flack.

There is a fine line between widespread coverage of a story and a witch hunt. I think it was crossed with Flack who was already a fragile character but PS has been covering this up for years, the story is now being told and he doesn’t like it.

Oh come off it. He's just sorry he got caught. The tall of suicide is clearly manipulative. His poor daughters.

Haywirecity · 02/06/2023 07:52

JeandeServiette · 02/06/2023 07:43

He's 27.

We know.

He doesn't work in entertainment anymore.

Irrelevant. If you're in the middle of a media storm, and distressed, it is best to have media savvy advice.

If he's still in thrall, that's up to him.

Not if he's been groomed.

You really do have much more sympathy for the predator than you do for MM, don't you @Haywirecity ? Hmm.

You've got such a set mind, you can't see to the right or left. You think you have to support one or the other. I don't see it like that. Whether I'm bothered by what PS did or not, there's no way in a civilised society, people should have so little control over their behaviour that they think its OK to repeat lies and rumours as fact. And no way should anyone have to go through the intense pressure, which honestly we can't even imagine, that PS has been put through. That people like you say they'd be happy for their child to be subjected to that, is truly shocking to me.

You don't know anything about this 27yo man. Nothing. I have seen awful things said about him by people who say they're only concerned about his welfare. I have more compassion for him than you do because you're happy to have unproven things said about him when he's asked people to leave him alone and respect his privacy.

I came on to see what everyone was saying. Really glad everyone can see it for the manipulative shit it is!

Isn't he just!

Self-pitying, whining, venomous little tw@t!

Literally the only reasons he's been "put through intense pressure" is because he groomed a teenager, shagged them and then lied about it for years and years. Zero sympathy here.

Inkanta · 02/06/2023 07:54

He does have a feel sorry for me face. But this is an act and he did cruelly discard the runner. Compassion not relevant.

Willmafrockfit · 02/06/2023 07:54

did he?

JeandeServiette · 02/06/2023 07:54

We will have to agree to disagree @Haywirecity

I'm most certainly not "happy to have unproven things said about" MM. I'm concerned he isn't getting enough dispassionate support in all this.

But your perception of other people's concern about this is quite distorted, so there's no profit in discussing it further.

NeedToThinkOfOne · 02/06/2023 07:54

If you read the news article by Amol to support the interview, you’ll see he mentions duty of care towards PS, who was obviously in a bad way for the recording. Also, continuing this conversation is harming the other person (‘Runner’), too, who is described in context of the PS interview as ‘vulnerable’ and suffering from the ongoing, unwanted publicity.

You’re probably better off over on trash like Tattle if you get your kicks from continuing to tear down other people so much.

Willmafrockfit · 02/06/2023 07:56

where is the news article?

AllGussiedUp · 02/06/2023 07:56

He feels a victim of hate. Aw, poor lamb.
