Oh and he adores them all !

i really don’t like this witch hunt now.
every paper and channel reporting it as headline news. It feels very wrong now.

We need to leave him alone now.

It does highlight how hard it is to define grooming legally though. Both sides of the explanation are plausible and it’s impossible to know intentions behind actions.

He needs to stfu with his statements and interviews. Why doesn’t he know he's fuelling it?!

No-one likes a witch hunt, but you just know if this was another celeb he'd have sat on the sofa and tutted away with everyone else. Maybe karma for all the years he has done just that.

This morning and phillip would have been all over it if it was someone else.

IamSlave · 02/06/2023 09:12

I think this is was recorded beforehand Carol magriffen went on gb news last night. She said everyone knew. Everyone knew.

He hardly even mention his poor wife. Except to say his marriage isn't great right now.

commonground · 02/06/2023 08:57

Haven't rt whole thread but really fed up at him saying 'if it wasn't for his daughters he wouldn't be here'.

As someone bereaved by suicide this is just so so hurtful and not how it works. Urgh. What a deeply unpleasant man.

I'm sorry for your loss Flowers.

Yes just absolutely insensitive and shows utter lack of awareness when people say 'I would've killed useless but couldn't do it to my family'. People who tragically take their own lives are not in a place to think clearly at all.

Exactly. What a hypocrite that he thinks his disgusting behaviour shouldn’t warrant the same scrutiny.

Ardiaei · 02/06/2023 08:44

Yes some of the comments on here are not only disgusting, but more disgusting than what PS has done.

He’s done something wrong and what most people (including me) would regard as inappropriate. The younger man was 20. Over 18. It’s yuk, but there’s no evidence of grooming or abuse.

He’s done an interview on the Sun as well and his blink rate is incredibly low when he speaks. Make of that what you will.

Slow blinking combined with a lot of fixed staring does not indicate telling the truth. It can be about controlling the narrative. See point 10. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/signs-someone-is-lying-not-telling-truth-a7606246.html

12 signs someone is lying to you

The Eagles were right when they sang "You can't hide your lyin' eyes."

KoalaKube · 02/06/2023 09:16

PS is desperately trying to manage the narrative.

I can understand the young man involved not wanting to talk at the time - his life and career was ruined. However, there must be a lot of money being offered for him to tell his side of the story. It’s been a few years since the affair and his ‘being let go’ all happened. Has Someone (PS?) been supporting him financially? Keeping him quiet, Hush Money? The manipulation continues.

OvaHere · 02/06/2023 09:19

I'm wondering why the BBC is joining in with the damage limitation PR? They could have just stayed out of this.

SunnyEgg · 02/06/2023 09:20

I haven’t listened but heard a bit on the news

Those kinds of interviews just fan the flames. People will keep talking about it especially if he’s doing interviews

commonground · 02/06/2023 09:21

"If it had been a heterosexual relationship it would have been a bit of nudge nudge wink wink".....

Yeah. Vile.

JustDanceAddict · 02/06/2023 09:22

My opinion fwiw - I saw some of the interview on bbc breakfast.
PS acted very inappropriately- he’s an idiot for starting a sexual relationship with this young man - made worse by knowing him
as a teen. May or may not be ‘grooming’, but PS In position of power so he should’ve been controlling himself.
The coming out in 2020 was def a ‘cover’ for this affair, why make such a performance of it otherwise? I’m sure there are other gay men in the public eye who are married to women and we don’t know about.
He lied and that makes it all look worse, so now he’s not to be believed.
He’s 61 and loaded with a devoted family and friends so he can basically retire gracefully now - he doesn’t have to work. The ‘what am I going to do now’ cries falling on deaf ears here.

Ardiaei · 02/06/2023 09:23

Another person who is happy to berate someone who is obviously the victim of this exact type of abuse. Well done for criticising an abuse victim who is speaking up about the effect their abuse has had on them as disgusting, so that you can enable an abuser to abuse others in the same way.

No just stop. I’m not doing any of that. A poster said they couldn’t care less if ‘someone like him’ went through with suicide. I this case someone like him is someone who was unfaithful to his wife and had an affair with someone 30 years younger but over 18. I don’t like PS but so far there is no evidence he is a groomer or abuser.

Haywirecity · 02/06/2023 06:54

Actually I have sympathy towards him. I think the,way the countryvhas behavedikecsome sort of feral pack. You've only got to look at how people on these threads have repeated things as fact when there's no evidence to support it or it's actually proven to be totally untrue to see how out of control this has got.

It's amazing to me that he's been able to withstand this extreme amount of stress and pressure he's been under. I bet people on here would be singing a whole different song if it were their child being pursued like this.

I haven't read the whole thread but I agree with this.

It's not a nice story but if that's all there is to it he doesn't deserve to be hounded to death like this. These lynch mobs are awful. He has said sorry, he has told the story. Leave him alone now.

TheFairyCaravan · 02/06/2023 09:29

If this had been a BBC, C4 or Sky News presenter PS and This Morning would be clambering all over themselves, offering money, to get MM on to give the first exclusive interview, and he would have absolutely lapped it up. He’d have given no fucks for anyone suffering in the fallout, just as he hasn’t for the past 21yrs. Now the boot is on the other foot and he’s the one being talked about, everyone is being mean and totally homophobic. 🙄

Elior · 02/06/2023 09:30

There is nothing to stop them covering the story right now. Aren't they the show who always cover the stories their viewers would like them to? 😊

Willmafrockfit · 02/06/2023 09:32

so why and how was this story kept hidden for so long?
was it queue gate that opened the floodgates

Lamped · 02/06/2023 09:32

I think his reaction to queuegate said a lot about his character.

Namechange666 · 02/06/2023 09:35

I've just started watching it and he said first time the young man asked to do tv was when he was 19. Jack Jones has a video of schofield on his own eating with this guy when he was a kid and he doesn't look 19. So is this proof of lying?

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 02/06/2023 09:36

Looking forward to hearing the body language experts thought on this

I believe he really does have power at itv, despite saying he doesn't after what Dan Wooten said. PS managed to get MM a job on loose women with a new title even though he was doing the same job, which meant the other runner getting the sack.

OrbandSpectacle · 02/06/2023 09:36

He has said sorry, he has told the story. Leave him alone now.

Maybe if he stopped giving out interviews and simply just faded away from public gaze, he would eventually be left alone.

Instead.....

He used the late Caroline Flack story to engender guilt.

He self declared he is using his daughters as props.

Despicable.

PixieLook · 02/06/2023 09:37

I know I’ll be flamed for this but I think people are over reacting. PS is a daytime host who had an affair with a young man, aged 19. Even if they originally met when he was 15. I presume the said young man was gay and agreed to the relationship. I’ve not heard anything to the contrary. Not unheard of for these age gap relationships. PS used his influence to get this person a job at 18, again a common thing in life. He didn’t murder anyone. The witch-hunt seems completely out of proportion. So many people in the world doing so much more worse things, even in my street - the horrible woman where I live who swears at and verbally abuses her children nearly every time I see her. There are so many examples in public life too - the water companies polluting our seas and rivers and the politicians who privatised the water industries in the first place. One of many examples.

commonground · 02/06/2023 09:37

The most interesting thing he said was that there was no formal questioning of him by itv. He's after taking down This Morning for sure. Might as well stick it to ITV while he can.

Looking forward to his tell-all book next year- 'Phillip Schofield - The Make Up Room Years'

User18538754 · 02/06/2023 09:39

I'm just surprised that people on MN seem to know so much, similar to when that poor woman went missing at the beginning of the year. They all seem to know so much, much more than the people actually involved in it all
