Rubbish title but hopefully you know what I mean.

For me, those who spring to mind are:
Sir David Attenborough
Tom Hanks
Usain Bolt
Judy Dench

OP posts:

George Michael. I'd be shocked & saddened to hear he was anything other than a proper good 'un.

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 31/05/2023 21:33

David Tennant
Lewis Capaldi
Bradley Walsh - I met him very early in his career and he was completely adorable
The guys from The Script
Paul Rudd
Johnny Ball

tiredwardsister · 31/05/2023 21:36

Paul Newman. I understand he was one of the biggest ever donators to charity in the US. A physically beautiful man I would be so sad if it ever turned out that he was a total shit.

On the flip side, what if you met a reputedly awful famous person and they came across really well. Imagine meeting Prince Andrew or Donald Trump and walking away thinking…what a nice man😂

I can well imagine Trump in particular turning on the charm unexpectedly. Such people haven’t got where they are merely through brute force and ignorance. 😂 It must be a disorientating experience.

How would Britney have a clue who Supervet is?

Cathy Dennis wrote the song. She was a mid 1990’s UK pop star but had a massively successful career as a songwriter.

she wrote Toxic about her relationship with Noel Fitzpatrick. She also went out with former HEAT magazine editor Mark Frith

Runnersandtoms · 31/05/2023 22:06

When I met Justin Fletcher he certainly came across as a bit of an arse who couldn't give a shit about the kids. I really hope he isn't a nonce though as I do think his shows have done a lot of good.

Agree with Mr Maker and David Attenborough especially the latter, I would be gutted and very surprised if he turned out to have been dodgy.

God

Apparently he's a massive narcissist, and it wouldn't surprise me.

He might be a vet but his colleagues in the field can’t stand him for a lot of reasons including he’s a narc and a bully apparently

Beaverbridge · 31/05/2023 22:27

Yeah he gives off a strange vibe the vet. Just something off about him.

Are you mad?
He’s just about as nasty as it gets.

Seems like a bit of an arsehole, tbh, with all of of the smiting, floods, plagues, famine, pestilence, etc.

Milton Jones
Jennifer Aniston

Happy to confirm that Milton Jones is absolutely lovely in person: kind, thoughtful and with a strong moral compass.

CountingMareep · 31/05/2023 22:49

I read an interview with Noel Fitzpatrick where he revealed he had been abused. It was a very odd article with somewhat sinister undertones; not quite Jimmy Savile with Lynn Barber in 1990 (she went as far as she could get away with at the time, short of obvious insinuations) but it had that sort of flavour to it.

I mean, there was the drunk/drugged driving… I doubt the Snappy Snaps window thinks he was a good’un.

I agree nothing on the level of Boy George though, who seemed sweet but turned out to be a massive tosser.

EamonsPalliativeCareTracksuit · 31/05/2023 23:01

I know someone who used to work for the super vet. He is apparently a tyrannical bully with wandering hands.

Yeah I remember all that stuff about him, but by all accounts GM was absolutely not a massive tosser, unlike t'other one.
By bad 'un I took the question in the OP to mean dark stuff like Harris, etc. Especially when they have/had a good 'un image & reputation.
GM certainly made some serious mistakes but I believe he was a genuinely good person.

Workyticket · 30/05/2023 22:45

Robbie Coltrane - I'd be gutted if he was a wrong 'un

I’ve met him a few times and he wasn’t very nice, was really arrogant and rude

Dragonsandcats · 31/05/2023 23:16

Ed sheeran and Richard osman. Think they both seem lovely.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 31/05/2023 23:16

I remember the Graham's Norton interview where David Attenborough was being sleezey, it gave me the ick.

I also remember graham Norton being very unpleasant about jade Goody back in the day. I appreciate it was a long time ago but it was bullying and sexist.

PopcorningPancakingWheeking · 31/05/2023 23:28

David Attenborough

Benedict Cumberbatch

Dan Stevens

Rob James - Collier

Maggie Smith

Kevin Doyle

Hugh Bonneville

Penelope Wilton

David Mitchell

Alan Davies

Eileen Atkins

Tony Hart

He had his demons for sure but I do believe a man who quietly gave away a small fortune to help members of the public - complete strangers - not to mention so many charities and who worked undercover at a homeless shelter was fundamentally a good person.

dropthevipers · 01/06/2023 00:05

if it ever came out that Sir Steve Redgrave was a drugs cheat I would probably have to kill myself.

Strawberrydelight78 · 01/06/2023 00:57

Jason Donovan used to have a massive crush on him and Ed Sheeran.

I am not an expert on South African politics, but why are you blaming Nelson for something his wife said in 1986, given that Nelson Mandela was in prison then and had been for many years. He divorced Winnie later. I certainly can't excuse her actions and statements, but let's not forget the context. South Africa was a cruel and brutal place for its non-white population before the end of apartheid.

Fair enough.

At least now it’s cruel and brutal place for all.
