Rubbish title but hopefully you know what I mean.

For me, those who spring to mind are:
Sir David Attenborough
Tom Hanks
Usain Bolt
Judy Dench

@MarkWithaC i know someone who has met both the brothers and apparently Noel is a massive coke head but Liam is a lot nicer than you'd expect.

I've read similar things on here actually. Am prepared to believe Liam is a nice guy.

Noel has refused to appear at the Ariana Grande gig after the Manchester bombing because Liam would be there and that says it all, really. (still love Oasis music for all my sins).

Anyway, found the thread: twitter.com/jamesblunt/status/1102642930207113216?s=46&t=74chx182Xz4fGXPK9WcNNw

What a diva.
I still like their music too though. Well, Definitely Maybe anyway.

Lewis Capaldi strikes me as very creepy

He's lovely

Such a nice bloke. He's never met his youngest child and only met the oldest when she was an adult. The eldest was conceived whilst he was married to Patsy Kensit. The youngest was conceived whilst he was still married to Nicole Appleton.

Yep prince amongst men that guy.

(And I love Oasis).

Oh my mistake! It was only his wife who in 1986, stated, "With our boxes of matches, and our necklaces, we shall liberate this country", which was widely seen as an explicit endorsement of necklacing.

For anyone not in the know, necklacing involves a tyre being placed around the neck of a victim and then set alight; the tyre stays around the victim’s neck until he or she dies.

Lovely people, the Mandelas. And South Africa has gone from strength to strength and isn’t dangerous at all now.

I am not an expert on South African politics, but why are you blaming Nelson for something his wife said in 1986, given that Nelson Mandela was in prison then and had been for many years. He divorced Winnie later. I certainly can't excuse her actions and statements, but let's not forget the context. South Africa was a cruel and brutal place for its non-white population before the end of apartheid.

It's old news so probably not a 'scandal' but didn't Springsteen get with his current wife while still married to his previous one?

Yes apparently he did. But it happened in the 80s, before my time, so I’ve decided it’s irrelevant and he’s still a saint😂

Eastie77Returns · 31/05/2023 16:31

@CheekNerveGallAudacityandGumption you seem very confused. Winnie made those comments, not her husband. And why is he to blame for the dangerous state of affairs in SA today? He was part of an extremely peaceful transfer of power to majority rule. South Africans can thank their lucky stars that the country didn’t descend into civil war and this is partly thanks to him. Clearly there are massive issues in the country now. I can’t think why though. Perhaps decades of treating Black people as sub-human and creating huge inequality might have something to do with it? Or are the Mandelas to blame for Apartheid as well🙄

Sorry to derail the thread OP.

Re Andy Murray. I remember reading about how as a child, a famous tennis player (at the time) walked past him at a tournament and didnt sign his programme or whatever wee Andy was waving at him. Andy, there and then, decided that if he hit the big time, he'd not leave the court until every child that wanted it had got his autograph. I always watch through my fingers in case he misses one and the myth is destroyed, but he does always seem to stay behind longer than lots of other players.

Tom Cruise, for all his utter lizard man insanity, is the same with fans and things are often delayed because he talks to them for ages.

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 31/05/2023 17:25

How have we not mentioned Sam Ryder yet? The (space)man who saved our rep at Eurovision if only for 12 months and wearing a jumpsuit to boot!

Paul Weller was a twat at the Red Wedge concert in 1986. I loved him then and he was such a narky little dick.

AlfietheSchnauzer · 31/05/2023 17:28

Peter Kay

AlfietheSchnauzer · 31/05/2023 17:30

Also Sir David Attenborough & Tom Hanks like OP!

I love James O'Brian too, he should be PM, he knows his shit

user1471556818 · 31/05/2023 18:01

Keanu Reeves
David Attenborough would be devastated

electricmoccasins · 31/05/2023 18:13

Alan Rickman

Gilead · 31/05/2023 19:30

Have met Paxman, with Dd, he is charming.
Dd met Atwood a few years ago. Had a really good conversation with her, and was offered photos. She adored Atwood beforehand and even more after the meeting.

AbbyGal · 31/05/2023 19:37

i forgot David Tennant and Olivia Colman in my original list. Also agree with loads of the people already mentioned.

Definitely rumours that something unsavoury will come out for one of those. No idea if true.

Yeah...that Betty Boothroyd is a right Pizzagate, Epstein loving lizard person! 😂😂 😂

hot2trotter · 31/05/2023 20:03

Some of you are going to be in for a massive shock 😬

NeedWineNow · 31/05/2023 20:09

Dave Grohl. He is the only man I'd leave DH for (a highly unlikely scenario I admit!) and it would shatter me to learn that he's not the lovely, sweary rock God and all round nice bloke that you see interviewed.

RedToothBrush · 31/05/2023 20:19

hot2trotter · 31/05/2023 20:03

It's kinda depressing isn't it?

Eastie77Returns · 31/05/2023 21:15

On the flip side, what if you met a reputedly awful famous person and they came across really well. Imagine meeting Prince Andrew or Donald Trump and walking away thinking…what a nice man😂

Kv2 · 31/05/2023 21:17

He already did but name suppression and all, often see him being lusted after on here as a bit of alternative eye candy.

isitshe · 31/05/2023 21:22

ChickenMacaroni · 31/05/2023 20:30

Apparently he's a massive narcissist, and it wouldn't surprise me.

Warwick Davies.

I love him.

I love him too! I live in the same area and he and his family are very well thought of 😊
