How often do you wash your duvet?

As summer approaches, drying a duvet becomes easier. I'm curious about how frequently you wash your duvet in the summer. Do you find yourself doing it less often in the winter? Also, how do you manage to dry your duvet during the winter months?

Never. It wouldn't for in the machine and it would cost me a fortune to get it cleaned. I spritz ours with Febreze when I change the cover and throw it on the line to air once or twice a season.

ours gets washed around April and then again in September…start and end of summer 😝

I have the clip together ones - 5 tog for summer, 9 for spring and autumn, join together for winter.

They both get washed twice a year. They're 30+ years old so getting a little flat, but it means they both go in the washer!

I have a woolroom one and love it
My dad was very dad like and did the whole poking it and "hmmm". Then bought himself one! He loves it too

Thanks @bonfirebash!

Wash the summer one at the end of summer because it fits in the machine, never washed winter one

StevieNicksfan · 04/07/2023 12:55

Never. I air it regularly and change the cover on a regular basis. It's king size and wouldn't fit in the washing machine. When it starts to look a bit knackered or is stained then I buy a new one.

I have never washed it! It's massive and would break the washing machine instantly. I don't have the time (and certainly not the inclination) to go to the laundrette with it. I air it occasionally though.
I don't eat or drink in bed, so spillages are unlikely and if anything catastrophic happened, I'd have to buy a new one. The kids single duvets are washed every now and then though.
