Looks like it was going for a lot longer than PS allegedly said it took place. There might be evidence of grooming if the runner was underaged when working at ITV and somehow the “friendship” developed.

I didn’t realise that Dan Whooton congratulated PS Because I am pretty sure I saw on Twitter that Whooton mentioned that he wanted to run the “story” in 2019 and apparently the runner was upset about being moved to Loose Women and coincidentally according to this thread that it was also 2019 that PS came out of the closet

The fact that ITV Management had to ask and PS lied about when it started implies that it was common knowledge amongst the higher ups and that there is more to it. What I don’t understand why it was brushed under the carpet and why the victim wasn’t given some kind of support. Unless, he was offered incentives to stay quiet such as a promotion or something like that that he couldn’t pass up.

The posters accusing others of homophobia are rather unconvincing. There are hundreds of gay relationships in the TV industry, yet no outraged Mumsnet threads about them, no-one cares. There is no way that PS' agency dropped him like a hot potato because of a gay affair as being gay is a protected characteristic and unfair treatment based on homophobia is thankfully illegal in this country. There will be more to this and we'll soon find out what his unsavoury antics involved. 😬

I genuinely wonder if she did know!

When she did that cringing coming out interview with him, I thought he must have some dirt on her and her DH and she's being forced to go along with it, but then their friendship and family holidays continued so maybe not.

But surely she and her DH must have realised that it would come out at some point, and that they'd be guilty by association. More and more so as time went on.

People in Philips situation, in the middle of the affair can be blind and stupid to the consequences, but people watching from the sidelines. !! They're never blind to the consequences. So what the hell was she (and he DH) thinking!!!

HW is doing all she can to save her career. Her comment was all about her, and trying - and failing - to limit damage. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not surprised. I'd heard about 18 months ago that there was persistent harassment of young men (some underage or only just "adult") on the set for some time.

As with all sexual harassment, it's the hypocrisy , the secrecy, and the power imbalance that is the problem, not the sex of the harassed employee.

How do you know that? None of them has confirmed that. Not even Eamonn and he's been pretty vocal about everything. Theres no injunction. Any of them could have come out and said something and none of them did.
Easy for them to be big after the fact.

That photo really upset me 😢 a school friend was groomed and she was desperate like that, she fell apart and died before she was 16 (not of her own hand btw) she could not understand what happened, we did not understand that she had aged out, we were children too.

It is a still snapshot of one second in time. People have applied their own interpretation and meaning to it, given the timing of it, but we actually have no idea what was happening in the photo.

How do you even know who it is, never mind what their interaction is. He could be telling her that her car's just be stolen!

@ExitChasedByAMemory yes it looks like it’s gone on longer than they claim. Dan Wootton’s tweet about the coming out said ‘I salute Phillip’. Counteracting his claims to have left ITV because of his raising concerns about the runner, someone swiftly then retweeted his comments that he quit ITV like Piers Morgan: ‘because of pressure to lay off Harry and Meghan’. So maybe we take whatever he says lightly as he seems to move the facts around to place himself in the best light IMHO.

Yes there is, I don't think the photo in itself is overly telling though. She would have definitely known who he was because he was a runner but had also been elevated to a PA of sorts to PS- ITV paid for taxis for him to Schofes home etc so there was definitely a guise of work somewhere mixed in. I don't think it's crazy to assume she didn't know, people cheat on their spouses after all and they don't have a clue, they're close friends but doesn't mean he told her. I suspect she did though and she will conduct all sorts of damage control until her husband gives her some new jobs to keep her going.

Phil's career is over but can Holly come back from this ? I'm not sure.

I bet there's a fair few hoping the David Walliams story (whatever that may entail) comes out sooner rather than later to take the spotlight
