Ah well.

It's "not illegal", meaning the person was of legal age? But still exceptionally young? 🤮

Wonder who was threatening to spill the beans.

The young man in question was hit with a gagging order. Now the gagging order has been lifted and Phil is the first to run to the press to fauz cry and give his side of the story where he refuses to name him out of respect.

Didn't respect him much though when he started grooming him at 13 then getting him shipped off to a different show.

Hardly acceptable or respectable just because he chose to wait till the 13 year old turned 16 before making his moves and deciding it's ok because its legal.

Philip and his brother are from the same mold. Both think grooming children till their 16 is ok and acceptable .

Filthy pair of fuckers

I agree, though tbh I'd rather MN allowed the obviously homophobic posts to stand, as they lay bare the thread's obvious undercurrent. Others with similar views just know better how to conceal them.

Guys, your ignorance is showing. Check out the context of my username 🙄

I repeat: not a homophobe.

HRTQueen · 27/05/2023 10:53

So what if there are older men and younger men in relationships

older gay men as older straight men can be predatory

any older man having a relationship with a younger person especially who he has known as a child is questionable and rings alarm bells (as with women too but as we know it doesn’t happen anywhere near as much)

AbreathofFrenchair · 27/05/2023 10:54

Tillyteacup · 27/05/2023 09:25

Sorry but I dint actually see what he’s done wrong really. He had a consensual relationship with another adult not underage albeit much younger than him. People have affairs all the time. Unless there is more to it I’m struggling to see why he is being vilified just for this.

He first had contact when the young man was 10 years old. He pretty much groomed him till he was 16. He used his position and power to do so.

This is not acceptable. It is not ok.

Just because a child is at the legal age of consent, doesn't mean it is ok or acceptable to then enter into a sexual relationship with a man in his late 50s who has cherry picked this boy.

MM wanted to work in tv. Philip made that happen then shipped him off This Morning and hit him with a gagging order to prevent him talking about what happened.

Does still sound a sad little tale of a poor man who just fell in love with a boy and is simply misunderstood?!

And this is why it's so easy to groom young children when adults are so eager to attempt to explain inappropriate behaviour away.

curiousitykilledtheKat · 27/05/2023 10:21

He always came across as smug and judgemental to me. The Kerry Katona incident comes to mind. That poor girl was on medication for bi polar and he was trying to make it out that she'd been taking something she shouldn't have.
He was funny until about 15 years ago but more recently has become insufferable. Good riddance to him from our screens.

She was pissed and/or using non-prescripton drugs. And in a relationship with an abuser who didn't give a shit about going on TV with her and letting her look like a mess because it served his abusive purpose.

Schofield was a dick about it and I'm not excusing that but KK assertion that it was bipolar meds is bullshit.

Whatever. I’m not but I’m definitely a Phil Schofield-phobe.

Are you getting double time from the crisis management agency for your deflection posts on a Saturday?

Merrymouse · 27/05/2023 11:03

thedancingbear · 27/05/2023 09:55

It would attract some press attention, certainly, but it would be 'sidebar of shame'-type stuff. Not end of career, dumped by agent, aspersions that he was a paedophile etc.

If you can find a single example of a straight personality facing the same consequences in the same circumstances, then I'll change my mind (and I'm happy to have my mind changed on this one).

Did ‘me too’ pass you by?

Care full Stacey will be getting angry due to neglect and that isn't a pretty picture. Isn't there some Instagram hustle to sort?

thedancingbear · 27/05/2023 10:51

By your logic I’m also a heterophobe because I despise the section of that community that are paedophiles or attracted to young teens. Just because PS is gay doesn’t give him a pass on predatory behaviour.

Iamtheonwandlonely · 27/05/2023 11:07

Explains why it was considered ok for the two older boys to sleep alone in a building away from Mum!

EwwSprouts · 27/05/2023 11:11

Agree with @RedToothBrush 10.28

Also people seem to be generally buying it was all consensual, but we've only heard from one of the parties.

RhinoMoveFast · 27/05/2023 11:11

Have a think about who has sons and who that family have access to? You think the runner was the only one?

Romeiswheretheheartis · 27/05/2023 11:13

We only have PS's word that he 'waited till he was 16'. Given he's spent the last couple of decades lying left, right and centre, I wouldn't be believing anything he says now.

JeandeServiette · 27/05/2023 11:13

Quirrelsotherface · 27/05/2023 08:05

Oh and people should stop seeing Schofield's wife as a victim. Allegedly she has always known he's gay

I don't know. When they married she had some kind of "fan got lucky" air about her. Maybe she was groomed too. As his beard and his biggest fan.

I can remember 30 years ago I had a friend whose main enthusiasms were musical theatre and bridal shops. She had been to see PS in Joseph about a hundred times. She was strangely caught up in the supposed love story of PS and his new wife and their Scottish dream wedding and wouldn't stop talking about it. I was bemused then because I couldn't see any real romance in the details I was being told. It all hit a dull note.

Now it sort of makes sense that a 19 year old whose main ambition was early marriage felt some resonance in the story of a "quiet woman who bagged a star". There's a whole tradition of canine women making good beards.

Phil, the self-confessed liar xpects us to believe that he waited til this boy, that he had been mentoring from the age of 10, was 16 before embarking on a relationship.

whynotwhatknot · 27/05/2023 11:13

its not just us saying it though-why woud his whole managment team dump him if it was just a legitimate affair

JeandeServiette · 27/05/2023 11:16

Softoprider · 27/05/2023 09:04

And surely now it's time to leave him alone guys.

Ha. Really? Why is that, then?

whynotwhatknot · 27/05/2023 11:13

Why was it suppressed and hushed up if it was an above board, perfectly legal relationship?

Why the need to engage the services of a specialist "crisis management" PR company to the tune of £30k a month if nothing untoward was happening?

Soooo many questions.

Adults should not be corresponding privately via social media with non related teens - at least until they turn 18

Because celebrity predators usually get away with it and are protected until after they die.

Look at Savile, enough evidence to sink him, but he knew too much so was protected by everyone around him. For such a nasty, creepy character he certainly had friends in high places - why? How did he do that?

PS’s downfall will be very carefully managed so as to continue protecting others, hence why tv bosses appear to have not learnt - they have learnt because there is so much more to keep hidden. Schofield is the current tip of the iceberg.

Surely the SM you're talking about as in Twitter isn't private?

Otherwise there wouldn't be so many people posting the public posts?

This is pretty much the policy of any reputable youth or education agency. All correspondence should go through adults or copy in adults as a minimum. If only to protect the adult concerned from allegations.
