Isn’t the super injunction coming to and end soon? Him trying to put his version ahead of the other person? (Not sure if we are allowed to name him cos of the super injunction)

Plbrookes · 26/05/2023 20:35

Eamonn Holmes' tweet is surprisingly forthright!

"Schofield has finally been caught out ... But he's not the only guilty party. 4 high members of Itv management knew what sort of man he was ...and NEVER once took action to prevent him controlling or taking advantage of his position over young people."

EsmaCannonball · 26/05/2023 20:35

IIRC, you can legally break an NDA if it is to whistleblow criminal behaviour or, for example, information that is a danger to life or public safety. Disgraceful as he is, Schofield's behaviour may not have fallen into that category (or at least what the bit that his colleagues knew). Clearly some of his colleagues were happy to put their careers first until it became untenable. (Holly)

I really do hope this doesn't turn out to be just a scratch on the surface of a bigger pot of poo....

Are you messing???

Do you think this is an isolated incident?

Bless your heart

savory · 26/05/2023 20:35

There are persistent rumours about two national 'treasures' one straight and one gay in their dotage that never seem to go away, but the press never crosses that line that Schofield seems to have crossed.

This has been widely discussed on social media since 2019. It’s an open secret and was the real reason that Ruth and Eamon left TM. It’s also the reason Schofield came out because the guy was trying to sell his story, he’s since left showbiz altogether and has normal job. I hope he’s ok.

Im now expecting the much younger male escort who Schofield was living with through lockdown to sell his story to the highest bidder.

What??? I haven't heard about the male escort!

Terms of NDAs vary. There are some where you can comment/break them if the information is already in the public domain from other means.

Declan Kincaid posted a response to that post saying he was suspicious from his first morning on the show...so it clearly wasn't well hidden if a new person was suspicious from Day 1.

What I find slightly difficult in all this is a feeling that homophobia makes it worse in public perception than other inappropriate relationships between older men and young colleagues. And also PS's actual age. What if he'd been 40 and the young colleague had been 20? Is that worse or the same?

I think it's pretty much the same of course, and if he were heterosexual and the groomed person had been female, it wouldn't be quite such the scandal, unfortunately.

Humphrey Bogart was mid 40s, Lauren Bacall 19. Charles was 30ish and Diana 19. Hell, my MIL was 16 when she got married, FIL 21!

It all gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I disagree - I actually think he got away with it for a long time because people may have feared being called homophobic for pointing out that it was inappropriate.
When you are the face of morning tv, you have to be squeaky clean - reputation is everything. If he was a rock star or something it may have been different, their reputation doesn't matter so much and people will still buy their records.
But the audience target for This Morning is middle class women; wives and mothers who will feel vaguely ick at Phil and his diddling. So he had to go.

Justmuddlingalong · 26/05/2023 20:39

MM has more than This Morning on his LinkedIn CV. Here is a list of some of the other ITV shows he's worked on.
5 gold rings.
Dancing on ice.
How to spend it well.
The British soap awards.
Funny (but not funny) that, hmmm?

Marginally more creepy than other male stars with their very much younger lovers. Such as David Bowie and John Peel, Mick Jagger (yes, yes I know different times). Stephen Fry, Jeff Goldblum, Michael Sheen, David Tennant, Leonardo di Caprio. And all the teachers on the current thread about teachers and their pupils. Hopefully they'll all get the raised eyebrow at least from now on.

I can't remember what Mick Jagger did in this context. Bill Wyman, yes I remember him and Mandy Smith, who was 13 years old. But can someone please remind me about Mick Jagger? It's not that I'm too young to remember, more that I'm old and maybe my memory's failing.

What's this 'mermaids' everyone is going on about? What have I missed?

Peadophiles talking to children on Mermaids message boards, data leaks etc, encouraging them to get permanent pre pubescent bodies, there are many news articles about them, Phillip and Holly were promoting Mermaids for years, also This morning management.

rwalker · 26/05/2023 20:40

rainbowstardrops · 26/05/2023 18:40

He says he's lied to ITV, the press, his friends and his family.
I imagine this is the basis of the 'spat' with HW.

Niece works in those circles everyone knew it was no secret

Bluebells1970 · 26/05/2023 20:40

I feel horribly sorry for the young lad involved in this, it must be horrendous knowing this is now national headlines.

Schofield however can rot in hell. I hope he never works again after this.

BonnieBobbin · 26/05/2023 20:41

I don't really think it's appropriate to stalk the young man. A lot of PS' statement was asking people to leave the young man alone. He's the victim in this. Fgs if even the Daily Mail isn't naming him or listing his employment history, posters on here should be able to restrain themselves.

There’s an awful lot of ex groupies who still say they had sex with Jagger when they were underage. But afaik no official complaint has ever been made so never investigated.

SophiaElizabethGrace · 26/05/2023 20:47

Just to clarify for those who are still unsure, I was not talking about Meghan and Hazza 👸

As you were.

dayswithaY · 26/05/2023 20:47

Find it hard to believe Schofield’s daughter didn’t hear anything seeing as she works for the show also. Doesn’t she work for his management team? Awkward for her now they’ve let him go.

Feefee10 · 26/05/2023 20:47

Schofield was in contact with this boy when he was 10 at a drama group then on social media, there's photos of them together and them having dinner. He's known him a long time since childhood there's photos all over the place. It's grooming.

Gowlett · 26/05/2023 20:48

More to come. He can’t just shut the guy up. I think if it hadn’t been a runner on the show, they would have done an Ant McPartlin job on it.

But the fact that he did this at work, there’s just no way of spinning it better. Holly did her part, standing by him with the gay revelation.

But she can’t be expected to sacrifice her career for him, friends or not. I think she’s fine the right thing, cutting loose from Schofield.

Yajebbend · 26/05/2023 20:49

Interesting to see that MM has this on his LinkedIn profile under 5 gold rings main duties

Escorting main presenter to and from the studio for rehearsals and recordings

turnthetoiletpaperroundproperly · 26/05/2023 20:50

The people who knew, who have spent years covering for PS should hang their heads in shame, Whats the saying ? Something like birds of a feather flocking together? There is way more to this, this is just the beginning,Of that I am sure.

QuintanaRoo · 26/05/2023 20:28

Not at all. My point was that the DM have obviously been onto him for a while and asking him for his side of things. Hence why he’s come out with it as they were about to run a story regardless. He hasn’t just decided to come clean for no reason.

Thanks for reply/clarifying. Am pretty honest bod but ever since young have always thought lies morally ok if being grilled by someone with no legitimate interest and with dishonest bad motives. I always thought of the Nazis. Which the DM knows something about. "Hurrah for the Blackshirts"

BagpussDearBagpuss · 26/05/2023 20:53

What is the issue with Ant and Dec?
