How long would you say a 'weekend away' was as a prize?

Two nights, Fri - Sunday. Otherwise it should be described as a night away.

Charity auction -I'd let it go

But if the hotel was auctioning it themselves didn't they quote some value? Why are they auctioning off own rooms? With no restrictions (Ie can't use New Year's Eve?)

I won a weekend away, it was for Friday and Saturday night.
Weekend is the week end, i.e the Friday, and you get the Saturday. One night is not a weekend.

Though weekend break also just indicates it's happening at the weekend so you can use it Friday /Saturday and maybe Sunday.

Rather then Monday -Thursday when the business people book rooms.
