How long would you say a 'weekend away' was as a prize?

Just that...how many nights? 1, 2, 3?

2 nights, Friday and Saturday come home on the Sunday.

1. If I was given just one night I'd be feeling a bit misled as, like others have stated, one night is 'A night away'. 2 nights is a 'Weekend Away'

2 nights. A weekend is two days so it needs to be roughly equivalent to that.

5 nights - Sunday to Thursday.

I work weekends and WFH. I would also drive a hard bargain. 😃

Two nights, that’s the generally understood meaning of “a weekend”.

I won a weekend away from Jelly Belly (the sweets) we got first class trains up to Edinburgh on the Friday, where we were booked into a 4* Hotel, meals included. The Saturday we toured the castle & The Royal Yacht Britannia, in the evening we went to a show. Sunday we went to the zoo before getting a train home, Everything was paid for by Jelly Belly, they gave us spends too, fabulous weekend :-)

A weekend is two days and two nights so I would expect it to encompass 48 hours, i.e. two nights.

One night is not a weekend… it’s literally… a night away!

So if you count a long weekend as three nights and a weekend as one night, what do you class as two nights? 🤔

Aw it’s ok we can all tell you’ve only been given one night. Who did it and what happened?

Friday, Saturday, come home Sunday. For a long weekend, stay Sunday night too.

I have won two weekend trips, one was 5 star in Sydney, the other was 4 star in Perth, both 2 night stays. I have also won a one night stay with dinner in Perth Hills, we paid for an extra night. So a weekend is definitely two nights.

If I class a weekend away as one night can I have the prize?

If I was talking going away with a friend, I'd think 2 nights - Friday and Saturday.
But because prizes are always minimum, I'd assume it would be 1 night. And be surprised with delight if I found it was 2.

What do you mean prizes are always minimum? In my experience its quite the opposite!

If it's a completion, then it should be advertised as a night away. A weekend away implies more than a 19hr stay.....check in is usually 15.00, checkout 10.00. That's not a weekend...... I'd be pretty pissed being told a weekend is actually 19hrs.....

2 nights is a weekend away, usually Friday and Saturday. 1 is an overnight, 3 nights is a long weekend.

I would class it as three nights. Going on the Friday and returning on the Monday.
A lot of places won't let you book in until 14.00, in which case most of Friday has disappeared.
So if you're only there for Friday and Saturday night then you're effectively only getting one whole day there as you will be booking out at 10.00 on the Sunday morning and travelling home.
At least staying till Monday gives you two whole days.

Arrive Friday, leave Monday morning.

Also 2, usually Friday to Sunday although Saturday to Monday has been known on bank holidays.
