Does anyone know anything about the choir? Most of to em are just wearing standard church choir robes, then some have the fancy red coats and there's a row of people in tuxes at the back. What's the significance, anyone know?

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 06/05/2023 11:43

Oh I’ve already gone all goose pimply.

a1234567 · 06/05/2023 11:44

The choir is absolutely sublime. Especially in this plainsong. Can't fault it at all..

the80sweregreat · 06/05/2023 11:44

He looks a bit like Bernie Ecclestone.

FMLWTF · 06/05/2023 11:44

Charlotte looks like a perfect little princess, absolutely nailed the outfits.

Penny Mordaunt will still feel like she’s holding that sword tomorrow!

I was going to ask this.
Some in robes, some in white tie, couple in tunics

Who's this ?

Welsh composer of one of the pieces played before the King arrived. Possibly for the new Royal harpist?

Babymamamama · 06/05/2023 11:44

This is Zadoc

SoupDragon · 06/05/2023 11:44

Casuaala · 06/05/2023 11:42

(Honestly, the commentary on Prince Louis disturbs me. Have we not learned anything from Prince Andrew and Prince Harry?).

Exactly what is disturbing?

BordoisAgain · 06/05/2023 11:44

Coronationcapers · 06/05/2023 11:43

Who's this ?

Karl Jenkins, the composer

polkadotdalmation · 06/05/2023 11:44

Oh wow! Zadoc!!!

PermanentTemporary · 06/05/2023 11:44

@Coronationcapers it's the Welsh composer of i think the harp piece early on - Karl Jenkins.

CruCru · 06/05/2023 11:44

I bet the choristers have been practising this for years.

UndercoverCop · 06/05/2023 11:44

@DrunkLineDancing @ConstanceReid Louis is five, a child, are the comments really necessary?
If he does have ADHD (unlikely and even more unlikely to be diagnosed at his age) your comments are targeting a child because of his neurodiversity and if not, it's just as bad using a medical condition as an insult to completely usual behaviours for a child his age. The comments about medication and Ritalin also completely miss the point that amphetamine based medications for a neurotypical person would act as a stimulant not a tranquilliser.

Who's this ?

I think he is a Welsh bloke who has written some music for today

PickoftheMix · 06/05/2023 11:44

Isn't it strange to think the queen was only 27 when she had this. Must have been so scary, especially as it wasn't diverse/modern like now!

KrasiTime · 06/05/2023 11:44

Zadoc!!

You're right. My bad.

I expect Louis is more used to sitting through assembly's etc now he's at school?

Yes, and a year older than the Jubilee. There were rehearsals for this - if he hadn't coped with them presumably he wouldn't have come, it wasn't made public in advance.

adviceatthislatestage · 06/05/2023 11:45

Love the highlighted passages so Welby doesn’t read the wrong part and promise to be a good king 😂

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 06/05/2023 11:45

Here we go!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 06/05/2023 11:45

Penny is still holding that sword...! My arms would be toast.

I agree the comments about a young child are out of order. Leave the dcs alone.
