Settling down on the sofa with celebratory tea and scones ready for a couple of hours of right royal pomp and circumstance?

Or something else altogether?

I’ll be taking my son to his golf lesson, then for lunch in the club bar (which might be showing the coronation, unless there cricket on somewhere in the world). Off for a curry Saturday evening, which I might rebrand our Coronation Curry.

Interested to hear everyone else’s plans..

Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow, but will have the Coronation on in the background. DH commented that it's usually Coronation Street in the background, this time it's just Coronation without the "Street"... 🙄😂

Use74074345 · 05/05/2023 15:53

I shall watch bits of the Coronation so I may be watching tv then, I'm retired so its not wasting my day to just watch TV, if I worked all week then I would probably want to do other things so as not to waste the weekend. I'm hoping DH will be clearing the garage out and going to the tip.

Hbh17 · 05/05/2023 15:55

I'll be about 3 hours in watching all the Coronation coverage, and stay watching right to the end. I'm so excited to see all of it!

Probably half watching the TV whilst helping ds revise and Dd make meringues and lemon drizzle cake.

MrBit · 05/05/2023 16:00

I love all the pageantry so I'll be watching

QuintanaRoo · 05/05/2023 16:02

Definitely watching it all. Will coverage only start at 11? I’ve got a gym class at crack of Dawn and will be home by 9am expecting to settle on the sofa…..with cake!

Stressybetty · 05/05/2023 16:04

BBC coverage starts from 7.30am but procession doesn't start till 10.30. Assume first 3 hours are BBC talking to people in the crowds, explaining route, service etc, going over history of coronation and Charles and showing the arrivals to church. Will probably be up before then and pottering around with it on but won't sit down to watch until the procession starts. Concert supposed to start at 8pm which we want to see but can't see it on schedule unless it's the look back on the day ending at 8.30? maybe just on iplayer.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/05/2023 16:10

Eating egg, bacon and avocado toast, drinking a bucket of black coffee and wondering why the fuck I only ever wake up naturally on time on my bloody days off.

megletthesecond · 05/05/2023 16:15

Watching the coronation on TV after parkrun with a cup of tea.

Doowop1919 · 05/05/2023 16:16

I'll be watching it. Not a royalist but having studied history to master level, I'm looking forward to watching a coronation live.

The concert is on Sunday, thats probably why you can't see it, I will be watching the concert as well

hettiethehare · 05/05/2023 17:05

All usual Saturday morning activities seem to be off tomorrow, so I'll be watching the coronation. I did medieval history at university so I'm fairly interested in the ceremonial aspects.

lap90 · 05/05/2023 14:19

Oh it's at 11? I'll be at the gym as I usually am on Saturday morning.

Likewise, I've got a spin class at 11am!

brilliant thanks!

merryhouse · 05/05/2023 17:24

H and I will sit in front of the tv with some pate and cava. Then pudding party with the neighbours.

FatOaf · 05/05/2023 17:26

Going to the supermarket to pick up some stuff for my mum, then driving to her house. Not aware of anything happening that's in any way relevant to me.

BooksAndHooks · 05/05/2023 17:28

Watching it with family coming over, in between making the cakes and scones and quiches etc ready for Sunday.

RampantIvy · 05/05/2023 17:28

That’s not nice for dogs who are afraid of thunder.

Or horses?

bluechameleon · 05/05/2023 17:29

Either cleaning or getting a bit of work done because DH will be taking the DC for haircuts and martial arts class. I won't be watching the coronation.

Furiously · 05/05/2023 17:30

No idea but I definitely won’t be sitting on the sofa surrounded by Union Jacks swearing allegiance to the monarch

medianewbie · 05/05/2023 17:32

I have to be out tomorrow am. I have BBC iPlayer. Does anybody know if I can watch the whole thing later, or if I can only see highlights on catch up please?

FourChimneys · 05/05/2023 17:35

We have two things planned for the weekend. A mountain walk and emptying the airing cupboard before the new water tank is fitted next week. We will decide which happens tomorrow when we've seen the latest weather forecast.

Anything the Windsor bloke is doing is so far removed from me and my life that I doubt if he'll cross my mind all day.

Pascha · 05/05/2023 17:36

Busy. I might hear it in the background I suppose.

ActDottie · 05/05/2023 17:39

Definitely not watching the coronation. I’ll probably have just got back from my morning run and be in the garden pottering about.

Crunchymum · 05/05/2023 17:44

We have swimming lessons but we'll hopefully see most of it.

I'm not massively fussed but think we'll watch the main event. It's history afterall.

Gonna grab some snacks for an indoor / carpet picnic.
