Settling down on the sofa with celebratory tea and scones ready for a couple of hours of right royal pomp and circumstance?

Or something else altogether?

I’ll be taking my son to his golf lesson, then for lunch in the club bar (which might be showing the coronation, unless there cricket on somewhere in the world). Off for a curry Saturday evening, which I might rebrand our Coronation Curry.

Interested to hear everyone else’s plans..

I’ll be at the gym, then at my desk, working (unlike the benefit scrounger Windsors). Will probably stream the ceremony coverage in the background. It’s an historical moment, after all.

May have to ROFL at being asked to stand and swear my allegiance though.

DustyLee123 · 05/05/2023 14:28

I won’t be watching any of it, history or not.

Veryfishy · 05/05/2023 14:28

Watching the Coronation with DH , some snacks to keep us going and a nice bottle of Cava ( might wait til the evening to drink that though )
Have just put my bunting out ( live in Wales , there’s not much decoration here , putting mine out to annoy the haters ) 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

I live in central london, so everything is either closed (inc my gym!) or hell on Earth. So I'll be trapped at home!

Get out now! Runaway while you still have the chance, find a nice quiet hotel in the countryside. Return late on Monday 🤣

HoldingTheDoor · 05/05/2023 14:31

Probably shopping or cleaning. I certainly won't be watching.

HoldingTheDoor · 05/05/2023 14:34

We will be getting the last few bits ready for our new family arrival, as we collect our new, adopted, dog on Sunday.

I'm envious. That's lovely. I hope that you'll all be very happy together.

Whichwhatnow · 05/05/2023 14:34

I am by no means a royalist and feel that the amount of money being spent on this is obscene. However it's a one off historical event so I will be watching out of curiosity.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 05/05/2023 14:35

Praying for thunder

ShortColdandGrey · 05/05/2023 14:36

Waiting on my daughter to finish her dance class.

Whichwhatnow · 05/05/2023 14:36

Also I have nothing else to do really tomorrow morning (going out later in the day to visit friends/for food) so would really only be watching crappy tv anyway - seems pointless to deliberately boycott it in favour of watching repeats of Come Dine With Me or whatever.

gwenneh · 05/05/2023 14:36

I'll be at the yard riding.

SusanSHelit · 05/05/2023 14:38

Picking up my dress for a wedding at the end of the month as well as some nice bits for tea. Dm is helping me wallpaper so I'm making a nice dinner as thanks. TV probably won't go on except for ds to watch a bit of YouTube or game

RampantIvy · 05/05/2023 14:40

I'm not as cool as most of the posters on this thread so I will have the coronation coverage on. I will be baking for a tea party for people with alzheimers and their carers on Sunday.

Dontcallmescarface · 05/05/2023 14:40

An hour into a 4 hour drive to the town where DD lives.

Snap - I’ll be 2 hours into the 3 hour drive to the town where DD lives :-)

SirChenjins · 05/05/2023 14:43

I’ll probably be watching it with one eye on the TV.

HoldingTheDoor · 05/05/2023 14:43

What's cool got to do with it? Why assume that we're trying to be cool? I'm certainly not. I find the whole thing offensive on many levels but I also just genuinely have no desire to watch it. It doesn't interest me. Nothing to do with being "cool."

FMLWTF · 05/05/2023 14:43

We’re putting up our projector to watch the proceedings. I’ll be stationed on the sofa from first thing as I enjoy the build up and I don’t think I’ll do much else until it’s all over! I’ll be texting my mum throughout I’m sure as she loves it all too. I’m not actually a mad royalist at all but I do love these big occasions.

SleazyLizzard · 05/05/2023 14:44

With the neighbours with their TV on , they’ve invited everyone in the street, so probably be some overspill.

Ohmych · 05/05/2023 14:44

I'll be in work unfortunately.

reluctantbrit · 05/05/2023 14:45

Grocery shopping and then sitting down in a cafe waiting for DD to finish with her paddle boarding session. I may watch a bit on my phone but most likely read.

If I would be at home I would watch it like I did with the funeral, TV on and doing other things.

Muddypaws20 · 05/05/2023 14:46

Celebrating the Coronation. All the family are going round to parents for brunch and to watch the tv. 5 yo will be dressing up and we have the bunting up. Really looking forward to it.

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 05/05/2023 14:48

We’re off to the local dump to do some recycling.

Infinitely preferable to watching rich bastards prance around in golden coaches with stolen jewels on their heads.

IHeartGeneHunt · 05/05/2023 14:48

It's my weekend off work so I'll be taking the child to her bike lesson.
