Settling down on the sofa with celebratory tea and scones ready for a couple of hours of right royal pomp and circumstance?

Or something else altogether?

I’ll be taking my son to his golf lesson, then for lunch in the club bar (which might be showing the coronation, unless there cricket on somewhere in the world). Off for a curry Saturday evening, which I might rebrand our Coronation Curry.

Interested to hear everyone else’s plans..

Garden centre.

1984Winston · 05/05/2023 15:14

Working but hoping it's not busy as people will think we are shut!

HoldingTheDoor · 05/05/2023 15:15

Jamie Oliver has created a new recipe for it and I’m giving it a go.

Thank you!

Going to reseal bath and sink tomorrow.

ThreeRingCircus · 05/05/2023 15:17

We're gathering at my mum's house with all the family to watch the coronation and then having a buffet lunch together. Coronation chicken sandwiches, the official quiche recipe and victoria sponge are all featuring. I'm looking forward to it to be honest!

Popetthetreehugger · 05/05/2023 15:17

New tyres booked for 830 , then food shopping, best bit of day … gardening! When I do catch any I know I’ll shout adulterous trollops at the the pair of them on the screen. ( I do know they will lose sleep over this 🤣) afternoon trying new things to cook for our latest health kick .

AuntieMarys · 05/05/2023 15:18

Vintage fair followed by day drinking, far away from the tv

Greydogs123 · 05/05/2023 15:18

I’ll have it on, but won’t be sitting and watching it. Just having a nosy every now and again. It’s curiosity more than anything else - we’ve not had a coronation for 70 years, so from a purely historical point of view it’s interesting.

stormelf · 05/05/2023 15:19

Taking son and daughter to their dance lessons and maybe in the library while waiting for one of them to finish their lesson

doubleoseven · 05/05/2023 15:20

Is it tomorrow then? I thought it was Monday hence the public holiday. Obviously have zero interest hence being clueless!

Angrymum22 · 05/05/2023 15:20

I genuinely thought it was on Monday since that was the bank holiday. Only realised yesterday when a friend was asking me what we were doing.
If the weather is fine I will be watching my DS play cricket but since the forecast is crap I will probably watch the coronation.

Booklover40 · 05/05/2023 15:20

Helping ds move house! I have bought some bunting etc but I'm not sure if I can be arsed really.

Looking out for my DS who will be there in Queens Colour Squadron
(Proud Mum 😁)

You have every right to be so proud. No one does an occasion like this better than the British.

Sloth66 · 05/05/2023 15:25

Meeting some friends, heading off to a National Trust garden and cafe.
Hoping it’ll be quiet, but given no one I know has said they are watching events tomorrow, maybe it’ll be rammed…

Sudeko · 05/05/2023 15:25

My DC have already boycotted it in advance. I won't be bribing them to watch it as I am not keen on those two. I don't think they have behaved decently enough to deserve to be celebrated (especially Charles who always knew he would be king one day). I don't respect them or find them interesting.

AlltheFs · 05/05/2023 15:25

I’ll be getting in from the horse and watching the coronation with a cream tea. Looking forward to it. We have friends in the forces taking part so we play “spot the horse/officer”

As I have a 3 year old it will be interspersed with various games too.

Ilikewinter · 05/05/2023 15:25

Ill be in Tescos like every other Saturday morning 🤣🤣

RampantIvy · 05/05/2023 14:40

I'm not as cool as most of the posters on this thread so I will have the coronation coverage on. I will be baking for a tea party for people with alzheimers and their carers on Sunday.

Well done, you.

Qilin · 05/05/2023 15:35

I'm not going out til the evening so shall be in the house.
DD is back from university for the weekend but is working on final assignments most of the time and I think DH wants to sort some bits in the garden.

Will no doubt have the TV on and see some of the coronation; will probably do a little bit of work for school at the same time. Think both dh and DD will watch buts as well, much as we did hen it was the jubilee and the funeral.

We do have some scones and nice sandwich stuff coming in the supermarket delivery in the morning so that's lunch sorted too.

queenatom · 05/05/2023 15:35

Will depend on the weather and what kind of mood my toddler's in. If it's rubbish weather and he's in a decent mood then we'll probably be in and I'll have the Coronation coverage on in the background. If it's nice weather there's a local market I want to check out; if kiddo is in a bad humour then we'll likely head to soft play for some distraction.

Mumski45 · 05/05/2023 15:36

Out for a bike ride as usual.

Xiaoxiong · 05/05/2023 15:37

We're watching, friends coming round and we're having lunch together with the coronation projected on the wall.

Praying for thunder

That’s not nice for dogs who are afraid of thunder.

teethiepegs · 05/05/2023 15:48

I'll be working (student midwife on placement).

GrannieD · 05/05/2023 15:48

Post parkrun breakkie !
