After the death of Paul o Grady it occurred to me I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him before or after death- ditto George Michael Other celebs I can think of are David Attenborough and Peter Kay Are there any others?

I always thought Winnie was male
I had a guinea-pig called Winnie who proved to be 100% female by smuggling in a well hidden pregnancy and producing a piglet .

Though WtP strides about in a top and no knickers so I'm going for a stab in the dark and calling "male"

You probably won't see a male bear's penis because it's kept inside the body, there is a little external nub like a dog's, and it's belly is covered in hair. So you won't know if Winnie is Winnipeg or Winefred unless so close they are really up close and personal.

It was me who feels it was a horribly inappropriate thing to say. I couldn't articulate why at the time so I left the thread.

i didn't like the use of the words "models" and "attractive" - the whole concept is crass, insensitive and shallow - it trivialises the idea that those who return from war damaged and possibly mutilated, with PTSD, might need a model or attractive person to rehabilitate them. Really? I also don't like the idea that it commoditise women. I also don't like that it would take someone's physical appearance to make the difference. Not someone's intelligence, compassion, their humanity.

As I say I have no words, but then I have significant experience as a Caseworker volunteer to have worked at close quarters with people who have sustained lifelong injuries from conflict including PTSD, drug and alcohol abuse as coping mechanisms and the last thing that will help them get better is an attractive model.

Nothing wrong with being attractive and entirely natural for someone to get an ego boost from being seen out with someone attractive. And why are you assuming that attractive people aren't intelligent or compassionate?

I hadn't thought about it before, but I think you are right about Michael Portillo.

@Morethanthis71 absolutely yes Jayne Torvill. Absolute sweetheart in real life and never heard a bad word about her. Much as I love Chris too he's had his moments.

Agree with Michael Palin and Victoria Wood. But never got the love for David Attenborough, so boring, and Bernard Cribbins, miserable sod in RL.

I think Champion is self-identifying as Pedigree Chum and Copydex glue by now so we can breathe easy that he wont be sending his lawyers round .

Champion died in 1943 (according to Google ) which was before even I was born then they brought in a new horse and thought we wouldn't notice as it was in black and white .
