My favourite lip balms have been discontinued

I have been using Kiehl's Butterstick Lip Treatment and Aveda's Lip Saver for years. I'm loyal. Now, Kiehl's has discontinued the stick in favour of a squeeze tube product and Aveda has changed their formula dropping the spf. (?!).
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good lip balm in a stick with spf?
Any anyone else with a similar situation of trying to replace a beloved product?

Ultrasun lip balm. Great for all year round.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/04/2023 20:38

Thanks for the recommendation! Looking online now. 🤓

My favourite lip balm has been discontinued too - it’s the Boots Strawberry Lip Salve. I’ve been using it for years, it’s pretty cheap and basic but so much nicer than the awful blue original one. So annoying when they do this!

I second Ultrasun. Ultraviolette also do tinted lip balms with spf however they are slightly sticky

Itakecreaminmycoffee · 18/04/2023 21:20

I love burts bees pomegranate, it gives a slight colour and tastes/smells lovely.

I also bought a tinted lip balm from space nk recently called Sugar lip therapy - it smells/looks lovely but I prefer the texture of burts bees (and bb is £3-4 compared to £22 for the space nk one!)

Burts Bees lip balm

tatteddear · 18/04/2023 21:29

Regular old carmex

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/04/2023 21:34

I just messaged Kiehl's and was actually given an honest answer at first response. Person said didn't know why the product was discontinued as they weren't given the info.
At least it was honest! Usually customer service reps side step questions and just direct you to another product which is maddening.

Burts bees watermelon or cucumber mint

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/04/2023 21:40

I think I'll pop by the drug store and pick up a couple to try from the suggestion here. I'm in Canada, so a couple suggestions here are not available to me, but others are. I used Blistex for years before discovering Aveda's lip balm and then found Kiehl's and was hooked. It was that good!

Thanks for the link Hex. I appreciate you taking the time to do that. I may have to re-visit this old fave.

Two have mentioned Ultrasun, but it looks like I can't get it or Manbi here.

Beauty Pie do a fab lip balm with SPF in a stick formulation.

IwanttoworkforThomasNightingale · 18/04/2023 21:48

Another vote for Burts Bees. I like the honey one.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/04/2023 21:52

Cloud, it doesn't seem Beauty Pie has one with spf.

I use the Norwegian Formula spf20 lip balm. It isn’t the fanciest, but it’s reliable and is about £3.

Manbi. Got it for skiing but good lord it’s good.

I’ve not heard of this one! What’s it like-why’s it so good?

Purplepepsi · 18/04/2023 23:35

I love lanolips and its spf 30 but in a squeezy tube thing.

I use ultrasun on holiday. Burts bees do an spf one too.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 19/04/2023 03:39

I bought a Burt's Bees with spf 15 and a Blistex with spf 15. Report to follow. 🤓
