I user to work with a crowd of Scots and several Irish people and they used to laugh and take the piss out of each constantly. Great bunch of people especially on a night out, everyone's face would be aching from laughter.

I'm Scottish and I couldn't care less about someone wearing a See You Jimmy hat.

That probably says more about you than the hat - I'm also from Yorkshire, and I'd find it amusing.
