Coming from another thread about CFs that was massively derailed, thread derailment is at the top of my list of CF behaviour on Mumsnet.
What is yours?

OP posts:
AmandaHoldensLips · 10/04/2023 11:24

Women asking if they should leave their violent abusive lazy arsehole partner who they are pregnant from (again).

WandaWonder · 10/04/2023 11:34

'Partner puts a pencil on a desk horizontal not vertical/puts the butter on the top not the second shelf down/uses the wrong colour garbage bag'

'You have to get rid'

harriethoyle · 10/04/2023 11:35

People who quote the whole the op to reply to it. It's CLEAR you're replying to the OP, that's pretty much the point of people posting in response!

ThisIsWednesday · 10/04/2023 11:38

1) The ones that go and look at previous OPs posts to ‘call them out’

I agree with this. I regularly name change AND alter story details a bit. Sometimes I have 2 kids, sometimes 3. Sometimes ages get changed by a year or two, where we live, what sexes my kids are, whether we have a cat or dog etc and it's just to throw off people who could possibly know me and recognise a situation.

Reverse threads!

I've yet to come across an actual reverse thread! Are they even a thing? I've seen lots of threads where people are asking if it's a reverse though!

Stonetolose · 10/04/2023 11:49

Great title for a thread.

Honestly I'm not place marking (😀as I'm already watching this thread).

Manichean · 10/04/2023 11:52

Countless anti Trans threads started for the flimsiest of reasons.

incandescentglow · 10/04/2023 11:55

when someone has a problem with their husband and someone replies "just leave him" as if its that easy?? to 'just' leave? idk why but it winds me up

and definitely the "and what did you say when you brought it to the managers attention?" or something like that

MabelFurball · 10/04/2023 11:56

Loads of posts deleted by Admin so the thread ends up full of holes and not making any sense - this post refers to a deleted post etc.

LutherRalph1 · 10/04/2023 11:58

Being the first to reply and quoting the whole Op
It's right there ffs

Blossomandbee · 10/04/2023 12:00

When people post their line eyes/pregnancy test photos and there is nearly always someone who jumps on the replies with 'this is my test this morning, can anyone see a line on my test?'
Start your your own thread ffs.

GMOOH2023 · 10/04/2023 12:01

@Passmethecrisps there was a thread recently where a lady was anxious that her friends weren’t going to turn up for drinks as planned. She could see they had read her message but hadn’t replied and the time was getting closer. I felt sad and anxious for her but so many people were being so unkind “you sound like hard work.” The friends didn’t turn up and suddenly all the eye rollers disappeared

As did the OP - she didn't come back with any sort of update.
How do you know the friends didn't turn up?

Sweeted · 10/04/2023 12:03

"I couldn't get worked up over this."

Well, good for you, you fucking doormat.

Sweeted · 10/04/2023 12:04

MEN who dive in to give you the man's perspective when you neither asked nor cared.

Snazzysausage · 10/04/2023 12:05

Jellytotsburnmytongue · 10/04/2023 10:31

This one gets brought up all the time, but people who jump on threads just to say 'i couldn't possibly eat all that!' I bet in real life they can eat all that and more.

Yes this,it's really tedious.Whereas I usually think "yum sounds lovely!"

Sweeted · 10/04/2023 12:07

Obnoxious posters who thrive on being the type to tell it like it is. (you know the ones, you see the reply, roll your eyes and mumble "rude cunt" then look back at their username and think "yep. Course it's you. Dick.

Oh yes, I could name a few! They were rampant on my last post. Rabid. 😂

SkyandSurf · 10/04/2023 12:08

Ridiculous anti-trans threads all over the site, rabidly agreeing with each other. They have their own section for a reason.

SchoolTripDrama · 10/04/2023 12:08

@Mookie81 That's happening on the CF running Chinese thread. It's ridiculous!

The what thread?! May I ask what the title is please? I must've missed that one

SkyandSurf · 10/04/2023 12:10

Also people throwing out suggestions like:

'Sleep in the spare room'
'Have a spa day'
'Move out to your own place'

To posters who are clearly skint and scraping by.

sadieshavingashindig · 10/04/2023 12:18

"You do realise [something something] don't you?"

ReformedWaywardTeen · 10/04/2023 12:24

Bluegrass · 10/04/2023 09:53

Not reading the original post before launching in with some bullshit comment based on completely incorrect assumptions that had already been clearly addressed if only the fucker could have been arsed to read properly.

[and breathe]

Yes!

I've had that on more than one thread when frankly I think they're just miserable feckers and do it to be nasty.

JesusHRooseveltChristSassenach · 10/04/2023 12:24

When a (usually female) poster starts a thread about a low sex/sex less marriage and how unhappy it is making her and then loads of replies about how much they'd love that situation!

How the fuck is that relevant? The OP is asking for advice. Not useless comments.

Pisses me right off

PSNonsense · 10/04/2023 12:28

SkyandSurf · 10/04/2023 12:08

Ridiculous anti-trans threads all over the site, rabidly agreeing with each other. They have their own section for a reason.

If there are anti-trans threads 'all over the place' then report them. Women agreeing that sex based spaces should be preserved, sport, prisons etc isn't anti-trans, but this is difficult to grasp for some people, granted.

Lillygolightly · 10/04/2023 12:28

When posters suggest that the OP go out for the day and and leave the very young kids with their sleeping and very hungover dad so he can learn his lesson

I get the sentiment I really do, but would you really be able to just buggar off out the house leaving your young kids with with someone (dad) if you weren’t sure he was in any fit state to be caring for them and able to keep them safe??!!

Onemyownhere · 10/04/2023 12:32
