How is your Easter Sunday morning going?

I'm still in bed, the grandparents are taking dc to church this morning. We are having a roast tomorrow as some of the family have to work to today, so I really have no need to rush out of bed. The dc haven't even asked about Easter Eggs yet! Growing up it would have been chocolate for breakfast at my house, then a rush to get ready for church and straight to my grandparents for a roast dinner and more Easter eggs. Tell me about your morning.

Another DH not well so I have put a chicken in the oven and retreated to Munsnet for a bit. DD home from university is yet to emerge. I should be gardening but don't feel to great myself and it's nippy out. Supposed to be going on a walk later but have my doubts.

meant to be going to a national trust property garden later.
that's about it.
no dc around today.

DD 2.5 was awake at 6.30. She’s been full of Easter bunny talk lately, partly fuelled by grandparents/ playgroup but mostly I think because she’s watched the Easter episode of Bluey a few times this week. Luckily though she’d forgotten all about it first thing this morning so was happy to get in our bed for a bit and we didn’t have to jump up straight away.

Came down to fine her little basket with chocolate in, had also got her a few stickers and things. She’s been asking for goggles for a while and as we’re going away next week and will be swimming a lot I’d ordered her some. They arrived last night after she was in bed, so now she thinks the Easter bunny brought those too, and has pretty much worn them all day.

She ate half a milkybar small egg and a chocolate lollipop for breakfast, whilst DH and I had a hot cross bun. She also wanted her usual porridge and raspberries.

We did a little hunt for plastic eggs (I put a mini chocolate inside each) in the garden.

DH has peeled and chopped the potatoes and veg for lunch, in laws coming later. DD and I have done some drawing and some sticker books and we’re just having a cuddle in front of CBeebies before getting changed, still in our pjs!

Just DH and I here so no egg hunt. We were in bed uncharacteristically early last night after a long day trip to France, so up with the lark and out for a run.

Just had brunch and in an hour we're off to meet friends for a long country ramble followed by tea and cake.

Lamb fillets for dinner later with some French wine and an episode or two of the drama we started watching last night (The Affair), plus chocolate.

Just about my perfect day really.

Horse mucked out and turned out by 9, egg hunt laid out in the garden. Everyone is showered and dressed and DD (3) playing waiting for my parents to arrive.
DH does lunch and has got the lamb in. Everything is clean-ish and tidy-ish and calm and the sun is out.
Good so far!

Mine are all teenagers so no rush to see if the Easter Bunny has been! Having a leisurely lunch and a walk in the countryside after. Normally there would be protests but I'm 50 today so they have to do what I say. 😂

I have no little ones to do an egg hunt for. DS has gone to work and DD is hiding in her room as she’s feeling a bit low.

I took DDog for a nice long walk and to the beach earlyish.

BIL and SIL are coming for a roast and my oven dramatically gave up the ghost last night!!!

Luckily the meat is gammon so that’s in the slow cooker. Going to attempt roast potatoes in the air fryer and all the veg can be done on the hob.

Wine will be consumed any minute now and DH is doing all the chores and will clear up after lunch so I’m actually pretty chilled!

Just a chilled day here. The kids woke up at 7 & found their Easter eggs. Oldest is now listening to Hamilton and youngest is reading dog man. Will have a shower and take the little one out on her bike soon while oldest & DH cook a roast. Might go for a walk down to the river & visit the ice cream van later.
