How many people do you know with Covid right now?

I know many people are not testing but I need to for my work.

I felt really sick and tested negative, but it was positive the next day. I’m feeling fairly rough, tired, no sense of smell, all the usual things. Two of the days I was incredibly wheezy.

A few days ago I was out with friends, half of us have tested positive and have symptoms. My son - who wasn’t out with us - now has it.

I know of two people currently in hospital with it.

I don’t know if this is being replicated as a new wave around the country, or just in my circle in Glasgow.

DH and I both have it. We test regularly as we are carers for MIL who is very vulnerable. Interestingly I tested using our last NHS test and was able to register the result but DH tested on a bought test and the Gov website wouldn’t recognize his test! So the numbers only represent those who have tested using NHS tests and who can be bothered to register the result.

Four of us had it about 6 weeks ago, I currently know 3 people.

CiaoBellisima · 07/04/2023 11:36

Currently 7. I have a large workplace, but this is in just one department.

Oh and one other who has been displaying symptoms but still testing negative. The boss sent them home anyway.

rc22 · 07/04/2023 11:44

DH and I had it the week before last. Another friend had it and a couple of people at my work.

I've still got long covid from 14 months ago, slowly improving but it has been a long haul. I was so ill for a couple of months and I've never felt so ill in my life. I really don't want to have it again.

NillyNoMates · 07/04/2023 16:04

Three: my elderly father, my young niece, and my colleague.

BettyBootsie · 07/04/2023 16:11

7 I think in the past 2 weeks at my work (including me) - plus another few there who most likely had it but claim "it's just a bad cold" they have. It spread pretty fast once it got in this time.

JustDanceAddict · 07/04/2023 16:14

A couple of people. Everyone I know tests if they have symptoms as it’s polite.
I’m not mega paranoid but my health hasn’t been the same since I got covid last year & I wasn’t even that ill.

MajorCarolDanvers · 07/04/2023 16:16

None

AuntieMarys · 07/04/2023 16:18

None. I know no one who tests

MyDarlingClementine · 07/04/2023 16:25

Who is spreading panic??

Op at the moment only one person.

LlynTegid · 07/04/2023 16:31

None, last one was about three weeks ago. A family member had it in February.

Lamplit · 07/04/2023 18:08

Nursed a patient who sadly died of covid a few days ago. Another admitted critically ill this morning. Other than that we haven't had many patients with it recently.

DinosApple · 07/04/2023 18:09

In the last week all 4 of us in the house have had it. We used the last of our tests to check.

My cousins were visiting a few weeks ago and we had a family gathering- 13 out of 15 of us have it. But it's been double pronged as Covid has been kicking about at the school I work in too.

I've been surprised how knocked for 6 we've all been.

belikejeff · 07/04/2023 18:11

One.

Me Confused

Felt fine this morning then a sore throat and headache appeared at 3pm so I did a test. Instant positive.

Bang goes the weekend plans.

Schmutter · 07/04/2023 18:14

In my experience, I now only ever hear covid mentioned on MN.

My brother in law is a hospital respiratory consultant, I can’t think of the last time he mentioned covid. MN would have you think it’s still rife.

CoffeeWithCheese · 07/04/2023 18:24

I had a really really shitty cold - which was tested and was not Covid. Twas just a really shitty cold versus an immune system battered from stress.

And am I really spreading panic?

None. But then I don’t know anyone who is still testing.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 07/04/2023 18:29

None but most of my office have a nasty cold, including me.

We’ve got three, all seriously ill. Unfortunately we lost a patient last night. It’s still very much a thing with us.

JimmyDurham · 07/04/2023 19:01

None.

PeonyFairy · 07/04/2023 19:23

I hadn't heard of anyone with it for months but then suddenly a few friends have it for the first time. They test because they care for very elderly parents.

mamaduckbone · 07/04/2023 20:05

No one.
I haven't known of anyone testing positive since the week before Christmas and lots of my circle would test of showing symptoms as I'm a teacher.
