How many people do you know with Covid right now?

I know many people are not testing but I need to for my work.

I felt really sick and tested negative, but it was positive the next day. I’m feeling fairly rough, tired, no sense of smell, all the usual things. Two of the days I was incredibly wheezy.

A few days ago I was out with friends, half of us have tested positive and have symptoms. My son - who wasn’t out with us - now has it.

I know of two people currently in hospital with it.

I don’t know if this is being replicated as a new wave around the country, or just in my circle in Glasgow.

I’ve had it three times; this time I haven’t been horribly ill, but decidedly unwell and unhappy.

I gave it - it's an awful dose. DH had it too. MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL - all separately

FrenchandSaunders · 07/04/2023 09:24

I’m in London and don’t know anyone who is testing …. also don’t know anyone unwell at the mo

What work places are still testing? If you have symptoms only for care homes etc isn't it?
I don't know anyone who even mentions it now.

FrenchandSaunders · 07/04/2023 09:25

Same here, never hear the word covid these days.

Randomuser9876 · 07/04/2023 09:28

I had it 5 weeks ago for the first time. Was really ill and took ages to feel better, I also had loads of random symptoms while recovering such as nerve pain in teeth which was checked by a dentist and was nothing to do with teeth themselves.

I know a few people who had it recently but who knows as no one testing. I only did as my mum was in hospital at the time and wanted to know for visits.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/04/2023 09:28

None that we know of.

DanceMonster · 07/04/2023 09:30

I don’t know any. Admittedly I don’t know anyone who is still testing (except my mum who works in the NHS), but equally no one in my circle has mentioned that they’re unwell at the moment. Seems to be a period of good health after all the winter bugs here.

WillowtreeHouse · 07/04/2023 09:31

I work in a school and we had about 5 off last week with it. Loads of kids off but not sure if CoVID or not. It'll be fine for a couple of weeks after we get back then the cycle will start again I guess.

Timeforchangeithink · 07/04/2023 09:32

Clackmannanshire - None

LongLostNailVarnish · 07/04/2023 09:34

I knew one person, a couple of weeks ago, they only knew because someone they had spent time with had it, so they tested to see, but they had no symptoms so they just came to work with a mask on. around a similar time 7 people were quite unwell with fluey symptoms and and were off work. I also had swollen throat, bad chest, funny feeling ears, horrid cough and felt ill, it lasted 2 weeks, but didn't feel at all like the 2 previous covids I'd had so think it was just a nasty cold/flu thing.

no body is testing anymore so it's really hard to know.

FlounderingFruitcake · 07/04/2023 09:34

People are still testing?? No one I know is. Lots of people I know have colds though, so at least a couple probably have covid.

HippyChickMama · 07/04/2023 09:36

My parents and grandparents had it a couple of weeks ago for the first time, all vaccinated and had boosters, all quite unwell. I had close contact with all of them while providing care, I'm vaccinated and had all boosters and also had covid just over 18 months ago and I didn't catch it.

Crunchymum · 07/04/2023 09:36

London here. Friend tested positive (not sure why she tested to be honest? She has no real requirements to do so). Other than her I don't know anyone who still tests.

SweetSakura · 07/04/2023 09:36

I had it a couple of weeks ago. I have to rest as I get sent antivirals. Despite the antivirals I was still pretty ill, and two weeks later I can only manage a couple of hours a day out of bed.

SweetSakura · 07/04/2023 09:37

*test, not rest. Although I do have rest as well!

TheChosenTwo · 07/04/2023 09:37

No one that I know of.
In our house of 5, 4 of us had it one after the other and the other has never had it.
Don’t test anymore so I guess we wouldn’t know if we had it.

Some of us still get sent free tests because if we get COVID we have to be sent antivirals urgently.

YellowGreenBlue · 07/04/2023 09:39

I don't know anyone who tests regularly, but I think quite a few people test "out of interest" if they're feeling ill.

I know two people who have tested positive within the last couple of weeks. Both had it mildly and fine now.

Beezknees · 07/04/2023 09:39

Nobody I know tests any more, so I wouldn't know if anyone had it.

Sausagis · 07/04/2023 09:39

Over 2 weeks ago.. no one
In the last 2 weeks.. 13

Whatthediddlyfeck · 07/04/2023 09:40

Plenty coughs and colds on the go, which are all some kind of a coronavirus…no one I know is testing because it doesn’t make any difference to give it a name.

Disclaimer-I lost my dad to covid, amd I’ve been hospitalised with it so don’t start with abuse about my thoughts about it

Christmascracker0 · 07/04/2023 09:40

I have it just now too! This is the first time I’ve had it and it’s really floored me. I’m in Edinburgh.

It does for those of us who have to request antivirals if we get.covid..

Sorry for your loss Flowers

Christmascracker0 · 07/04/2023 09:43

Also - I tested because I knew I had been in contact with someone with covid and my mum is on chemo.

What I had was not “just a cold”, I wouldn’t say it was similar to a cold at all.
