What does your bedding consist of

Reading the other thread about making your bed or not and noticed many different bedding styles so am curious what people have on their beds.

What goes on your bed? Sheets, pillows, blankets, etc. Items? Fabrics? Number?

Mattress protector, sometimes a thick down topper depending on weather. It has a cover. Fitted sheet, sometimes a flat sheet but depends on the fabric as some feel funny on my skin (sensory issues), I like the ideal of a duvet but haven't found one that doesn't feel funny. So I tend to use the duvet cover without a duvet inside just to make the bed and not actually use. Next comes a soft coral fleece type blanket that I take one of various sizes everywhere as I can't sleep without one. 4 king sized down pillows. Fabrics have to be plush/velvet like, satin, or silk.

Am I the only person who doesn't use a duvet. We have a superking bed and I always hated changing the duvet cover.
We got rid of the duvet & now just sleep under a flat sheet & really nice quilt that I bought in John Lewis. On cold nights we might but an extra blanket over the quilt.
It's much easier changing the bed clothes now & I think the quilt looks neater on the bed.
Our house is a new build so it's very well insulated.

Mattress topper, fitted sheet, duvet, 4 pillows, a throw that is folded on the foot of the bed during the day and spread out at night so the cat doesn’t get the duvet furry & 5 decorative cushions that are taken off at night

paisley256 · 03/04/2023 23:57

Superking Mattress
Memory foam topper
Egyptian cotton flat sheet
Down king-size duvet with 100% cotton cover.
4 latex pillows.
Crochet blanket.
Teddys and my cat.
I just love my bed 🙂

Rockfordpeach · 04/04/2023 00:05

Home: king size memory foam mattress, mattress topper, fitted cotton sheet, king-size duvet with cotton cover, two pillows and some decorative cushions and throw

Work (care home I sleep in 3 nights a week): sprung double mattress, fitted sheet, coverless duvet, one pillow.

80sMum · 04/04/2023 00:08

I have a mattress protector, a sheet, a duvet, a fleece throw, a foam wedge, 3 full size pillows, 3 small pillows, a hot water bottle and a heat pad! 😂

elm26 · 04/04/2023 00:12

A hotel collection topper, then mattress protector, fitted deep sheet as I can't bare them pinging off the ends and our mattress is deep.a duck feather duvet, 2 normal pillows and 2 duck feather ones.

I love my bed, like sleeping on a cloud 😂🥰

quietnightmare · 04/04/2023 00:14

Silk duvet, silk bed sheet silk pillowcases because apparently it helps keep my hair in a good condition and I love shaving (legs not head) and the way it feels. Also I have no pets so no problems with snagging/ripping

quietnightmare · 04/04/2023 00:14

And 860000090 pillows to be removed each night

Nat6999 · 04/04/2023 00:14

Mattrss & pillow protectors, king size duvet & cover, fitted sheet, top sheet, throw on end of bed. I hate changing duvet covers so use a top sheet to keep it clean.

TheOtherBennetSister · 04/04/2023 00:18

We have a massive superking bed with a single duvet each. I like being in charge of my own duvet and not having to share.
In winter I pile duvets and blanket on top of my side, and my massive weirdo of a dh sleeps enveloped in a nasty polyester fleece blanket like a taco.

Teaseall · 04/04/2023 00:33

Standard double bed frame that's fairly ancient so have removed the slats and cushioned with felt before putting them back to reduce creak.

Panda mattress topper as I hated it as a topper and have no where else to store it (unless I bin it).

Memory foam mattress (passed its best but can't afford to replace)
Cotton deep fitted sheet
Cotton flat sheet
Thin 4 tog duvet and another thin older duvet as it's winter (think it's 10 tog) and my bedroom is north facing.
Cotton duvet cover
Two pillows in cotton slips but these are tossed aside for sleeping in favour of a shaped memory foam pillow in silk pillow case.

That's the basics for me BUT I then have to create a nest on the other side of my bed (I'm single Smile) with my discarded pillows, lined with either my dressing gown, my fake fur jacket or my fleece lined hoodie for the flipping cat! And he still manages to push me to the edge of the mattress by the morning and then proceeds to walk across my face until I give in and get up to feed him.

I do sleep surprising well though Grin

Sheet, duvet, pillow.

Ponderingwindow · 04/04/2023 01:35

Mattress protector. Stretchy fitted sheet. Cooling top sheet. Open weave knit cooling weighted blanket.

Theoldwoman · 04/04/2023 01:38

4 regular pillows
bottom fitted sheet
top sheet
coverlet

then in colder months :

a woollen blanket
an electric blanket

Sheets and pillowcases are always white only.
Coverlet is also white.

Theoldwoman · 04/04/2023 01:50

Oh and of course mattress protector, pillow protectors and mattress topper.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 04/04/2023 01:58

I knew I wouldn't be the only ultra-padded sleeper here! Working up from the mattress, which is only 6 months old:
Mattress protector, cotton on top, polyester underneath
Goose down duvet (just storing it there, basically)
Bounceback duvet folded into three, down the centre of the bed
Big fat mattress topper
Mattress protector, all cotton
Fitted bottom sheet
Flat top sheet
Electric blanket (don't like that it's polyester, do like the heat)
Goose down duvet in cover
Six feather & down pillows in padded protectors
Pillow cases
All my linen is white, 400TC cotton.

I changed it all yesterday, so everything's at its best and I'm having an early night! Sweet dreams, everybody.

I don’t understand the bit about the duvet “folded into three, down the centre of the bed” … doesn’t that mean there’s a big lump in the centre of the bed?

Snugglemonkey · 04/04/2023 02:18

Mattress protector, fitted sheet, 4 pillows, pillow cases, duvet, duvet cover.

QuizzlyBears · 04/04/2023 06:28

Wonderful mattress, marshmallow like topper, fitted sheet, flat sheet, duvet in cover. 4 pillows in pillow protectors and then covers. 2 cushions but they get moved for sleeping! Duvet and top pillows are always white cotton, sheets and other pillows are sage green. I also have a beautiful handmade green yarn blanket which is huge and snuggly and one of my favourite things in the world, that’s on the end of the bed.

It kind of does - more of a gentle rise down the middle, and it's soft. I sleep mainly in the centre of the bed, so this gives me more support and compensates for compression in the mattress/topper.
