What does your bedding consist of

Reading the other thread about making your bed or not and noticed many different bedding styles so am curious what people have on their beds.

What goes on your bed? Sheets, pillows, blankets, etc. Items? Fabrics? Number?

Mattress protector and thick topper then a king size fitted sheet (brushed cotton soon to be swapped for crisp cotton) always white. White flat sheet then duvet with cover. Using a flat sheet between the bed and the duvet has been a washing game changer!
Four pillows - 2 white under pillows and 2 top ones. Duvet cover and pillow cases also often white but currently a sage green oak leaf design. Two enormous cushions and two smaller (for comfortable reading/TV watching nest) with sage green velvet covers.
Sheets and pillow cases washed weekly or maybe fortnightly, duvet cover less frequently.

Mattress topper , fitted sheet , duvet (4 tog ) + cover , blanket ( for the dog ) and about 8 pillows , although I throw 2 off when I’m going to sleep .

ToThineOwnSelfBe · 03/04/2023 17:26

Mattress, mattress topper, mattress protector, deep-pocket fitted sheet; then we have separate duvets because I use a 4.5 tog all year round and he switches between two or three different togs of duvet throughout the year, then duvet covers obviously and then a bedspread or blanket (because the two duvets get folded in half so they both fit on the bed without hanging on the floor and it looked messy, plus all the bed linens are white, pillowcases included so the bedspread is a changeable pop of color.)

Meandfour · 03/04/2023 17:52

Mattress, mattress protector, fitted sheet, flat sheet, duvet & cover, throw, 4 pillows, 3 large cushions & 4 little cushions. The cushions and the throw get taken off at night.

CatOnTheChair · 03/04/2023 17:58

Mattress protector. Filled sheet.
Duvet plus duvet cover.
3 pillows with covers (2 for me, 1for DH).

Used to have a cat throw over our feet, but it doesn't go in the new bedroom. So, cat has a veryexpensive cat blanket in the corner, and I'm looking for a new footblanket

Mattress, mattress protector, mattress topper, mattress protector, fitted sheet

Duvet, duvet protector, duvet cover

Four pillows, with pillow protectors and pillowcases

Washed each week or fortnight and protectors washed every few months.

What are you protecting everything from?

Ours is bottom sheet, duvet, pillows/cases, blanket for the cat to sleep on.

Cherrysoup · 03/04/2023 18:25

Electric blanket. Mattress protector. Brushed cotton bedding but silk pillowcases.

barelyfunctional · 03/04/2023 18:29

Sheet, duvet and duvet cover, pillows and pillowcases (two pillows for DP and one for me).

Someone on here said they have 3 pillows each, is that not really uncomfortable?? My neck would hurt so much. And the idea of having pillows ‘for show’ is so insane to me, who are you showing them to? Our bedroom is very much a private space.

MintJulia · 03/04/2023 18:31

Cotton bed linen, a 13.5 tog down duvet (this time of year), feather pillows and a wool throw.

When it warms up, I'll swap to a 10.5 tog duvet and get rid of the wool throw.

MiniTheMinx · 03/04/2023 18:34

Mattress protector, topper, fitted sheet. Large flat linen sheet, king size duvet and cover, six feather pillows, wool blanket, 3 large feather cushions. All bed linen is cotton, except linen sheets. At the moment I've got a sage green set on the bed. And usually a dog.

SeeWhatYouGetWhenYouAskAStupidQuestion · 03/04/2023 18:34

Mattress protector, mattress topper, sheet, thin (4.5 tog) duvet, shaped (ergonomic) pillow

We have three pillows each. I use them if I'm reading in bed. I sleep on two. No one sees my bedroom, but I see enough of it to want it to look nice.

Only cotton bedding. Sheets from the White Company but I get duvet covers from loads of places. My favourite is Secret Linen. The duvet itself is a Baavet which we love.

I'm interested in a wool duvet. How do you feel the baavet compares to a down duvet? Thickness, weight, moldability, warmth?

dietcokelime · 03/04/2023 18:41

Mattress protector (over mattress and topper), fitted sheet, flat sheet, down duvet in cover, 9 pillows (for heads and sleeping on), three large cushions, two smaller cushions and a booster cushion.

All bedding is white (white company or similar), cushions are neutral tones. All cushions are also feather!

Washed every week. It's a mission and a half but totally worth it!

Bluebellbike · 03/04/2023 18:41

I have just changed my bedding. Removed the electric blanket (brave or optimistic?)🙃 and swapped the flannelette sheet/pillowcases/bottom sheet for cotton ones. My bed has:
Mattress protector, mattress topper, king size duvet in cotton cover, two pillows and a cat. Cushions added to keep said cat off the side I sleep on; as she gets cross if I move her so I can get in bed.
