Reading the other thread about making your bed or not and noticed many different bedding styles so am curious what people have on their beds.

What goes on your bed? Sheets, pillows, blankets, etc. Items? Fabrics? Number?

I'm interested in a wool duvet. How do you feel the baavet compares to a down duvet? Thickness, weight, moldability, warmth?

I have a superb wool duvet from Brinkhaus, always had their down duvets. Breathability is fantastic and it keeps you warm when required and also stops over heating. I also have the matching silk duvet for the summer. Investment purchases, but you will have them forever.

Fartughtyred · 03/04/2023 19:53

Mattress protector, fatted shit, king size feather duvet and cover, four pillows ( new so sleeping bolt upright till they settle Grin) assortment of cats and an electric under blanket in winter.

Ffsmakeitstop · 03/04/2023 20:06

Fitted cotton sheet. Top cotton sheet. Winter weight duvet with cotton cover and 2 pillows each with pillowcases.
My days of fannying about with cushions is long gone. I get up for work at 5 and DH is retired so gets up whenever. So the bed just gets made before I get in it mostly.

Nugg · 03/04/2023 20:08

Fitted sheet. Flat sheet. 4 pillows, 2 foam 2 feather and a duvet.

Nugg · 03/04/2023 20:08

Oh and a feather mattress topper!

seven201 · 03/04/2023 20:27

Electric blanket (mattress protector instead in summer), cotton fitted sheet, pillow protectors, linen (not very fancy/expensive) duvet cover and 4 matching pillow cases (pillow cases have a short flap bit so expose the white of the protectors underneath and that pisses me off. And a pile of clean washing that needs to be put away.

Beingboredisgoodforyou · 03/04/2023 21:02

Mattress protector, bottom sheet, top sheet, duvet, duvet cover, day time throw to protect bedding from up to six cats, two pillows, pillow cases. Must be plain/no pattern and the highest thread Egyptian cotton sheets we can afford. I love my bed.

Rubyupbeat · 03/04/2023 21:21

6 pillows with protectors and cases.
Bottom sheet with mattress protector.
Coverless duvet .
Throw.

reluctantbrit · 03/04/2023 21:50

Fitted sheet
80x80cm pillow, left over from living in Germany, I can't sleep on the rectangle ones
single wool duvet each for DH and me, can't sleep together under a king size duvet.
Fluffy blanket for DH if it's cold
I have a weighted blanket
I also have 3 stuffed teddies in bed

GarlicGrace · 03/04/2023 22:04

I knew I wouldn't be the only ultra-padded sleeper here! Working up from the mattress, which is only 6 months old:
Mattress protector, cotton on top, polyester underneath
Goose down duvet (just storing it there, basically)
Bounceback duvet folded into three, down the centre of the bed
Big fat mattress topper
Mattress protector, all cotton
Fitted bottom sheet
Flat top sheet
Electric blanket (don't like that it's polyester, do like the heat)
Goose down duvet in cover
Six feather & down pillows in padded protectors
Pillow cases
All my linen is white, 400TC cotton.

I changed it all yesterday, so everything's at its best and I'm having an early night! Sweet dreams, everybody.

Mattress protector, sheet , 4 pillows with pillowcases, duvet and cover, two decorative cushions

Icannoteven · 03/04/2023 22:33

Depends on the season. I have one of those seasonal duvets which is actually 2 separate duvets that button together.

Right now, I have Fitted sheet, 2 pillows, 10tog feather duvet with cover, fluffy sheet.

in summer I might switch to a 4tog duvet or just a sheet if it’s hot. In a really cold winter I do flat sheet, blanket, 14 tog duvet with cover.

un the day time I also have a trio of pillows in different textures that go in my bed. At night I just keep one of these in the bed to put under my arm or between my knee. I throw the other two in the floor and the dog usually kips on them.

Mindovermatter247 · 03/04/2023 22:34

Mattress topper, protective sheet, fitted sheet, double duvet for DP, king duvet for me ( I’m larger and he takes some of mine aswell in the winter)
I have a memory foam pillow and a v shaped one, DP has 4 duck feather pillows and 2 air max ones. He also has a weighted blanket.

Mindovermatter247 · 03/04/2023 22:38

Currently I have eeyore duvet cover and DP has chip and dale.. getting changed on Sunday, they get changed every other week on a Sunday. Always match up with my shower days so I get into fresh bedcovers, nothing beats that after you’ve had a shower.

AllIeveknewonlyou · 03/04/2023 22:38

At present, fitted sheet and woollen blanket, orthopaedic pillow.

Standard pillow has been washed and in the wardrobe.

I keep my quilt/duvet downstairs for when I want to sleep on the sofa.

2 blankets

redspottedmug · 03/04/2023 22:46

Super king...satin weave cotton fitted sheet, 5 tog goose-down duvet in a linen cover, big square pillow and a couple of normal pillows each. Patchwork quilt on top for the coldest nights. An electrical heating pad for my cold feet!

GarlicGrace · 03/04/2023 22:47

Mattress
Sheepskin thing
Mattress protector
Fitted sheet
Duvet (in cover)
2 blankets

Oh, god, I would LOVE a sheepskin thing! I've probably spent that much in various toppers & suchlike, but bought them one at a time so never had the £££ for multiple fleeces ... stitched together ... into gorgeous, fluffy, bouncy, thermally adaptive, sleeping perfection.

Tell me how good it is. Go on, gloat!

AlltheFs · 03/04/2023 22:51

Pricey Zip and Link superking Mattress with natural fillings and different mattress tensions on each half (from when we used to share it)
Ludicrously expensive mattress topper (hungarian goose feather and down-bought when we had money)
Waterproof mattress protector because of DD
High thread count cotton fitted sheet
All seasons hungarian goose feather and down duvet (4.5, 9 or 13.5 depending)
High thread count cotton duvet cover
4 superking feather and down pillows with 2 cotton pillow cases on each. I never got around to buying protectors.
2 different blankets in winter if needed
Used to be 3 cats but we sadly lost them all recently. 2 new cats from June!

DD joins me occasionally (she is 3) otherwise it’s just me in my feathery luxury. It’s amazeballs.
DH has his own room. He has a similar set up though.

I could never afford it now so it has to last ages!

Aquamarine1029 · 03/04/2023 22:52

Super King. Mattress, mattress topper, mattress protector, fitted sheet, flat sheet, duvet with duvet cover, three pillows each all with their own cotton protective case and cotton pillow case on top. Everything that can be 100% cotton is. I really dislike sheets with synthetic fabric.

DecommissionedVag · 03/04/2023 22:57

Mattress topper, fitted sheet, kingsize duvet with cover and four pillows with cases. In the daytime I put a thick throw over the top, because my hound likes to laze on my bed.

The fatted shit sounds unpleasant. Grin
