Secondary school teachers

@Sherrystrull

I'm not bitter and I don't have disdain for teachers exceot maybe for how they come across on threads like these but I'll hold my hands up to a fair bit of provocation

Well that's how it comes across. Why? Do you just get pleasure in winding people up?

Botw1 · 31/03/2023 20:18

You're entitled to your opinion as I am mine.

Easterfunbun · 31/03/2023 20:19

So you was a nurse. No, not all nurses “teach nurses”. Helping and guiding is not teaching. When you train to become a nurse you are taught specifically by your lecturers at university. They are usually nurses, and then when you’re on placement, your mentor aka clinical lead teaches you. That isn’t every single nurse is it? Honestly, please quit whilst your ahead. You are cringeworthy.

They literally said this was their hobby.

No idea why anyone is persisting in engaging after that.

Sherrystrull · 31/03/2023 20:21

You're batting your opinion against other people's experiences.

My opinion of nursing wouldn't stand up to people's experiences as I'm basing it on me visiting hospitals and GPs over the years, and tales told by friends rather than doing the job.

Anyway, I going to leave it here and focus on planning what I'm doing for my 16 day Easter holiday.

Easterfunbun · 31/03/2023 20:22

@noblegiraffe

Really? I must have missed that. Wow, a hobby. Over and out.

Sherrystrull · 31/03/2023 20:22

I missed that too. Ugh.

Botw1 · 31/03/2023 20:22

@Sherrystrull

Enjoy!

Botw1 · 31/03/2023 20:25

@Easterfunbun

I'm still a nurse.

I cant believe you're now trying to argue that student nurses are only taught by clinical leads

Oh dear.

Did you know that student nurses are expected to complete the practice assessor modules prior to qualifying?

I'm going to guess no.

How embarrassing

Botw1 · 31/03/2023 20:27

Ah c'mon.

I didnt think the hobby comment was serious.

None of you are here for any different reason than I am.

You've all (as in those who have replied directly to me) been rude in some way or another. Poking away just as much as I am

Stop trying to claim a moral high ground.

saraclara · 31/03/2023 20:53

Jeeze, I went out for hours, came home, and this is still going on. @Botw1 is like the Duracell bunny.

I'm amazed people are still responding to her.

See?

Snide.

But I guess people are still responding to me because teachers can't resist the call of correction.

Is this an actual Bot?

sofabedsofa · 31/03/2023 22:09

Maybe not a bot but certainly not brave enough to post with their usual username.

Nimbostratus100 · 31/03/2023 22:32

I keep coming back to this thread to see if there is any sensible conversation on it, but by the time I've skimmed through and ignored posts in a user name not worth reading, there is very little left! I don't think I will bother again

Any more sticks we can bash all teachers with based on experience of just one or a few? What a horrible thread this has turned into!

BlackFriday · 01/04/2023 09:14

@Harveyhero So, her other half? Not her?
Perhaps she knows enough about what kids at close proximity to drug-use might be going through then?
Not a hypocrite but someone trying to help others.

BlackFriday · 01/04/2023 09:16

Interesting stretch from "I know ONE teacher whose other half takes drugs" to "a LOT of teachers are hypocrites."

It's about the level this thread has sunk to.

MrsHerculePoirot · 01/04/2023 09:39

I think that last one must have been an April fools. No-one could actually think that 🤣

DD's friend (aged 33) has been a teacher for 7 years. (Not headteacher.) She teaches 11 to 12 year olds (English, and drama.) When she took the job (that she has been in for 18 months now,) it was advertised at £39,500 per year. West Midlands ...

Private school or academy? This doesn’t sound like state school.

BrutusMcDogface · 05/05/2023 10:52

Omg, didn’t rtft 🙄

Mammyloveswine · 06/05/2023 14:46

I get about 47k on ups3 and with a TLR!

BrutusMcDogface · 06/05/2023 20:09

I haven’t bothered with threshold as I don’t want any extra responsibility. It’s hard enough being a class teacher with four of my own kids. Doesn’t seem financially worth it, either!

TLR’s are for extra responsibility. UPR is for experience. Heads saying UPR is fir extra responsibility are liars and chancers.
