Annoying I was in todays answer last Friday and it still took me ages. You know when you know the word but can't think of the word that was at play a bit too

I wonder why so many people think we’ve had today’s word before. Have we had khaki yet?

I use ‘clout’ occasionally as a second row. I think my starter word has been used as well. I don’t get excited about the idea of getting a one.

I use ‘clout’ as my second starter word too @WhatWouldJeevesDo. I usually use ‘raise’ as my first word.

I was so convinced we'd had today's word before that I rejected it on line 3 for YADDA. Not a word that would come naturally to mind, but as far as I could tell with a green A and a yellow Y, I'd used up all the other likely consonants as well as the vowels.

According to my DP I do this all the time. I say it's because the first time I thought I'd only said it in my head 😂

The only reason I didn't lose my streak today was that I remembered that we'd already had the same word but with a different starting letter. By line 6, I think those were my only options left, so I picked the one I didn't recall coming up previously.

@RhubarbFairy I never thought of checking which words had already been used 🙈

I lost my streak on a very similar word but couldn’t remember which one.
The answer was the only word I could think of by line 6. I’d had ‘power’ as it ruled out quite a few possibilities. At least we knew it wasn’t Homer. These ‘er’ words are terrifying.
DH is busy studying his list of possibilities.

It’s coming back to me. I think I used it when the answer was poker but too late and I went for power and lost my streak.

I never normally remember, but did remember that one today.

Why are T’s so tricky?

I don't like today's word at all, not sure I'd consider a word in its own right.
