As requested, a thread to discuss today's word openly.

My wordle starter word today was one of the xordle solutions, so that helped me a lot in getting a 3. Happy with a 3 today 😊

I’m familiar with todays word as a result of making slime.

wasn’t obscure for me.

You only have to look at the analysis bit to see only 91% of people got it!

It's banned in the UK but I've seen it suggested as a cheap cleaning product on us websites....

I just scrapped a 6.

Yes, I've heard it too from slime experiments with dd! Got it in 5. I think the last weeks words have been trickier than usual- I am aiming to get the number of 3s higher than my number of 5s and was only two away from equalising them a few days ago- now I've slipped back to six away as not been able to solve them in less than four or five goes.

@FancyFanny I'm at 104 threes and 100 fives. 156 on the fours, though.

(I have played 398 times, apparently, though it's more than that... I had a period pre NYT when my stats weren't going up at all).

I took inspiration for my first word from the Wordle number today, helped a lot!

Although I do like the symmetry of those getting a six today

My favourite elimination word is whump. Anyone else have a favourite?

Oh, that’s a good one! I ended up using yesterday’s answer on line 4 (had already ruled out a couple of options in other lines)

Whump is good. I use flout which helped today

I like to start with 'audio' then I only need to try e and y to have all the vowel sounds covered. It serves me well.

My third guess was a waste today as I used a letter in a position I already knew was a dud 🙄

Then I ran out of guesses because I was missing the first letter only and there were many possibilities. So I've lost my streak. Ggrr.

I usually go with SHITE or SHARE.

YES! A rare twoer today!

It was a total lucky guess as I started with CHEAP so only got one letter on the first go.

My favourite words to start with are HOUSE ALIEN and ALOUD

@WhatWouldJeevesDo yes, Shite as a starter. 2 vowels and 3 common letters that's what I usually aim for, although sometimes I go crazy and opt for ROCKY or DUPED

Got it in 3 today. My starter word was GREAT.

I used House today which gave me an easy 2 😅

I usually start with Raise, then if that doesn't give me much I try flout.
Sometimes start with piano, then flute

I had turned A green and Y yellow by line 2, so I used BAYOU on line 3 today. Knew it tanked my chances of getting a 3 as we had it about a year ago, but it's an excellent elimination word.

What words did bayou eliminate? I couldn’t think of anything except the answer once I had a green A and a yellow Y. I’d had an ‘R’.
