Do you walk in the pouring rain?

Just curious.

OP posts:

Yes. I have to get to work and the shops.

nofilteronme · 26/03/2023 18:04

Only if absolutely necessary. I enjoy walking and will chose to walk somewhere rather than drive if I can ... but not in the rain!

kitsuneghost · 26/03/2023 18:06

Yes. Love the rain.

DinaofCloud9 · 26/03/2023 18:07

No it's miserable.

itsgettingweird · 26/03/2023 18:08

I walk in the rain for the sake of walking.

I avoid it when it's a monsoon and hail force winds but I love a good walk!

BounceyB · 26/03/2023 18:08

I'll go outside to exercise in any weather (unless it's torrential). I always feel better for it.

ItsRainingTacos79 · 26/03/2023 18:12

Since investing in long wellies and a deep hooded midi length poncho raincoat I carry on as usual.

Riverlee · 26/03/2023 18:14

Yes

PuppyMonkey · 26/03/2023 18:15

Only for the dog. And only because the bugger refuses to poo in our back garden. No chance if I didn’t have him to sort.

HealthConcerns · 26/03/2023 18:17

Yes as I am unable to drive at the moment and there aren't busses at my start / finish time for work as they don't run before 8am or past 6pm. I do keep a change of work uniform and shoes at work though so if I do get soaked at least I can get changed.

Hatsforbats · 26/03/2023 18:21

Yes, with a raincoat/umbrella if I am going somewhere.

Sometimes if I am not doing anything and if its really heavy I like to wander about a bit in shorts and a strappy top, just because it feels really calming gettong hammered by rain and not trying to keep yourself dry.
Plus i get to run home and have a really hot shower and its lovely. Same reason I love swimming in the sea in the rain.

youshouldnthavetoask · 26/03/2023 17:08

Only because I don't want to stay at work for a minute longer than I have to.

😂😂😂😂😂

Netcam · 26/03/2023 18:25

I don't not walk in the rain, but if I have a choice of timing I prefer it to be dry. But I'm happy with a waterproof hooded jacket and even waterproof trousers if necessary. I don't really bother with umbrellas.

Hazey19 · 26/03/2023 18:28

Yes, I walk to take kids to school and go to work via public transport so no choice! I don’t mind though it’s annoying when I’ve straightened my hair and I get to work and I may as well not have 😂

Soopermum1 · 26/03/2023 18:29

Yes. I don't drive and it beats standing at a bus shelter

mathanxiety · 26/03/2023 18:44

No, and I don't like Pina coladas either.

coffeeandcola · 26/03/2023 18:46

Yes, dog loves it too.

Clearly lots of people don't as that's when parents decide to drive their kids to school instead of investing in raincoats.

Rainbow1901 · 26/03/2023 18:48

Not by choice!

23456v · 26/03/2023 20:06

Yes, of course. I used to live in western Scotland so it was difficult to avoid it!

DragonflyLady · 26/03/2023 20:09

I hate walking in pouring rain so wouldn’t go on a walk - drying clothes afterwards is a nightmare. I walk to work (seven mins) in the rain, but not if it’s torrential. I give my colleague a lift too.

SirChenjins · 26/03/2023 20:12

I walk the dog in all weathers - prefer a nice, dry day though obviously.

Berlinlover · 26/03/2023 20:17

Yes because I don’t drive.

MuggleMe · 26/03/2023 20:18

I have waterproof boots, waterproof trousers and a massive anorak so I'll happily walk somewhere if I need to, but I wouldn't choose to.

Username24680 · 26/03/2023 20:24

23456v · 26/03/2023 20:06

Yes, of course. I used to live in western Scotland so it was difficult to avoid it!

West coast of Scotland here 🙋😂
I don’t drive for medical reasons so yep, I walk everywhere 😅 hard to avoid the rain here!
I work a 25 min walk from home so walk there and back. I also have a toddler that needs worn out so we’re out every day regardless of the weather 😅 waterproofs and wellies then home for a nice warm bath!

Shodan · 26/03/2023 20:27

Yes, I do, and just to 'go for a walk', too 😁I have waterproof walking boots and a decent raincoat. Plus I chortle at myself when I pull the strings tight on the hood, because I look very silly. I think it scares onlookers...
