Do you walk in the pouring rain?

Just curious.

To walk dogs yes, with appropriate clothing though. Live on the North Sea coast and when it’s cold, windy and horizontal raining I wear a full length stockman’s coat, outback leather hat and knee high wellies. Come home bone dry, which is more than can be said for the dog 😁

slowquickstep · 26/03/2023 16:57

Best time to walk on the beach

Jellytotsburnmytongue · 26/03/2023 16:57

Oh yes I love the rain.

I hate wind and rain together though, it makes me feel irrationally angry inside. Especially if I'm trying to fight to hold an umbrella in position and it's flying all over the place.

Clymene · 26/03/2023 16:58

Not if I can help it but if I'm on a hike then I have. Or I have to get the kids to school.

My dog hates the rain and has a very strong bladder. He'd rather get a uti than get wet 🙄

ProfYaffle · 26/03/2023 16:58

I don't mind rain (have good coat and boots) but wind/rain combo is awful.

Anycolouryoulike · 26/03/2023 16:59

Not by choice, no. I mean I wouldn't choose to go for a walk in the rain. I do have to walk in the rain to work though.

Me too- love running on snow too

Only freshly fallen snow for me. After a day when it's an absolute ice fest I'm terrified of breaking my leg! That's the only time I'd not go out!

WhatNoRaisins · Today 16:45Only if I need to, not my idea of fun personally.

I've also never been convinced that taking the kids to the park in the rain wearing puddlesuits is fun.”

Our grandson loves it, the muddier the better 😁

I'd suck it up for the sake of children who did enjoy it. Mine just whinged whenever I tried. Maybe I'll have better luck with grandchildren one day.

Crunchymum · 26/03/2023 17:07

Having spent so much time walking in the rain not through choice (primary aged DC for 7 years and counting and others say rain is not a reason to stay at home) then nope it's not my idea of fun. Although I do understand the idealised version of walking in the rain. Just don't fancy it much myself 😂

youshouldnthavetoask · 26/03/2023 17:08

Only because I don't want to stay at work for a minute longer than I have to.

GotABeatForYouMama · 26/03/2023 17:17

Only when I have to.

ToBeOrNotToBee · 26/03/2023 17:18

Yes. I really enjoy taking my sweet time whilst everyone else is rushing around pretending to be made of sugar.

LittleLegsKeepGoing · 26/03/2023 17:21

Love it. Less people, air feels fresher. Also love a rainy run.

No such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.

Comedycook · 26/03/2023 17:21

Only if I have no other choice and I have a huge umbrella.

Friedonyourfarmstonight · 26/03/2023 17:23

Yes but i'd wear a coat.

kezzieliza · 26/03/2023 17:27

Yes

KnittingNeedles · 26/03/2023 17:29

Not if I don't have to, no. Wouldn't "go out for a walk" in the rain.

Oblomov23 · 26/03/2023 17:35

No. I don't go out in the rain unless I have to. I take an umbrella and nip from car to supermarket, from work to post office. I have to stand and watch ds2 play football in the rain but I have one of those huge golf umbrellas from sports direct.

Maraudingmarauders · 26/03/2023 17:38

Yes, for my dog. Although in honesty the dog is usually less happy about it than me, so I'd often try and see if it will pass as she has been known to go on strike if its too bad (greyhound cross).
If I needed to get somewhere and it was pouring, yes I'd still go.

Harrysmummy246 · 26/03/2023 17:39

You'll find anyone who is a dog owner says yes....

llamazoo2 · 26/03/2023 17:40

It doesn’t bother me! Umbrella and hood up and you’re good to go

kimchifix · 26/03/2023 17:43

Yes. Love it because barely anyone else does! Dogs aren't quite so keen on it though Grin

SquidwardBound · 26/03/2023 17:55

If I need to get somewhere I do.

I would also clothe us appropriately and take my toddler out to splash in puddles in the pouring rain.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/03/2023 18:01

Yes as I'm making myself do 10000 steps a day

Vintagevixen · 26/03/2023 18:03

I constantly walk in the rain because I don't drive and live on the coast! Shopping has to be got, chores have to be done rain or shine.

I do have a proper coat and stout DM's though.

I would choose to do a rain walk somewhere like my local park which is lovely, walking under trees in rain is nice. Might avoid the seafront in wind and rain though - that is a bit exposed for me!
