What was/is your annual pay rise?

We were told our annual pay rise last week and I've been stewing on it ever since.

Ours is based on performance so the better we are, the more we get.

I've got 2%. No idea how this compares with colleagues.

During a cost of living crisis where food inflation is 18% and overall is 10%, I feel this is a ridiculous increase but from previous pay rises at other companies, it's probably only a little below average as they take advantage.

So, if you don't mind me asking, what % did you get if you were lucky to get one.

Name change as I am paranoid of being outed at work.

We've been offered 4%. We've rejected it.

SquashesPumpkinsAutumnBliss · 22/03/2023 22:45

Last year was 2%

shelbaba · 22/03/2023 22:46

Zero! We are part of the civil service and I've been there 8 yrs the most I've had is 1%. It's usually 0.5% or none! Everyone was so shocked this year though especially.

2% is also piss poor obvs better than my zero though lol.

5%. It was going to be 7% for everyone but I negotiated it down for higher paid so the lower paid majority (who I manage!) could get 10%. We couldn’t afford that across the whole team and they’ll be hardest hit.

You're fab

Mum23amazingkids · 22/03/2023 22:48

5.9%across the company , just negotiated 7.5% fir myself

Rewis · 22/03/2023 22:50

0% and it hasn't gone up in a while. I think we got a 1% increase 5 years ago?

Sanch1 · 22/03/2023 22:51

Ours are performance based. With promotion I got 32%. Some of my team who have under performed got less than 2%.

YummyCookie · 22/03/2023 22:53

I'm just above minimum wage and mine works out at an additional 5% per hour. I got a £200 bonus at Xmas. DH earns more and got 10% increase with a 37% annual bonus (performance related for him, his team and the company). Some companies definitely pay better than others!

ItWasntMyFault · 22/03/2023 22:57

I hope mine is something like that. I work for a charity too and we are getting our rises early this year, first one for me so I don't know what they are normally like. We'll find out by the end of the month what we are getting. I think they are back paying it from January too 🤞

I got 5% plus back pay to 1st January.

IfIGoThereWillBeTrouble · 23/03/2023 11:46

In my full time job we’re getting 3% which I was very happy with until read some of the other answers.

In my second/part time job it’ll be 9.7% as NMW is going up next month.

blahblahblahandblahsomemore · 23/03/2023 11:49

3% - private sector. That was across the board
