What was/is your annual pay rise?

PayRiseQuestion · 22/03/2023 18:33

We were told our annual pay rise last week and I've been stewing on it ever since.

Ours is based on performance so the better we are, the more we get.

I've got 2%. No idea how this compares with colleagues.

During a cost of living crisis where food inflation is 18% and overall is 10%, I feel this is a ridiculous increase but from previous pay rises at other companies, it's probably only a little below average as they take advantage.

So, if you don't mind me asking, what % did you get if you were lucky to get one.

Name change as I am paranoid of being outed at work.

OP posts:
Girasoli · 22/03/2023 19:43

7.25% for all of my team

gogohmm · 22/03/2023 19:45

10%. But 10% of not a lot is still not a lot!

Squidger45 · 22/03/2023 19:45

LovelyLovelyWarmCoffee · 22/03/2023 19:41

2.5% (not performance based), company wide.
Especially painful when you hear about public sector workers striking for ridiculously high raises that I as a taxpayer would pay for!

Was yours frozen the last 12 years? Or did you get a small % increment each year?

7.5% and £1000 cost of living payment.

RagzRebooted · 22/03/2023 19:46

Same as you, OP. 2% this year and the same last year.

5%. It was going to be 7% for everyone but I negotiated it down for higher paid so the lower paid majority (who I manage!) could get 10%. We couldn’t afford that across the whole team and they’ll be hardest hit.

What a fantastic boss 😊

Oblomov23 · 22/03/2023 19:50

Haven't had a pay increase for 5+ years.

WeAreTheHeroes · 22/03/2023 19:50

7.5% which was a % increase plus a fixed amount. We were paid it earlier in the year than normal.

LBOCS2 · 22/03/2023 19:56

5% across the company, plus there are apparently bonuses this April.

RoseMartha · 22/03/2023 19:57

The only reason I will be getting one is because my wage will fall under the minimum wage when it goes up next month. I haven't actually had a pay rise for over two years. I have no idea what the percentage is. My boss was moaning the other week that I have to have the raise as things are tough at the company.

midsomermurderess · 22/03/2023 19:57

2%, after much wrangling and getting ACAS involved. And a £250 bonus, which won’t amount to much after deductions. The year before, we got nothing.

littlelovely · 22/03/2023 19:58

I got 3.8%. We prioritized higher increases for lower paid team members although don’t think many exceeded 5%. We also got bonuses which were pretty decent.

midnightblue12 · 22/03/2023 19:59

10% pay rise.
Tbh that's unprecedented of the company and I think it really is just to keep face with other big companies in the same sector only!!!

So sorry you're rose feels so little right now :(

Penguinsmum · 22/03/2023 20:01

Nothing 😢

This comment has made my day! What a wonderful thing to do. I thought I was misreading it at first.

DanceMonster · 22/03/2023 20:06

15% for me this year.

MeinKraft · 22/03/2023 20:06

Something in the region of 17%, our company is undergoing a pay scheme restructure.

IHaventStoppedCravingYet · 22/03/2023 20:13

6% payrise across the board plus a £400 cost of living payment to all. We also got an annual bonus, % dependant of grade and performance - I got 19%. Our company has been really good taking care of staff in this respect. And banking so bonuses are a thing.

Yay another public sector worker basher!

God forbid that if you take into account that in the last 11 years we’ve had a 10% pay cut.

If you’re green eyed about public sector pay why don’t you apply do a job in one…you’ll soon understand!

Greenestgreen · 22/03/2023 20:36

6.75% but I also received a 10% of salary plus company shares award for top performers in 2022 given in Feb and annual bonus which worked out at around 24% of salary given in March. Can’t really complain.

shinynewapple22 · 22/03/2023 20:47

For 2022 we got just under £2000 across the board - so higher percentages on lower grades . I think it worked out about 7% for me - so a big improvement on the last 10 years. I think I we've been offered similar for 2023 - unions now discussing. This is local government.

Scoobydoobydoobydoo0987 · 22/03/2023 20:48

8% across the board plus a 20% bonus across the board.

TenoringBehind · 22/03/2023 20:55

10% but from a very low starting point!

starfish4 · 22/03/2023 20:59

Last few years it's been 2%, 2% then 1%, so very surprised to get 9%. Half of its probably to do with minimum wage going up, as they aim to keep us above that, but the margin has been getting smaller.

DH works in public sector, and dispite his profession getting 3% last year, his department feel into a loophole and got nothing. It's confirmed they'll get 3% later this year though.

whirlyhead · 22/03/2023 21:03

Self employed. About -10%. What’s a pay increase??
