What was/is your annual pay rise?

We were told our annual pay rise last week and I've been stewing on it ever since.

Ours is based on performance so the better we are, the more we get.

I've got 2%. No idea how this compares with colleagues.

During a cost of living crisis where food inflation is 18% and overall is 10%, I feel this is a ridiculous increase but from previous pay rises at other companies, it's probably only a little below average as they take advantage.

So, if you don't mind me asking, what % did you get if you were lucky to get one.

Name change as I am paranoid of being outed at work.

15%

They have done a big pay restructure and my pay has been increased to be inline with others on my grade so it's a one-off!! Normally around 2-3%

WorkCleanRepeat · 22/03/2023 21:51

6.7% but I know lower paid employees got around the 20% mark.

Olaftree · 22/03/2023 21:53

0% 21-22
5% finally agreed 22-23
God knows 23-24

2.7%
The budget was 3% across the department so some colleagues must have been awarded more.

Marden11302 · 22/03/2023 21:57

7%

PlantKi1ler · 22/03/2023 22:03

I got 10.1% plus a one off £400 cost of living payment.

BluebellBlueballs · 22/03/2023 22:04

NJC so £1925 which is about 4% for me.

But a year ago I was in a different job on 10k less so its more like a 20% rise

SRS29 · 22/03/2023 22:06

5%

GnomeDePlume · 22/03/2023 22:07

5% plus a 21% bonus. I started a new job at the beginning of last year where my salary went up by about 50%

No complaints at all.

TeenLifeMum · 22/03/2023 22:09

I’m nhs so god knows what it’ll be and when they’ll agree it. We usually get the April increase backdated in September pay which means extra pay so colleagues end up worse off as they take extra pension and student loan, but they don’t seem to realise the impact of that (and on universal credits). This year I think they’ll keep on arguing. Never straight forward.

JacketPotatoQueen · 22/03/2023 22:12

Just over 3%

cherry2727 · 22/03/2023 22:13

12%

stackhead · 22/03/2023 22:14

5%

My company did a sliding scale pay increase with the lowest paid getting 10% and the highest paid nothing.

8% discretionary bonus. No complaints and the extra bonus money shaves another 3 months off my student loan repayments.

aibutohavethisusername · 22/03/2023 22:16

2%

Soontobemumof2x · 22/03/2023 22:16

Pay rise was meh…. But I did a £4K bonus. Half of that is towards cost of living. Was delighted as this was extremely unexpected and it will help a lot!

aroomwithaperfectview · 22/03/2023 22:25

5.5%, not performance based, company wide.

Scepticalwotsits · 22/03/2023 22:27

emmathedilemma · 22/03/2023 18:51

We won’t find out until next week. On the bbc news this morning they reckoned 7% was average in the private sector and 5% for public sector. I’d be delighted with either of those tbh! I got an annual bonus that will be almost a month’s salary after tax deductions.

I may be wrong but I believe a lot of the figures for private are inflated by annual bonuses and other commissions so a small number at the top pushes up the average.

DuesToTheDirt · 22/03/2023 22:31

Annual? Ha ha ha ha. Hmm

Ashworth90 · 22/03/2023 22:34

4% pay rise and 10% salary bonus. We did get a cost of living payment of £2,000 in November, so I am very pleased!

cozgirls · 22/03/2023 22:36

7% and £500 cost of living payment.

JimnJoyce · 22/03/2023 22:36

wont know this years until end of May. Last year 2.3%. We have a bonus scheme too but I wont get it.

TheFireflies · 22/03/2023 22:38

2% - social worker

tootiredtospeak · 22/03/2023 22:38

8 percent

WombatBombat · 22/03/2023 22:40

We don’t find out until mid April, but it’s linked to inflation rates, so expecting 6-7% (they gave us a 2% increase end of last year, and 4% last April).

Those earning under 50k also got a 3k cost of living bonus end of last year & we’ve just had our annual bonus (5%).

jackstini · 22/03/2023 22:42

33% cut
Removed retainer and moved to commission only
