What was/is your annual pay rise?

PayRiseQuestion · 22/03/2023 18:33

We were told our annual pay rise last week and I've been stewing on it ever since.

Ours is based on performance so the better we are, the more we get.

I've got 2%. No idea how this compares with colleagues.

During a cost of living crisis where food inflation is 18% and overall is 10%, I feel this is a ridiculous increase but from previous pay rises at other companies, it's probably only a little below average as they take advantage.

So, if you don't mind me asking, what % did you get if you were lucky to get one.

Name change as I am paranoid of being outed at work.

0% across the board. They don't give a fuck and I know for a fact the company has grown and there is money for pay rises but they choose not to give them.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 22/03/2023 18:55

5%. They're terrified we might leave so a group of us asked for various things and we were amazed to get it all!

NegativeNelly · 22/03/2023 18:56

🤣🤣🤣🤣

NOTHING! and I'm NHS what a joke

From 10p above current minimum wage to the new minimum wage Envy hence why I'm job hunting like my life depends on it.

Figgygal · 22/03/2023 18:58

6% and £2.5k bonus

MamaDollyorJesus · 22/03/2023 18:58

We won't find out until our April salary is paid into the bank - it's not discussed beforehand.

Last year it was 5% across the board but I negotiated a 25% pay rise a month later as I was considering leaving for a job much closer to home & they agreed to match the disposable income I'd gain if I moved as opposed to just matching the salary I'd been offered.

Hoping it's at least the 5% again this year.

iklboo · 22/03/2023 18:59

2% - works out about £25 a month extra after tax & NI. Nothing like how much bills / fuel etc have gone up.

We did get a small bump up payment at the lower grades. We were told the higher grades wouldn't receive it as the pay gap was so much. Then we find out they did get one. Almost four times as much as us.

Campolini · 22/03/2023 19:00

I've had a 10% pay rise commencing April
£500 cost of living payment
8% bonus this month

katiisa · 22/03/2023 19:04

3% 🙄

CanIAskAnotherStupidQuestion · 22/03/2023 19:06

I suspect I won’t get anything.

It’s weighted so that if you are already plaid above the banding for your grade you get less increase. The idea is that it gradually brings everyone to the middle of the pay and for the grade.

I am paid as if I were the band above, because I missed out if a promotion (due to other peoples politics). So not likely to get a raise, ever, unless I specifically ask for it.

I will negotiate.

ThirdAidKit · 22/03/2023 19:10

£500 last year. 🙄 Am in the low £40ks. Waiting to see what new financial year in April brings. Private company!

ActDottie · 22/03/2023 19:10

5% April then another 5% in July

Letty186 · 22/03/2023 19:11

Just under 2% which is more than the last few years! It's usually around1%

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 22/03/2023 19:15

NHS so god only knows. But it appears we might be striking some sort of pay deal.

LollipopViolet · 22/03/2023 19:16

I don't think we're getting one in my bit of the Civil Service.

mackthepony · 22/03/2023 19:17

Yes, it's insulting.

We get ours next week, i'm curious

We did get a decent bonus though

PayRiseQuestion · 22/03/2023 19:18

Some good points here. We also got no COL payment that I have seen elsewhere and it's the first company I've not got a little something at Christmas.

853ax · 22/03/2023 19:25

4.5%
Just get the email not discussed or negotiated guess could be if I tried.
Know my husband asked for more in his company and got it.

BeautifulWar · 22/03/2023 19:28

2% also. Distinctly underwhelmed.

HamstersAreMyLife · 22/03/2023 19:32

I'm not sure but civil service and for the last few years got nothing so feeling pretty ok about the additional £60 a month we got this year. It looks like we will get something next yr though after a pay award negotiation.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 22/03/2023 19:34

Last year's payrise was worth 40p a month so I'm excited to see what this year will be!!

I work for a housing association and we've been told money is tight as increased costs and they're trying to avoid raising tenants rates too much.

If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get an extra £1 a month. Might indulge in a Freddo.

FrownedUpon · 22/03/2023 19:37

7%

Stickmansmum · 22/03/2023 19:38

Percentage increase is meaningless, just as 10% increase in cost of living is meaningless. Assuming you need £7k more to have the same standard of living as last year, that will be a 2% increase for some and a 35% increase for others.

people need to know how much more actual money they need, not some meaningless percentage.

LovelyLovelyWarmCoffee · 22/03/2023 19:41

2.5% (not performance based), company wide.
Especially painful when you hear about public sector workers striking for ridiculously high raises that I as a taxpayer would pay for!

LovelyLovelyWarmCoffee · 22/03/2023 19:41

Oh and nothing for the past two years either
