What's the worst film you've ever watched? Think I just melted my brain...

...by watching Spy Intervention on Prime. It has Drew Van Acker in it of PLL fame and I was looking for something a bit easy, he's pretty (I know, I know, very high brow of me) and dear GOD it was terrible. I may have to burn my own eyes out - was it a romance, was it a comedy? Was it just fucking terrible? yes, yes to the latter.

I can't quite believe I kept watching until the bitter end, I think I was expecting something to happen that would explain why it was so bad?

What's the worst film you've ever watched?

PS: DVA WAS pretty in it. Very. But it still wasn't enough to save it.

Has anyone said The Meg yet? I still can't believe I wasted hours of my life watching it (mostly in sheer disbelief that it could actually be so bad)!

Seven. absolute pish

That’s one of my favourite films.

Annietheacrobat · 22/03/2023 22:49

Pitch perfect 3

Pineapple express

I may have just gone into 65 with the wrong expectations. It’s quite slow and not a lot of dialogue. For most of the film there’s only two characters and one of them doesn’t speak English so there’s very little communication.

Cocaine Bear has gore but it’s that kind of over the top, intestines being pulled out but you can tell it’s a string of sausages kind of gore. It was so much funnier than I thought it would be!

Namechangeforthis189 · 23/03/2023 08:33

That was supposed to be in reply to @Uurrjb. Reply button didn’t work for some reason.

@Emotionalsupportviper isn't it interesting how we can have such different views of the same film. I found it mind-numbingly boring.

Horses for courses 😄

Woahtherehoney · 23/03/2023 10:31

The Sharknado films. I’ve only seen one but from that one know that they are all absolutely terrible.

I'm wondering if I missed something now as I too was bored rigid. Doesn't help that I thought I was going to see 'Letters from Iowa Jim'!

GettingStuffed · 23/03/2023 11:02

Santa with muscles with Sylvester Stallone. It was so bad.

LookItsMeAgain · 23/03/2023 15:45

Did someone already say Bullet Train? I managed to catch the last 20 mins or so of it as my DS was watching it yesterday and by jayzus it was atrocious! It had some serious acting clout if you were to go by the cast list alone but holy jayzus it was desperate. I'm glad I didn't fork out my hard earned to go see it in the cinema.

SixPenny · 23/03/2023 16:37

Any Harry potter film.

I can see how that would cause problems.

Plus, if you are anything like me, you'd have been three-quarters of the way through the film before you even realised that it wasn't the one you were expecting.

CallieQ · 21/03/2023 01:06

Omg the first 2 in your list are great films!

@CallieQ I know 😐

I realise what is good/bad is subjective to the viewer, but there's some masterpieces getting butchered in this thread.

DysonBison · 24/03/2023 09:11

I think there's a difference between films that you didn't enjoy, for whatever reason, and films that are just bad. At the peak of the Netflix/Prime content churn there were a lot of terrible first draft level scripts, shoddy editing, wooden actors... stuff you'd watch and wonder how no one in the process had said, Just checking but is this the final version?

awaynboilyurheid · 24/03/2023 09:23

I remember a colleague said I saw a fantastic film at the weekend and I said oh I saw an awful film and wasted two hours of my life, yes it was the same film Lost in Translation!

Mind you it’s a tie now between lost in Translation and the Banshees of Inshirrin, both absolute mince!

Crumpetdisappointment · 24/03/2023 10:04

i love lost in translation

PoseyFlump · 24/03/2023 12:05

I think there should be a rule that every time you post an awful film you should also say a film you think excellent! Great for building up a 'to watch' list and also lets us know if your word is trustworthy 😂

Heatherjayne1972 · 24/03/2023 13:25

Hot tub time machine
there are no words to describe the awfulness of this film

as for everything everywhere all at once I thought that was a new category some actor had won an award in

CruCru · 24/03/2023 13:37

I watched John Wick 4 yesterday. That goes on the list.

UWhatNow · 24/03/2023 13:42

Haven’t read the whole thread but I would add ‘The Human Centipede’ bad, bad, bad 😵

NosnowontheScottishhills · 24/03/2023 15:53

I'm an avid movie watcher I can watch most genres (apart from horror) and my view is that there are a few amazing films, lots of good films, loads mediorcre films, some bad film and then there's: fuck what am watching? I agree with a lot of what has already been suggested in particular LaLa Land, Mamma Mia, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Elf; all bad films. But for my Chicken Lickin was one of the worst Ive ever seen but currently at the top of my "what the fuck am I watching" list is: The Banshees of Inisherin what an absolute pile of crap and I really like Brendan Gleeson.
Personally I loved Into the Wild.

Triselly · 24/03/2023 18:08

Hahaha I love it - she is spot on! Thank you for giving me a new rabbit hole to fall down in Sady’s other posts!

So... the synopsis for that film is a mad scientist kidnapping tourists and sewing their mouths to rectums to make a human centipede. Like who on earth would read that and think 'oh that sounds like a good watch'?!? 😱😂

PoseyFlump · 24/03/2023 20:35

@NosnowontheScottishhills Into the Wild is an excellent example of a great film!
