What's the worst film you've ever watched? Think I just melted my brain...

...by watching Spy Intervention on Prime. It has Drew Van Acker in it of PLL fame and I was looking for something a bit easy, he's pretty (I know, I know, very high brow of me) and dear GOD it was terrible. I may have to burn my own eyes out - was it a romance, was it a comedy? Was it just fucking terrible? yes, yes to the latter.

I can't quite believe I kept watching until the bitter end, I think I was expecting something to happen that would explain why it was so bad?

What's the worst film you've ever watched?

PS: DVA WAS pretty in it. Very. But it still wasn't enough to save it.

another vote for la la land
plus:
mulholland drive
Taxidermia (utterly vile, walked out)
eraserhead

I have a crush on David Soul (yes, I know he's an awful human being-he's just so pretty.) So my answer is every single film he was ever in. They were all the worst.

Omg it's AMAZING!! One of the best films ever

I love it too!!

I think there is a difference between well-made movies that just don't appeal to a person, like not everyone likes Kubrik films, and genuinely bad movies which are badly written, poor acted, poorly directed, or whatever, like SATC 2.

Jacopo · 22/03/2023 05:12

The Lost Daughter. Olivia Coleman drifting about looking even more miserable than usual.
Everything Everywhere etc. Self indulgent shite.
Ready Player One. Incomprehensible and very loud.

The happening..the acting is intresting! Mark Walhberg looks confused throughout and I don't know what was up with his voice. Just odd.. and the plot who knows about that

Is that the scary wind film?? Because that was so so bizzare

OldTinHat · 22/03/2023 06:42

Rubber. It was so awful that I watched it all instead of giving up. Could not believe what I was seeing!

It's entertaining but it's just sex and drugs and a morally bankrupt lead character and cast. A glorified porno.

Eat Pray Love - so bad!
and The Perfect Storm. Most depressing movie ever.

Eat Pray Love - so bad!

Doesn't surprise me.

I haven't seen the film but the book was absolute sh!te. At least the first three chapters were - I slung it into the charity shop bag.

Life is too short for rubbish books.

Cattenberg · 22/03/2023 10:52

I’ve seen worse, but I can’t stand the scene where Liz and her friend are in Italy and decide they are going to eat some pasta without loathing themselves for it, then they are going to buy themselves bigger jeans.

Cut to them changing their size six? jeans for size 8 jeans. 😐

RaraRachael · 22/03/2023 11:59

I sat through 3 hours of The Silence - fidgeting in my seat, numb bum, utterly bored witless. At the end I said to OH - That was so boring I could have walked out after 15 minutes to which he replied - Oh I thought the same!

Could have saved 2 hours 45 minutes of complete tedium 🙄

Dacadactyl · 22/03/2023 12:04

Nacho Libre. Absolutely diabolical.

I actually got up and left the cinema it was that bad.

boobot1 · 22/03/2023 13:03

This is the best plot summary of LIT I've read

I was the same. Waited and waited and then it finished

That Benhamin Button one with the long title. Dear god it was twaddle.

Burn after reading. Not even George and Brad could redeem it.

Also to add to all the Oscar nominated films... The artist? Or the painter? Can't remember the name but it was a silent movie. There's just no place for it in the 21st century.

Oh I forgot about Burn After Reading! I think we left the cinema halfway through was so dire.

Was that the one about the monks? I saw that by accident. I thought I was going into a film directed by Clint Eastwood. I was puzzled for some time before I realised.

WomensLandArmy · 22/03/2023 15:31

Ignore me, I'm thinking of 'into great silence' beyond tedious.

Namechangeforthis189 · 22/03/2023 16:09

I saw 65 in the cinema last week and thought that was pretty bad. It may have been my expectations though. I was expecting slightly more Jurassic Park and less Gravity.

I know it’s not what the thread is about but I saw Cocaine Bear recently thinking it would be a pile of shit and I loved it so much I went to see it twice!

RaraRachael · 22/03/2023 17:19

@WomensLandArmy it was the one with the monks!

We have all been looking forward to 65 but it has been panned…is it worth seeing in the big screen?

dh would love to see cocaine bear but is a bit squeamish if the squish which looks like there is a lot!

If it was the monks one, I thought it was brilliant - and really heartbreaking as well. Very moving film.

@I'llBuyThatForADollar When was the last time you watched Trading Places?
It used to be my favourite Christmas film but I couldn't get through it last year. That Eddie Murphy “humour” has not dated well.
