If you had a boat what would you name it?

As subject really.
We are hoping to buy a river cruiser. The one we’ve seen has a name that is personal to the current owners. We can change the name but we’re not sure what to change it to, we’re not very creative I’m afraid.

Is it on the Broads? I would love a cruiser on the Broads, I grew up amongst the boat yards, sadly dh is not a water fan.

It’s not there at the moment but we plan to keep it where it is now and then move it to the Broads next spring.

Saw a clever one called Retirement Plan last summer.

Why don't you think of something that reflects your favourite river, or some feature along it?

Retirement Plan would be apt

Love Shack

That one would have the perverts stopping by to have a peer into the cabin window!

I love that song!
But I think you’re right - I don’t want randomers peering in!

The Big Floater

Well unfortunately that would fit with what Paul Whitehouse reported in his recent documentary about sewage in the rivers 🤢

A l'eau cest l'heure ⛵

Sorry - I don’t get it.

It’s bound to be something obvious but I can’t get it

Can you make a word/name out of your family's initials?

I can amalgamate my name and my husband’s name which comes out ok and is also the name of a fish, but slightly misspelled

Phonetically it’s Hello (‘allo) Sailor. The literal translation is something like “to the water, it’s time!”.

My parents had a boat called The DickyDido (their names are Dick and Di), which drew some odd looks at the Marina but I kinda loved it.

Wasn't there a rude old pub song along those lines?! Plus people are probably doing a double-take at the 'Dido' bit and 'seeing' an extra letter that isn't there, like you do with a 'To let' sign Grin
