If you had a boat what would you name it?

As subject really.
We are hoping to buy a river cruiser. The one we’ve seen has a name that is personal to the current owners. We can change the name but we’re not sure what to change it to, we’re not very creative I’m afraid.

I could give you my boats name OP, by private message if you like.

It evokes a combination of a 1980’s song, history/fantasy and water. Six letters.

I have one....Avocet.😁
The name of bird local to your area would be good.

I thought of that.

Then I thought ‘No’. Been done before hasn’t it?

Here is mine. She is a small boat, good for sticking to estuaries and rivers.

Is it on the Broads? I would love a cruiser on the Broads, I grew up amongst the boat yards, sadly dh is not a water fan.

The thing about boat names is if it’s anything more than a dinghy you end up saying it a lot. Often over radio with not the best reception. Something that is fairly unique but still easy to pronounce, recognize and spell and is not potentially embarrassing is important.

Saw a clever one called Retirement Plan last summer.

Why don't you think of something that reflects your favourite river, or some feature along it?
