Anyone else's DH do the post food shop 'parade'?

lighthearted
Most of the time, with two small children, I will organise the food shop. Either go and get it or do a click and collect order. We have a system of writing on a whiteboard everything we need. It's not too onerous and sort of just happens in the background
Today my DH has physically gone to the shops. And I've just had the post shop 'parade' as I call it
DH reached into bag and pulls out a cucumber 'look at this! We've not been able to get salad for weeks and I found one!!' (Beaming)
Pulls out loo roll. 'Now this is more expensive but is a bigger roll! Look how much fatter it is! So I reckon I've saved us some money here'. Me 'yes, we've had them for ages'
Reveals a dozen eggs 'AND I was able to find twelve eggs, but they're white! WHITE!! Amazing!'
Pulls out a couple of bottles of bleach. 'Now, I know you said bleach but you didn't say scent so I decided to go for lemon as thought it would make the loos smell a bit nicer! Good idea, right?'
...and on it goes. Each product has some story to it or money saving.
The food shop takes an hour but I reckon the post shop parade takes just as long 😆
Anyone else's other half do this or just mine? I do remind him that when I do it, it just happens but he seems to enjoy going over his haul for some reason

Mine has been doing the supermarket shop since the first lockdown. There is generally at least one conversation where a child says "did you get X?" and DH says "was it on the list?" Also he sometimes comes home really thrilled with himself because the total came to just above the nearest €50 (our local supermarket has tokens that give €10 off every €50).

I do most of the food shopping ( it's cheaper and it's easier with my shifts than his ) but one year I smashed my knee up in a riding accident and with a week to go before Christmas, DH volunteered to take 2 of the DC's and my list and get the big shop done as my leg was encased in hip to toe plaster .
Well. They were away 3 hours . I got sent pictures of DH frowning over vegetables , and the two trollies they had to use . When they got in he bounded in like a golden retriever who'd found a hidden haul of tennis balls . Every single thing was brought out for me to admire . Including the 6 different cheeses , posh crackers , and stuff that he'd bought because it looked nice . He was so pleased with himself you'd have thought he'd split the atom .

Goes off on bike with small rucksack. Comes back with half a dozen things throws the bag on the worktop and tells me to put it away caveman style. 😂
He keeps buying himself cheap shit coffee from Lidl which is undrinkable so gets binned. Took pity on him last week so bought him some Azeera.
Meanwhile my shopping trip requires four big bags at least, some stuff decanted into garage fridge and freezer. Then struggling down the steps into the house to empty all the other bags 🙄

Once dh went shopping, i tend to go as i have more time and actually enjoy it.
I said Strawberries, raspberries blueberries for the kids as they love them and we get through a fair amount ( more before price rises)
He came back with 5 punnets of each!
He said thatll see them through a fair while!
Yet the Strawberries and raspberries had the next days date and already didnt look all that great.
Yoghurts petit filous 3 x 18 packs! He said we seem to go through a few yoghurts dont we.
Yes well each dc had 1 or 2 a day ( 2 dcs) but still.
Everything was in huge quantities that i couldn't store.
And he got not much stuff we actually needed not much dinners lunchbox stuff.
Also spent nearly £200 when it used be be about £90
I then had to do another £50 to get what we needed.
We often joke about it

😂
Yes, I know exactly what you mean!
When I've been out for a few hours and he's been at home I also get a blow-by-blow full rundown of absolutely everything he's done. Emptied the bins - wow. Have a medal. Did I notice that he's done the hoovering? Yes I did, because he's untidied at the same time. Cleaned the bathroom? Yes, I noticed that as well, because he's stuffed everything back any old how. Done the shopping? Yep - I can see that's been done because half of it is on the side in the kitchen waiting to be put away, and there's an empty carrier bag in the middle of the floor.

DH went and did a shop this morning while I was still in bed. He came in to the bedroom on return, asked me to close my eyes, and presented me with a massive joint of gammon he'd got half price
Stop it!!! I'm laughing so hard I can't breathe!

I can just imagine @QueSyrahSyrah trying very hard to muster up some energy and excitement for that. 😂😂
