Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

I met Laura Main (Shelagh Turner from Call the Midwife). She was v like her character, lovely and warm, quite a nervous energy. Couldn't believe how much tinier she was in real life than on screen, she must have been not much over 5ft and tiny thin.

Have met Robbie Coltrane years and years ago at a public event and he wasn't particularly obliging to fans but I'm sure there was a news story not long after about his marriage so you never know what people are going through.

My friend is a speech and language therapist and all the mums she works with were so excited for Mr Tumble coming locally to an event as the kids had been working so hard on Makaton. He showed up hours late hungover and refused to engage with any of the kids. Again though I have heard good and bad stories about him so it could have been a bad day.

Can't stand fricking mr tumble. Comes across as so false.

Murraydeservedit · 10/03/2023 16:22

Oh man, I can’t believe I forgot this, but someone told me they worked in a hotel and Gino D’Campo was checking in.

He was in a right mood but playing up to his character. A new member of staff kept making the same mistake and he totally dropped the character and started having a go at her in his natural northern accent.

Octopusmittens · 10/03/2023 16:25

Johnny Depp, funny, kind, self deprecating, very quick witted.
Helena Bonham-Carter funny and sparky.
Both great company.

I see what you're saying, but it would be slightly worrying if that was actually his real self, no?

Vernon Kay has an incredibly high opinion of himself. He's not very quick.

He was just the same at school according to friends who taught him!

I remember seeing David Essex stuck in a traffic jam the other way in London years ago. I'm looking at him trying to work out why he looked familiar and he gave me the loveliest smile I've ever seen.

We were stuck in a jam and my granddaughter in the back started to giggle, That man's pulling funny faces grandma! When I looked I recognised him but couldn't place him. Only later after much brain searching did I realise it was Prince Harry!

Verv · 10/03/2023 16:32

The late Johnny Morris was lovely to me when I was a kid. Lived nearby and we regularly chatted animals over orange squash.

Irishgirl55 · 10/03/2023 16:33

David Beckham was lovely! Stood for hours taking picture and signing autographs for hours

I worked in a theatre so met a lot, but Kathy Burke stands out as the nicest. She's exactly as you would imagine - very down to earth, chatted to everyone, remembered everybody's name. Plenty of celebs were pleasant enough but she was on a different level.

I'm so glad you said this! I absolutely adore her and would have been so sad if she was an arse.

Well when I say mr tumble, I actually mean Justin Fletcher the guy who plays him. I don't even think he actually likes the children he works with. Always looking at the camera and not genuinely interacting with the kids on his show something special.

@PenelopeTitsDrop3121 I met a number of the lost boys and Frog Brothers in 2007 (no Kiefer, Alex or Jason). I will never not be gutted about Corey Haim (13 years ago today 😭). I bumped into him outside of the convention and he was a sweet sweet man, and so clearly a lost soul.

Bless him 🥺 I'm meeting the frog brothers and Jason Patric next month. Can't wait!! Not too sure about JP if I'm honest, after he stole Julia Roberts from Kiefer, but Kiefer has forgiven him so....👍

Stood behind Bill Oddie at a Pret a Manger once. Rude.

I think he has severe mental health issues.

GoodChat · 10/03/2023 16:37

That's because they're creating the show for the TV audience.

OutOfChocolate · 10/03/2023 16:37

Jo Brand and Claire Darling both lovely people.
Tessa Sanderson was nice but seemed to assume my disabled DD had learning disabilities in the way she talked to her. She is very intelligent.

Are you sure it was Robbie Coltrane you met? He was over 6ft! Unless you were expecting him to be Hagrid sized?

It was well before Harry Potter, I'm a shade under 6" and I was looking down to speak to him.

Unless he was sitting down or your memory is playing tricks on you, that wasn't Robbie Coltrane. He was 6ft 1in.

The late Johnny Morris was lovely to me when I was a kid. Lived nearby and we regularly chatted animals over orange squash.

My Dad worked for the BBC and when I was a very small baby, Johnny Morris lent over me and said oh how cute or whatever, and I bit him. (Being used to dealing with animals, he took it well, according to my mum.)

TrainedByCats · 10/03/2023 16:39

Shona McGarty is very lovely, I had no idea who she was as I don’t watch Eastenders was obvious I had no clue - googled name later when realised she was famous.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 10/03/2023 16:40

Emma Thompson is my fave celeb I've met - funny, v posh and fantastically sweary!
Annie Lennox was a total diva to me once years ago and Robert Carlisle was an arse when best friend and I crossed paths with him at a music festival

kkr168 · 10/03/2023 16:40

Only celeb I've ever met was Emma Forbes (blue peter) she was lovely.

Robbie Coltrane was a boisterous and engaging raconteur and also a right shortarse!

He's listed as being 6 foot 2

RosaMoline · 10/03/2023 16:46

I’ve noticed in these type of threads that anyone who’s had any kind of interaction with Cilla Black, James Corden or David Jason it’s always negative!

RosaMoline · 10/03/2023 16:47

Has anyone met or know anyone who’s met Julie Walters or Michael Caine? I absolutely love them.

beccaskylar · 10/03/2023 16:47

Cheeseandlobster · 10/03/2023 12:21

Ooh I am going to enjoy this thread.
I arranged insurance for Bobby Davro, Michael Elphick and Wendy Richards. All we lovely.

As an annoying child I accosted Sylvester Mcoy outside a London theatre chanting that I knew he was really Doctor Who. He was very patient

I love Sylvester McCoy, he was my doctor!

Wishimaywishimight · 10/03/2023 16:50

Denis Hopper. I was only in his company for a minute. He seemed very pleasant,, said"hi there" to me I blushed and said "hi". His (younger very beautiful) wife ignored me completely. This was about 25 years ago.
