Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Anthony Keidis and Flea from Red Hot Chilli peppers.

They used a studio I worked in when I was younger a few times and they were just so lovely to everyone. Remembered peoples names, asked about their children etc.

Never expected anyone to run around after them or get them things, made coffee for everyone, ordered in cakes and treats.

Just lovely people.

Eminems band, D12 are a bunch of great guys too. Absolutely hilarious and down to Earth.

Just waiting for Anthony Head to show up as the nicest as he always does on these threads!

I’ve met Pete Doherty, he was wasted but very sweet.

Miquita Oliver was very rude and snobby.

MO is horrid. She shoved me out of the way when I was trying to leave a shop and she was coming in. I was eight months pregnant at the time. I was pleased when she went bankrupt.

MarmiteMakesMeHappy · 10/03/2023 15:11

Some through work:

Ray Winstone - lovely and funny as fuck
Danny Dyer - lovely and smarter than you think
Liz Hurley - very friendly and quite naughty!
Damien Lewis - quite serious but really nice
Paul Anderson - completely brilliant. Proper 'lad' but intelligent and witty and really warm. We laughed till we cried.
Tom Conti - exactly how you imagine
Sir Richard Attenborough - Gorgeous and really listens to you. I wanted him to be my grandad
Charlotte Rampling: Friendly but quite floaty and bonkers
Guy Ritchie - Very likable and down to earth
Tom Hardy - Chatty, friendly and really normal
James Corden - RUDE ARSEHOLE
Miriam Marolyes - RUDE ARSEHOLE
Steve Coogan - Depends on the day of the week. I've been out in small groups where he's been part of the group a few times and he's been good fun and really friendly/chatty and on other occasions, a complete dick

Are you sure it was Robbie Coltrane you met? He was over 6ft! Unless you were expecting him to be Hagrid sized?

It was well before Harry Potter, I'm a shade under 6" and I was looking down to speak to him.

Murraydeservedit · 10/03/2023 15:12

Some of the smaller bands who had had a little bit of success though - christ on a bike. Absolute arseholes who acted like they were the rolling stones. Wouldn’t take dark glasses off in a dark studio. Thought they were so cool and edgy to take drugs at 2pm while everyone else just rolled their eyes. Thought every woman there fancied them. Pricks.

Runnerupthehill · 10/03/2023 15:12

Lando Norris and the other driver for Mclaren… Oscar something? Both were just lovely. Steve from Corrie years ago. Nice guy.

Crikeyalmighty · 10/03/2023 15:12

@REP22 ask Ken is lovely indeed , as is johnniexwalker, Simon mayo, Stuart maximise and Steve wright and of course the lovely John peel (RIP) .

Crikeyalmighty · 10/03/2023 15:13

Should be stuart maconie !! Fat fingers day today

Todaynotalways · 10/03/2023 15:13

Mufflette · 10/03/2023 12:28

Of those I've worked with, Ralf Little and Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley from Corrie) stand out as being great, Robert Webb as being not - 3 days on set and he wouldn't even say hello in passing to anyone but the director. Even ignored the super cute dog he was sharing a scene with. The dog was lovely.

Robert Webb once gave me the stink-eye for accidentally making eye contact with him in West Hampstead.

I wasn't a fan, our eyes just happened to meet.

In his defense, maybe he is used to being harangued.

TwinsAndTiramisu · 10/03/2023 15:13

Without going into how, have met quite a few, but in quite private circumstances, so I would say this is decent reflection of how they are, as no paps or people with phones to uphold an image in front of.

Lindsay Lohan, lovely woman. Sir Philip Green, actually really nice...Tina his wife, an insufferable arse. Bill Gates, funny and very kind in his demeanour. Jack Whitehall, terrible manners, over inflated ego and sneery. Petshop Boys, lovely people. Will.i.am really nice guy. Victoria Silvedst, not nice at all. Yet to meet a footballer with a moral code. Nice enough to make idle chit chat too. But wouldn't trust as far as I could throw.

Oh, and Kylie, I saw when I was a child, but in a general public setting and she was very beautiful, very tiny and very patient with lots of people trying to take her picture.

Not really a celeb, but once at Center Parcs, we were in the queue behind Stuart from EastEnders, who could not have been more attention seeking and hoping to be noticed.

What a nasty statement in the OP.

Sadly, Sarah is no longer alive to defend herself.

What are the chances the OP writes for the Daily Fail or similar rag.

Crikeyalmighty · 10/03/2023 15:15

@Murraydeservedit you've hit the nail on the head- most very successful people in music are/were pretty nice - Ron wood for instance- you won't meet a nicer chap!! many who were one hit wonders can be complete tits.

lastnightidreamtiwenttomandaloreagain · 10/03/2023 15:16

Vic Reeves - rude and up his own arse. His wife's lovely though.

Keith Chegwin - very chatty and friendly.

Geoffrey Palmer - rude and arrogant, which was really disappointing.

Natalie Portman - so sweet and lovely and stunningly beautiful in person.

Jules Holland - very "Don't you know who I am?"

Letsseewhatageniusheturnsouttobeintheend · 10/03/2023 15:16

Tony Wilson, guitarist with Hot Chocolate (anyone remember them?) is not a creep or a perv😂

I have a very embarrassing memory of being at the front of a gig they did in the ‘70’s, at their height, and doing the screaming thing
🤷‍♀️

I also kept putting my arm up for him to touch 😬 He just smiled at me and shook his head like an indulgent uncle I might have kept it up through the concert anyways he was pleasant, professional, enjoying the music and performing but not into underage girls. He looked as though he were a bit bewildered and embarrassed.
Bless him. Good musician though.

ShippingForecastMeditator · 10/03/2023 15:17

Russell Brand. Hideous arsehole.

spiderlight · 10/03/2023 15:18

Spidey66 · 10/03/2023 14:26

Neil Morrisey is an acquaintance of mine. He drinks in a local pub, we have friends in common and I have his phone number!

He's a lovely man, very down to earth and a bit like his character Tony in Men Behaving Badly ie a bit cheeky but likeable.

I got an 18th birthday kiss from him when he was in panto in my town many many years ago, before he was massively famous. My friends and I had gone to the theatre to leave him a present (probably a really embarrassing teddy, knowing us!) and bumped into him in the foyer. He said it was the first time anyone had ever taken him a present before a show. My friend blurted out 'It's her birthday!' and he gave me a lovely kiss 😍

MrsTerryPratchett · 10/03/2023 15:18

Marilyn Mason - utter twat

Keith Flint from the Prodigy - lovely, polite and sweet

It was always the same. The bigger the band, in general, the nicer they were.

They seem to get over the egos after a few years and become normal people again.

MarmiteMakesMeHappy · 10/03/2023 15:19

ShippingForecastMeditator · 10/03/2023 15:17

Russell Brand. Hideous arsehole.

Conversely: Russell Kane (comedian not 'eye in the sky') - really nice.

Crikeyalmighty · 10/03/2023 15:19

Paul McCartney and Elton John are both lovely men who do an awful lot of good that goes unpublicised

GoodChat · 10/03/2023 15:20

Miriam Marolyes - RUDE ARSEHOLE

This makes me sad but I'm also not surprised

HoldingTheDoor · 10/03/2023 15:22

The Jonathan Creek man, Alan Davies(?) is apparently awful. A friend of mine was somewhere and he was there and again, some children approached him and he bollocked their parent for allowing them to go near him.

He is. He bit a homeless man's ear once. Apparently because he was grief stricken after losing a friend.

I've lost a lot of people and I still fail to see the connection.

It disgusts me to see him on tv after that. Likewise Boy George.

BumbleBee92 · 10/03/2023 15:22

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 12:49

I've always fancied him.

There should be a poll of who fancies Sean Bean - there is the most consensus about him than any other celeb amongst people I know.

thing47 · 10/03/2023 15:23

Sir Philip Green, actually really nice

Really? I met him once in a work capacity and thought he was the most unpleasant, sleaziest man I have ever met. By a margin.

HoldingTheDoor · 10/03/2023 15:24

I've met Till Lindemann of Rammstein twice and he was lovely both times though his mood was very different in each encounter but he was incredibly nice.
