Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Michael Palin is exactly how you'd expect him to be - warm, friendly and an all round lovely person.

Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen is also exactly how you'd expect - an arse. Also MUCH shorter than think he'd be.

We had a holiday inCornwall in the early 2000s and at every turn we ran into LLB. It almost got to the point where we were looking out for him so we could tick him off for the day, relax and get on with the rest of our day knowing he wasn’t going to be in yet another cafe we went into …….. unless we were very unlucky. Which one day we bloody were.

HelloDaisy · 10/03/2023 14:47

Dh worked with Lenny Henry and said he was lovely, Dawn French not so much!

Dsil worked with Kylie Minogue and said she was wonderful.

I met Jack Dee once in a cafe and he was as grumpy as he always seemed on tv!

Littlegoth · 10/03/2023 14:48

@PenelopeTitsDrop3121 I met a number of the lost boys and Frog Brothers in 2007 (no Kiefer, Alex or Jason). I will never not be gutted about Corey Haim (13 years ago today 😭). I bumped into him outside of the convention and he was a sweet sweet man, and so clearly a lost soul.

panachronic · 10/03/2023 14:51

Back in the day, Annie Lennox was very rude to me one extremely busy Sunday morning at a cafe I used to work at in Islington, demanding that I "hurry up and clear this table!" I have disliked her ever since. As would and do anyone who is rude to waiting staff.

Indecisivebynature · 10/03/2023 14:52

Chris Tarrant was really arrogant and offish (it was at a charity event).

Paul Whitehouse really down to earth.

threeplusmum · 10/03/2023 14:52

Bumped into a couple of well known extras on Eastenders in a club in Covent Garden, and I hugged them and they asked me how I was etc then it got awkward as I didn't want to pester then so I went off with my mate. But yeah they were really friendly.

CymruChris · 10/03/2023 14:53

I used to work in a coffee shop In a motorway services and served Stuart Cable every week. Lovely unassuming man, very pleasant and polite. Gutted I never plucked up the courage to say how much of a fan I was and get a pic!

I also served Rufus Sewell once, also lovely and very polite.

After a gig once I was staying in the same hotel as Toploader, we ended up sitting with them til 4am getting hammered. Absolutely lovely bunch of blokes, so funny and down to earth!

threeplusmum · 10/03/2023 14:54

Also seen ex Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as I used to work as a steward there. He walked past us as we were being debriefed and he came across as extremely shy, had his head down and he's so tiny.

Elderflower14 · 10/03/2023 14:54

Joan Hickson... Exactly the same as Miss Marple...
Anthony Head... Very impressed when my son taught him the sign languages for vampire... Lovely guy.
Keith Floyd was hilarious. Came to stay with us for the weekend.. Asked my sister for a mallet to shut me up!

Andy Peters... Vile... He was compering Percy Pigs birthday party last year which my son and I won tickets too... AP made a little boy cry!

Littlegoth · 10/03/2023 14:55

oh Jean-Claude Van Damme was AMAZING!

This was at a convention. He recognised the chap after us from a previous convention, made a huge fuss of him and swapped numbers! He took him out to dinner that evening too. Not jealous at all 😂😂

Brendan Fraser completely stole my heart though and I’m so pleased to see him back in the spotlight.

saymynamex · 10/03/2023 14:55

@Littlegoth please tell me you met Corey Feldman and he was lovely. I have loved him forever

Abraxan · 10/03/2023 14:55

Tom Felton [Draco Malfoy] came across as really lovely and down to earth.
Sat behind him in an outside bar in Venice Beach.
He was clearly just out for a quiet drink in the late afternoon, after skateboarding up beside the beach. We decided to leave him be as he didn't look like he was in 'celeb' mode. He knew we had spotted him though as dd 's whisper was a little louder than it could have been!! A couple of girls did speak to him and he seemed really polite with them. When we left, he gave DD a lovely smile, wave and did a little trick on his board before skating off again.

saymynamex · 10/03/2023 14:55

@Littlegoth in fact don't tell me if he wasn't!!

Vinorosso74 · 10/03/2023 14:57

James McAvoy was nice when I met him at the swimming pool, quite pleasant and chatty enough but not full on. We were both in the small pool with our kids who were 3 or 4 at the time. I had no idea who I was chatting to until DP appeared back from the main pool.

REP22 · 10/03/2023 15:00

Ken Bruce is lovely.

Alex Jones is very much not.

Nellieinthebarn · 10/03/2023 15:00

Will someone please confirm that David Tennant is lovely...and don't if he isn't.

Soapnutty · 10/03/2023 15:01

TheFlis12345 · 10/03/2023 12:44

Oh yes I worked with Ralph too, he was really kind and funny.

I have a big crush on Ralf Little. I am glad he is as nice as he comes across in interviews.

lucys283 · 10/03/2023 15:01

Dellaandthedealer · 10/03/2023 14:40

Disappointed to hear Peter Kay was arsey……….😢

He's always on these type of threads as not being nice.

Littlegoth · 10/03/2023 15:03

@saymynamex Corey Feldman was lovely. He’s got a reputation for being a diva, but I didn’t see any of that and he was a sweetheart. I gave him some photos I’d taken the day before of the group all together, and he called his wife (now ex wife) and Corey H over to show them. He really made a fuss.

Nucon · 10/03/2023 15:04

GaladrielHiggins · 10/03/2023 13:19

Are you sure it was Robbie Coltrane you met? He was over 6ft! Unless you were expecting him to be Hagrid sized?

I feel like maybe they meant Ronnie Corbett as like you say Robbie Coltrane is definitely not a shortarse

Lochjeda · 10/03/2023 15:04

Met Simone Denny who was the singer from Love Inc in a pub in Glasgow a few years ago. She was out eating with her sister and came out and sung us a couple of songs at a hen do we were on and was so lovely. The worst was Bruce Jones who played Les Battersby, seen him in the bar in the airport in Palma 20 years ago, said alright Les and he shouted aggressively "fuckkk offff" oh I was also in the same hotel as Ricky Groves who played Gary Hobbs in eastenders a few years in Lanzarote and he was a lovely guy and done the karaoke a fair bit, he was a good singer.

Jamiroquai. Not very nice at all. His wife on the other hand, lovely!

oh Ive met JK many many times and he was lovely. We used to chat a lot outside a coffee shop where we lived and he was fine. Maybe an off day.

Same as Sarah harding - met her in M&S often, always smiled, gave autographs to the kids who asked, same with selfies.

Jamie Oliver was nice, his wife too.

Everyone is entitled to privacy and an 'off' day.

My favourite is Princess Anne, she was lovely.

Not been in those circles for a few years though, can't think of anyone lately who I have met who was nice or not.

crochetmonkey74 · 10/03/2023 15:07

Nice - David Essex, Julian Clary ,Rob Brydon, Ruth JOnes, Michael Ball,

Not nice - Cliff Richard, Ant from Ant and Dec,

Wexone · 10/03/2023 15:08

Nice
John Bishop - Sound out, had the crack with him and was so nice.
Not nice
Francis Brennan - Famous TV presenter and hotelier here in Ireland. He was staying in same hotel as a relations wedding here, bride went up to ask for a photos, he actually ran like a child away from her, putting his hand up tp cover his face and knocked someone down getting in to the lift. Never checked was she ok. Mother inlaw met him at an event next day he told her i attacked buy a gaggle of drunken wedding party last night. My mother in law put him straight saying it was two people, one was a bride who weren't drunk as don't drink plus you never checked on the lady that you knocked down was she ok and walked off. I loved him untill that point watched all the shows and even purchased his bedding from Dunnes. Dont now not that it affects him though i say but makes me feel better

Crikeyalmighty · 10/03/2023 15:09

@GreatContinental had an evening once in Majorca drinking with geldof and his family- he can be a bit prickly but I really liked him. Disagree with anyone who mentioned Phil Collins, we work in music and he is perfectly nice- he's had masses of really bad ill health and I think that's affected him. Alistair Campbell was lovely, very interesting , listens well and quite deep.

Arses- plenty of them - the pre mentioned Boy George is well known in the industry as an up himself funny bugger as is Morrissey
