Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

I always love reading these but think they are a bit unfair. If I think of times in my life- sometimes I’ve been a complete arsehole to others and I can’t think too much about these moments without feeling such a sense of embarrassment (when I was very drunk and younger generally) and because it’s anonymous here I can say I’ve done some very nice things for people privately and urged them to keep it absolutely quiet afterwards as I don’t want other people to know. Most of the time I’m just quiet and probably come across as bored or moody. I think if someone is coming up time and time again though on these boards it’s fair to say they are probably very unpleasant.

Anyway, these are the ones I met who were very pleasant to me. Robert Rinder, Jarvis Cocker, Alex Ferguson, Julia Donaldson and Jedward.

I've always thought to myself that he's not as nice as he seems.

He doesn't even seem nice!

lovescats3 · 12/03/2023 21:43

Also lovely - princess Anne, Tony Benn , Johnny cash

SemperIdem · 12/03/2023 21:49

William and Catherine are both very nice, extremely skilled in appearing to be entirely engaged with the person they’re speaking to. Whether they really are or not, who knows.

Ruth Jones is a miserable arse

Has anyone met Lee Mack ? Wondered what he’s like irl ?

I have, at a wedding. He was perfectly pleasant.

Sean Lock was memorably wonderful, a really gentle man.

Alan Davies (not at the wedding) was also pleasant, very understated, quite shy, but not at all dickish.

Sienna Miller, also very pleasant. Open, friendly, easy to talk to.

Christina Aguilera, was working when I met her, very gracious and professional, polite.

Paul2023 · 12/03/2023 21:50

I met Chris Bryant ( Labour MP) whilst working for the military. He came and met a few of us and brought us drinks.

Met Stephen Mulhern last year at Butlins. DD wanted to have a photo of him after a show,he was nice enough.

I met Darren Anderton and Teddy Sheringham back in the 90s when they played for Spurs and England.

Username721 · 12/03/2023 21:56

Haven’t read every page but wondering how Kirsty Allsopp is? I can’t stand her on tv. 😆

Odiebay · 12/03/2023 21:58

Worked behind the scenes with some celebs. Talked to a few but mostly watched their interactions with others.

Nice
Melinda messenger-compliments everyone.
Tina from a club 7-really makes an effort with those around her.
Dec- really friendly. Tried to compensate for Ants rudeness.
Taylor swift- a real genius. Her mind just works differently. During a particularly long day she made conversation with me and we even discussed my fav songs of hers. Her mum came to set too and was just the sweetest.
Little mix - minus jesy. All really nice and sang beautifully live.
Niall horan- so friendly and very funny.
Dakota Johnson - epitome of cool. So cute.
Michael macintyre- always jolly and friendly.
Sarah JP - really nice. Kind to everyone.
Kylie Jenner - really nice but a bit demanding.
Dolly Parton - biggest sweetheart and loveliest human on the planet. Called everyone darlin' and made sure everyone was having a good time.

Not nice
Lee ryan- pulled a "do you know who I am" in Frankie and Benny's
Ant - completely opposite to Dec. Rude to kids. This was the SMTV Live days.
Zayn - clearly not a happy bunny
James cordon - no idea where his self righteousness comes from. Very disappointing.
Kim Kardashian - biggest list of demands I have ever seen. Very rude when noone was watching. Turns it on for the camera.
Tom jones- didn't have time for anyone. Couldn't understand why everything wasn't to his specific schedule.

HedgehogB · 12/03/2023 22:02

Dawn French - all over the men wherever she is and totally blanks the women. Had two experiences of her years apart and she was the same both times. Lenny Henry very very grumpy in fact he’s so difficult on set that’s why the Premier inn ads only use his voice now! . Wayne Sleep absolutely loves himself , loves attention and did a lot of drugs. Des o Connor was lovely, but no fake tan on when he was at home so looked pale and tiny , in a soft pastel tracksuit !

pollykitty · 12/03/2023 22:05

ladygindiva · 12/03/2023 20:52

Laurence Llewellyn Bowen, very nice and "ordinary" as was his wife.

I have the biggest crush on him! He just seems so sweet and I love the loyalty to his wife.

MikeLitoriss · 12/03/2023 22:08

Hugh Grant - lovely, flirty and a bit saucy!

Claire Sweeney - repugnant and rude

John barrowman- sweet and polite, lots of energy.

AnnieSnap · 12/03/2023 22:12

Stressedafff · 10/03/2023 19:54

Phil Foden, massive chip on his shoulder and really really rude

I think it’s not unusual for young, premier league footballers to be like that. It makes sense when you think that from as young as 17/18, with raging hormones, many have a several million pound contracts, everyone telling them how special and fabulous they are and young women are queuing up to sleep with them. Understanding that doesn’t make them any nicer, but I get why many behave like that.

WickedWitchOfTheEast87 · 12/03/2023 22:14

I met Ade Edmonson once he was filming a documentary in a pub I was in celebrating my birthday I loved Bottom but didn't want to ask for photo so my mum did! She told him it was my birthday and I was fan he said yeah sure. He so was lovely and polite wished me happy birthday and had photos with everyone and then sat quietly at the bar with his drink and no one disturbed him. I've also met Natalie Cassidy and Nicola Walker both were lovely and chatted to fans.

JaffaCake70 · 12/03/2023 19:22

I met R2D2 today in The Trafford Centre. I had my photo taken with him, he didn't say much but seemed very warm and friendly for a robot!

😂😂

Frazzledstar1 · 12/03/2023 22:17

a relation of mine used to work as a taxi driver (more professional private hire, not cabbie) and once picked up Lenny Henry, said he was really rude to them.

MrsStott · 12/03/2023 22:19

When I worked in Manchester during Commonwealth Games I bumped into Angela Griffin and the S Club7 girl’s, all very entitled and up their own arses.

PictureConsequences · 12/03/2023 22:38

Harls1969 · 12/03/2023 18:42

I met Shirley Crabtree - otherwise known as Big Daddy and he was really lovely. Ian McKellen - a sweetheart. John Thompson - friendly and funny. Jo Brand - lovely.

My husband spent an evening with Jeremy Clarkson and said he was really funny and happy to chat.

My grandma used to babysit Shirley Crabtree! I will assume he behaved well...

Santiago1 · 12/03/2023 22:38

Not James Spader! You take that back. Also, he's mine......

sidebirds · 12/03/2023 22:45

always wore creepers to give himself an extra inch. regular in The Grove pub in Camberwell. found myself on a table in the same pub with Lorraine Chase (& her dogs) a few years ago. low-key & polite.

Crinkle77 · 12/03/2023 22:47

I've never met anyone famous except Carl Hunter from the band The Farm. He's a lecturer at the uni I work at and he's a very nice chap. Michelle Keegan's brother also went to uni there. Saw her at her brother's graduation. She was very tiny and pretty but didn't make a big scene about who she was. She just blended in with everyone else but never spoke to her.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 10/03/2023 19:52

@bazzabas

Who the hell are you do decree who is 'nice' and 'not nice'?

Are you Father Christmas?

Maybe people don't find your judgemental attitude to be very 'nice'.

🙄

19lottie82 · 12/03/2023 22:59

Howard from Take That - misery guts

my heart is now broken!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/03/2023 23:16

Barry Scott from the Cillit Bang advert opened my local Range shop and is really nice!

Just goes to prove what people often say, that the huge megastars know they have nothing to prove and thus can show the here-today-gone-tomorrow d-listers how kindly they should behave Grin Grin Grin

Fucking hell, can you imagine what it's like to be asked to have your photo taken while you are doing your shopping? I think it's people like you who have high opinions of yourself , believing that people should do what you want simply because you have seen them on the telly!

Regardless of whether Will Young as an individual is nice/neutral/nasty, I think, in principle, this is really something to bear in mind – as the poster did say that he’d only just become a recognised public figure. I also completely agree that there’s a massive difference between just wanting to be left alone when you’re not working (especially when you’re out with your kids/family) and shouting/screaming/being demanding as your default.

I can well see how, when it’s all new to you, you would find suddenly being recognised by strangers scary and overwhelming and SOME naturally introverted people (obviously by no means all) may react very off as a defence mechanism; whereas the really big names may love or hate the attention/the general public intensely, but they’ve had time to know what the score is and either learn to embrace/adapt/avoid (with the latter, it probably helps if you reach the point where you have staff and never have to meet the public if you don't want to) or otherwise decide what’s more important to them: maintaining a public ‘nice’ image – regardless of how they actually are in reality – or just going full-on ‘take the fame for all it’s worth’ and owning being a baddie!! Of course, we have no way of knowing whether they are truly nice people or extremely good (and permanently resentful) actors – especially those who ARE actors!!

I met R2D2 today in The Trafford Centre. I had my photo taken with him, he didn't say much but seemed very warm and friendly for a robot!

Good to know he’s the exact opposite of his cousin who works at the self-service checkout I used in Asda yesterday – she just kept shouting at me and even clearly implying that I may be a thief Grin Grin Grin

He was amazing as Jesus. Those piercing blue eyes.

He is indeed a very talented actor, but that has highly amused me: specifically pointing out his blue eyes when he's playing a middle-eastern Jewish man!

Nastiest = Paul O’Grady
He was friends with Cilla Black, that explains it.

And yet, they were both best pals with Dale Winton, whom everybody always says was genuinely really lovely. Odd, isn’t it?!

John Barnes is ace and his kids are great.

I have never met him in person and have no interest whatsoever in football, but I do really like John Barnes when I’ve seen him on TV in a non-football context. A gentle, intelligent, fair-minded, thinking person.

I am friends with a cousin of Declan Donnelly who assures me Dec is lovely.

Many (ordinary) people who’ve met him (including on this and other similar threads) seem to report the same (which is not necessarily the case for ‘people’ he ‘may’ frequently work with….), but to be fair, he’s never likely to be have been anything else with his cousin who he’s known for all/most of his life and from long before he was famous, is he?!
