Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Rappers Professor Green and Lowkey are top guys, lovely and friendly. John Barnes is ace and his kids are great.

I’ve met David Jason (del boy) a few times and he is simply thé loveliest person, so jolly and fun and prepared to give his time - also much shorter than I thought he was!

Princess Anne once nearly ran me over with her Land Rover when I was a child (she was driving herself) so she falls into the ‘arse’ category for me (I was on a zebra crossing at the time and maybe 10 or 11 years old).

Tenuous celebrity link 101 but for work I used the same central London car park as David Jason for a while in the 90s. I’d spot him and never say anything. The guys who worked at the NCP car park though were very protective of him, he’d not long lost his partner to cancer.

Are you sure it was Robbie Coltrane you met? He was over 6ft! Unless you were expecting him to be Hagrid sized?

It was well before Harry Potter, I'm a shade under 6" and I was looking down to speak to him.

No wonder he was pzzzt he'd obviously got stuck in a hole and nobody helped him 😳😉

Sir Bobby Charlton, lovely lovely man.
Morrisey tried to give my son a tip for putting his food shopping in the boot of his car at collect by car at m and s. He said he was really friendly.
Craig Charles, arrogant arse, full of himself, still owes my business money (not hundreds but that’s not the point).
Sally (coronation St), got quite shirty with me, although I did nearly knock her over, reversing my car slowly out of a space!
Marcus Rashford, not a pleasant man at all, watch this space.
Mary Berry, just how you’d expect, pure loveliness.

What was the issue with Marcus Rashford? He's always come across as nice.

Personal knowledge here but he’s very media savvy. PP is right about him and it’ll soon come out.

Zuffe · 12/03/2023 20:15

Agree on King Charles (met him a few times as Prince) and Deborah Meaden. Nice people. Charles has a memory of an elephant.

Mumonthemove10 · 12/03/2023 20:15

Pedro Pascal is an actual angel sent from above. Funny, charming, generous and really truly appreciates all the good things that have come his way. He’s been my no1 for a long time!

I met the Duchess of York in a London restaurant. She randomly started talking to my daughter who was only little and it was a while before we realised who was talking to her. She was absolutely lovely. Very kind (she gave both my kids books she had in of her bag and signed them with a personal message) and she chatted to us for ages. Very humble, very friendly and very kind.

Sounds like she was flogging her merch

slowquickstep · 12/03/2023 19:41

Philip Schofield is awful as is Cherry Blair, Andre Lloyd Webber is obnoxious. Duchess of York is lovely

Maybe Cherie and Andrew didn't like you because you called them made up names

Actupfishy · 12/03/2023 20:20

Sarah was a lovely girl.

The least ‘stuck up’ of the alouds

Sassysia · 12/03/2023 20:22

Friend met David Beckham through work and said he was actually so nice and down to earth and great with children. Also another time through work she met Dermot O’Leary and Mark Wright. Dermot was lovely, Mark was ok.
I met Alastair McGowan after a gig and he chatted for ages and sat with us and had a drink - really friendly.

POTC · 12/03/2023 20:23

On The Big Breakfast in 90s. Chris Evans and Gabby Roslin were lovely, Danny Baker was an arse.

AllInADay · 12/03/2023 20:23

Nicest chap in the world - Joe Dempsie

I saw Will Young in M&S in London years ago. Asked for a pic but he refused. Scribbled his name on a flyer and passed it to me. Very high opinion of himself. He’s just become slightly famous after X factor. I walked off with my shopping and just left the leaflet there.

You realise you don’t have any right to a photograph?

I don't see the point in threads like these- other than to name drop.

How can anyone make a judgement on someone they see or talk to for just a brief time?
Nasty people can sometimes be polite, and decent people can have shit days.

This ⬆️⬆️⬆️

sunshinepleasecome · 12/03/2023 20:28

I saw Harry Styles in the street once - this was just after X Factor so before he became as famous as he is now. Only a couple of people (including me) recognised him. He was very friendly and chatty.

Sushiii · 12/03/2023 20:28

James Martin - rather smug and full of himself

Meowandthen · 12/03/2023 20:32

I find it utterly hilarious that people are expected to be “humble”, as if tugging their forelocks are some random who accosts them is the only indicator of being nice.

wonderinglywondering · 12/03/2023 20:34

I have a few more I have remembered:

Julian Barratt & Matt Berry from The Mighty Boosh were lovely and danced with us at a student type night back when it was on TV. Everyone wanted to talk to them and they were just lovely and chatting away, quite drink as was I!

Also spent a night drinking with Jamie T if anyone remembers him from the 00’s, really nice guy.

Amber Benson from Buffy was so kind to me as a geeky awkward star struck teenager at a signing.

Bradley from S Club 7 somehow ended up at a house party I was at while at uni. He was SO up himself and kept sending his mates around the party demanding no one take photos of him.

lieselotte · 12/03/2023 20:34

I've met Cherie Blair, Hannah Gordon and Rob Rinder and they were all lovely. Had quite a long chat with Hannah Gordon.

Also Ralph from Brookside, for those watching the reruns!

I am glad to hear that Rufus Sewell was nice!

TheGander · 12/03/2023 20:36

Tom Shakespeare disability rights activist and academic. We both turned up at a little museum before opening time. He is in a wheelchair and has dwarfism but his smile is huge and he just created a feeling of complicity without actually saying anything.

namitynamechange · 12/03/2023 20:36

Brian Blessed - bumped into him randomly. Very nice and EXACTLY like you would imagine he would be. Also incredibly patient given one of my friends accosted him with "Gordan's Alive" (we were uni students) and he happily boomed it back and posed for photos. Even though I would imagine he is sick of that phrase now.

Followtheyellowbrickroads · 12/03/2023 20:36

Nice:

Davina MCcall-just so so lovely and down to earth

Peter Jones-(Dragon’s den) V friendly, welcoming, funny & kind

Not as nice:

Melanie Sykes-rude and not what I expected at all

Darren day-I was in an audience as a child and he was a presenter, v moody, miserable and zero interest in the kids

Holly W-Completely different to what I imagined, to the point I was quite upset as really liked her on tv-disappointing

Norachance · 12/03/2023 20:38

Years ago through work I met
Kim Wilde - lovely
Glynis Barber - lovely
Nick Kamen ( Levi's) - lovely
Gloria Hunniford - quite standoffish
Simon Le Bon - an absolute sweetheart
Prince Charles - lovely
