Nicest/not nice celebs.

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 11:58

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Philip Schofield is awful as is Cherry Blair, Andre Lloyd Webber is obnoxious. Duchess of York is lovely

billie and sam's mum - she was so lovely and kept touching my arm when we were having a chat (aka i accosted her in a shop) and i literally burst out crying after i met her. she was THAT nice

michael caine and michael winner - both utter delights literally

anthea turner - believe what you read in the papers, kids. she was mean mean mean and told me to go to weightwatchers. she didn't tell me that once. she told me twice.

A friend of mine was having lunch in Harrods and Anthea Turner was with a group of friends at the next table. She said she was loud and treated the serving staff like dirt.

I'm really disappointed to hear that Sandi Toksvig seems to be a meanie; I've always really liked her.

I've met her twice, the first time I spent an hour with her for a work thing. She was very nice and friendly on both occasions (and I'm not a celeb).

WestendVBroadway · 12/03/2023 19:44

@12FreeRangeEggs ,I am sooo envious. If I could trip and fall into anyone's arm Micheal Ball would be the arms I would choose.

I would probably do the sign of the cross and kneel if I saw Robert Powell. He was fantastic as Jesus in ‘Jesus of Nazareth’

He was amazing as Jesus. Those piercing blue eyes.

Has anyone met Lee Mack ? Wondered what he’s like irl ?

Scotslass171 · 12/03/2023 19:51

One of my friends met jimmy saville tears ago. Her bil was involved in a nasty car accident and was in stoke Mandeville hospital and she was visiting him and Jimmy saville was there and she said there was definitely a dodgy vibe about him (this was way before it all came out about him)

I’m wondering the same… love Lee Mack!

DifferentlyMaybe · 12/03/2023 19:52

King Charles is genuinely lovely. Went out of his way to ensure I was okay when he really didn’t even need to acknowledge I was there.
Roy Walker also lovely and gave me tips on how to keep champagne fizzy until the next day.

Hiddendoor · 12/03/2023 19:52

DH and I have both bumped into Judy Murray at separate times. She was very polite to him as he thought he recognised her as a friend of mine. And I saw her out and about and she gave me a very cheery good morning as I was singing to myself.

I've met John Thompson in my place of work. Lovely friendly man.

I'm watching all of Cold Feet for the first time right now (loving it so far!). Good to hear he's nice like his character. I can't stand Karen at the moment!

Oh yes I worked with Ralph too, he was really kind and funny.

I went to a wedding where he was also a guest. You’d have thought he was Tom Cruise- body language clearly indicated no eye contact.

David essex in the 80s/early 90s was not a nice person to be around

....apparently not. Quite the opposite. But smiley throughout, I'm told.

Nicest = Helen McCrory
Nastiest = Paul O’Grady

He was friends with Cilla Black, that explains it.

Russell Brand. Hideous arsehole.

I thought he was alright tbf, but I can see that probably depends on the day/ setting

Rebel2 · 10/03/2023 12:31

Phil Spencer was lovely. Polite and thanked me lots

Maktoums - racing. Found out I loved horses when I was a child, said he had "a few" horses and invited me for a tour with my mum
Neither of us realised who he was until we got to the yard and my mums mouth dropped open at how amazing it was. Let us look round for a full day with staff to look after us and was the most insane experience

Yet he sacked one of his equine vets for not walking backwards out of a room.

I worked in a theatre so met a lot, but Kathy Burke stands out as the nicest. She's exactly as you would imagine - very down to earth, chatted to everyone, remembered everybody's name. Plenty of celebs were pleasant enough but she was on a different level.

“I love being ‘woke’. It’s much nicer than being an ignorant fucking twat.”

I adore Kathy Burke!

Nicest: Colin Baker (Doctor Who) giving my baby daughter her bottle so I could drink my coffee hot. Meeting John and Carole Chalis (Boycie from Only fools and Horses) in Blackpool they were lovely! Nicola Bryant (Doctor Who). Keith Flint (Prodigy) who came to see if my friend and I were ok In Leicester Square (my friend had been dumped by her boyfriend).

Not so nice. Tony Blackburn telling my then boyfriend to F off when he said excuse me my girlfriend thinks you're amazing (not anymore). Heather Locklear who I sat next to on a flight and she made our time miserable by being a total diva

My brother plays in a band (not a famous one) and met Keith and they chatted away for half an hour. Said he was a lovely fella. Said the same for Bruce Dickinson.

WalkingOnTheCracks · 12/03/2023 20:02

Spent an evening at a table with Steve Coogan. Very nice, but a bit sort of awkward and unsure of himself. It was very endearing.

TheFormidableMrsC · 12/03/2023 20:03

I met Brenda Blethyn and thought she was very full of herself and that was before she became famous. Was quite curt. I met her because she was in a play with a relative.

I have a friend who is an actress and is in a long running soap and is now widely known. She's a gorgeous person inside and out and entirely unaffected by her fame.

I had dinner with a member of Duran Duran. He was a perfectly amiable person but did cheat on his then fiancé (not with me I hasten to add).

George Michael - absolutely lovely.

Gloria Hunniford - friend of my parents and a lovely lovely person.

Richard Arnold - absolutely lovely.

Various known footballers because of my brother. All good and lovely chaps.

NevieSticks · 12/03/2023 20:05

Hugh Grant - a total dick to two young women who approached him in a golf club. Waved them away dismissively.
Alice Cooper - great man who took time to pose with everyone.
Had a friend who used to work in a clothing store in Manchester and she said Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth) was lovely.

I fancied Gary Linekar for years. Met him in a pub. Really horrid. So if anyone else was in his current predicament I’d feel sympathy. Not feeling it for him though.

Met him several times - he's really nice and v humble.

MissingMoominMamma · 12/03/2023 20:07

wellstopdoingitthen · 12/03/2023 18:46

Gillian Taylforth, Nick Berry & Jeremy Corbyn really lovely & genuine. Lemmy from Motörhead was great fun but absolutely blotto!

Margaret thatcher poked my dad with an umbrella because she wanted his window seat on the train. This was before she was PM, she was Education secretary at the time.

If he’d have had any milk, she would’ve taken that too!

PomRuns · 12/03/2023 20:09

Geri Halliwell - years ago, she was very fake and odd.
Cheryl from Girls Aloud - out of her depth at a charity event, didn't seem at all nice.

Noodles1234 · 12/03/2023 20:09

Ben Shepherd lovely and sweet, Tom Kerridge (Chef), so polite and humble, very genuine.
