Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Gordon Ramsay is also very charming, kind and nothing like the persona on tv

Poor taste though.

Do we have to say Saville was good to his mum?

I worked in my local theatre as a teenager, so met a few 'celebrities '. Brian Murphy from George and Mildred was an absolute sweetheart and bought me and my mates a drink. I also chatted to Barbara Knox( Rita from Corrie ) and John Altman ( Nick Cotton from Eastenders) they were both very pleasant. Jennifer Saunders and Ade Edmondson were also lovely and would stop and chat when in our local supermarket. John McEnroe was surprisingly very pleasant on a flight to USA. Linford Christie came into the Indian restaurant that we were in, it was very busy and he wanted a table for four for just him and his dining partner. DH and I had to move mid meal and share a table with a couple of strangers as he wanted the whole corner of the restaurant to himself!

Victoria Pendleton is stuck right up her own arse. How dare the little people even look at her.

Qantaqa · 12/03/2023 18:42

The only celeb I've ever met is Sir Stanley Matthews and he was absolutely delightful.

I am friends with a cousin of Declan Donnelly who assures me Dec is lovely.

Harls1969 · 12/03/2023 18:42

I met Shirley Crabtree - otherwise known as Big Daddy and he was really lovely. Ian McKellen - a sweetheart. John Thompson - friendly and funny. Jo Brand - lovely.

My husband spent an evening with Jeremy Clarkson and said he was really funny and happy to chat.

Brian Cox is very lovely and incredibly humble

Which Brian Cox?

evilharpy · 12/03/2023 18:43

Anyone met Bob Mortimer? I can't believe he would be unlovely. Such a funny man and no one ever seems to have a bad word to say about him.

MrsLawrence1 · 12/03/2023 18:44

Norman Reedus is an absolutely gorgeous human being! As is Jack Grealish, he was brilliant with my son.
Davina McCall rude AF and entitled.

Many years ago during a particularly dull day at work, I found myself on a forum for airline staff reading a massive thread about their experiences of various celebrities on flights. Cilla Black and Boris Becker were rated the rudest. Kylie was lovely apparently.

Cilla always gets a very low rating on these threads

wellstopdoingitthen · 12/03/2023 18:46

Gillian Taylforth, Nick Berry & Jeremy Corbyn really lovely & genuine. Lemmy from Motörhead was great fun but absolutely blotto!

Margaret thatcher poked my dad with an umbrella because she wanted his window seat on the train. This was before she was PM, she was Education secretary at the time.

Stood behind Bill Oddie at a Pret a Manger once. Rude.

I would agree, DH meet him and the rest of the goodies once he said they were all miserable. Nick Lyndhurst is lovely, quite shy. Meet Eamonn Holmes, when walking into Harrods, a few years ago, surprised how short he was.

Meowandthen · 12/03/2023 18:48

One brief meeting is hardly an indication of personality. Everyone has odd days and if someone has been bothered 20 times that day, I understand them being fed up.

I have known, socialised with, and worked with numerous famous people ( not reality TV wannabes) and most are pretty normal. I am not going to name names as I don’t do that kind of thing to people I know. It’s not nice to slag someone off publicly when you bumped into them once.

My sole exception to this rule is Andi Oliver who is truly a deeply unpleasant human being.

Crystal8559 · 12/03/2023 18:49

Johnny Vegas was the worst, told my class of 7year olds to F**k off, only 11 kids & all well behaved, he was at Xscape filming a tv ad, this was before filming started so they hadn’t interrupted. Absolutely awful man.
Darius was lovely, met him at The Lowry when my 4 year old recognised him sitting at breakfast and wanted to say hello, I said no as he was eating so to wait, he immediately came over and knelt on the floor beside her to have a chat, he even let her sing for him and sang with her, quietly but it made her day! So sad he’s not with us anymore.

Dh worked with Lenny Henry and said he was lovely, Dawn French not so much!

Dsil worked with Kylie Minogue and said she was wonderful.

I met Jack Dee once in a cafe and he was as grumpy as he always seemed on tv!

Jack Dee used to come into the cafe I worked in - he was always rude.

Isn't she Miquita's mum? Sounds like it might be a family 'thing'.

GoodChat · 12/03/2023 18:57

The physicist @dittbtdity

Scotslass171 · 12/03/2023 18:59

I did wonder if Jane McDonald was as nice as she came across on telly. Thought what you saw was what you got.

Scotslass171 · 12/03/2023 19:02

Met Donald dewar (late Scotland 1st minister/mp) as he was my local mo and he was really nice but quite quiet. (Awful taste in clothing tho)!!!!

Alwaystheplusone · 12/03/2023 19:05

Nicest = Helen McCrory
Nastiest = Paul O’Grady

Yes. The daughter is an entitled brat.

Scotslass171 · 12/03/2023 19:06

Someone I used to know went to acting classes with Natalie robb from Emmerdale before she got famous and was known better in Scotland from being in Take the High Road and he said she was quite up herself

JaffaCake70 · 12/03/2023 19:07

My DH met Lionel Blair in Vision Express, said he was lovely, warm and welcoming.

DH also met Bez twice. Once in B&Q, and once at a Happy Mondays concert where Bez asked my DH to swap T shirts. DH was wearing a Keith Moon and Oliver Reed T shirt, Bez took this and gave DH an anti war charity T shirt.... DH wants his T shirt back 😂

Bez was lovely but off his face as was the norm back in the day.

There's video footage of Bez on YouTube wearing both T shirts in one concert 😂
