Nicest/not nice celebs.

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 11:58

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

She’s stunning and just one of the nicest people I have ever met - celeb and non celeb. I was lucky

putchyrsg · 11/03/2023 17:35

Anyone met the Kardashian's? I'd be keen to know what they are like in RL

Crikeyalmighty · 11/03/2023 17:52

@Shufflebumnessie Ha, no- I was more fascinated at listening to his anti foreigner pro Brexit bullshit. I was busy thinking if only we could export arrogant talentless knobs like him!!

Highfivemum · 11/03/2023 18:23

Kyle is lovely. Down to earth. So pretty and genuine.
As I said previous David Jason is quiet and so sweet. Dedicated actor and just normal.
one of my best friends is very famous and I have heard people say he can be off sometimes. He is the most kindest people you could meet but obviously like most of us we are human and so isn’t 100 percent happy all the time. So if he ever is off I can assure you it isn’t personal just sometimes needs a little peace and quiet.

JMSA · 11/03/2023 18:35

I'm losing track of who is talking about which celebrity, when they tag others further down and don't make reference to the celeb Grin

Lizzieee2727 · 11/03/2023 18:38

Met Olivia Colman when filming Broadchurch - she was genuinely lovely and chatty.

Met Frank Bruno at his book signing and he laughed at me shaking because I was so excited to meet him, gave me a massive hug!

When I was 6/7 I was singing in the church choir for a Noels House Party Christmas special, he bought my Dad a pint when filming wrapped. 20 odd years later I served him in TK Maxx and he was definitely smarmier than I remembered.

Also served Katie Hopkins at the same store not long after her descent into peak nastiness and she got p1ssy at me for not recognising her and opening a new till for her. I knew who she was, I just didn't care enough!

Kenny Dalglish and hus wife were really lovely when we interrupted his coffee.

DD was graduating and he was getting an honorary doctorate. She is a huge Liverpool fan and it made her day.

Both Kenny and his wife are gems.

I'm going to go with actress Fay Ripley for my "nicest" choice.

Met her at the stage door after a Kerry Jackson performance in January. I didn't have to ask for a photo since she offered one (she joked that she could tell I was thinking it from how I was holding my phone!). Then when I mentioned how much I loved watching Meg & Mog as a child she did Meg's voice which genuinely made my year night! I was amazed she could still do it perfectly after 20 years (and being on stage for 2-3 hours!). Lovely woman.

Never met a not so nice celeb, but the only other famous people I've spoken to have been the Red Dwarf crew (met Danny John-Jules, Hattie Hayridge, Norman Lovett and Paul Jackson at a con in 2021).

I was behind David Ross at hospital a couple of years ago, he seemed a lovely chap and was having a right old natter to the car park bloke!

Lizzieee2727 · 11/03/2023 18:42

She used to be the Chancellor of Exeter University and delivered amazing speeches at graduation, everyone crossing the stage had a hug if they wanted and she was just really inspiring.

Wow the original Kryten!! Very cool! Seems like a lovely bloke from interviews

DragonflyLady · 11/03/2023 18:50

Just seen a post that reminded me that I met Stuart Maconie and he was just lovely.

Also had a fab night of drinking and singing with Keith Allen.

neilyoungismyhero · 11/03/2023 18:59

My DH and tiny toddler DD met the divine Barry Sheen some years ago. He started talking about his kids and said how adorable our DD was. Lovely guy.

No, it was 1993 (?) at the opening of the Virgin shop, bottom of Northumberland Street. He handed me a Virgin Big Red Mug.

We are in the same neck of the woods!

David Ross owner of carphone warehouse? Multi academy trust? Trustee of national picture gallery?

Hmm.
My DH first met him when they were both teens and have met him many time over past 15 years and have heard many more stories.

Grin that's a good answer for the "Do you know who I am"? one .

Instead of "There's a slightly confused man here who doesn't know who he is , anyone know him" ? you can answer "Yeah but I just don't care enough"

Emotionalsupportviper · 11/03/2023 19:36

Gargantuaetpantagruel · 11/03/2023 09:40

@Wilkolampshade What an awful way to describe one of the Hairy bikers. I don't know which one you mean as I don't think either of them are "ugly"! Unlike your comment.

Obviously the two of you like different types.

I think they're both . . . less than handsome.

No, of Red Dwarf.

A friend worked as part of the production team on the play The Blue Room, years ago, when Nicole Kidman was in it. She said she was very shy but absolutely lovely to everyone. Apparently she bought sushi in for everyone quite regularly. Also, I met Rupert Penry Jones years ago - friend of a friend. I didn't know who he was but I'd already spotted him at the party as he honestly had this kind of glow/aura around him (wierd I know, but I was instantly like "who is that guy?" and he's really not my type.) He was absolutely lovely. So friendly and down to earth.

Zone2NorthLondon · 11/03/2023 21:28

Nellieinthebarn · 10/03/2023 15:00

Will someone please confirm that David Tennant is lovely...and don't if he isn't.

Utterly charming, and attentive to my kids who were impressed that he is hairy mclairy

Kindofthisnotthat · 11/03/2023 22:01

Peter Kay - good friend had personal work dealings with him, extremely rude.
Keir Starmer nice guy, picked my coat up from the floor.

Clawdy · 11/03/2023 22:47

Paul McCartney, down-to-earth, delightful and kind.
Maureen Lipman, funny and friendly.
Pat Phoenix (many years ago!) charming but could be a bit of a diva!

NewCarOldCar · 11/03/2023 23:52

Wonder why OP got a slating for saying Sarah Harding was mardy and diva-ish, but other dead celebs also getting a slating on here (Geoffrey Palmer and Robbie Coltrane - and Cilla always gets a thumbs down) are fair game??

Pretty hypocritical

Emotionalsupportviper · 12/03/2023 08:33

@NewCarOldCar - agree.

I always think that if you aren't prepared to see your favourites revealed as having feet of clay then you should't read this type of thread.

It really pees me off when I see "OH - that's SO unkind!' "What if heir families are reading this thread?", ""They aren't here to defend themselves" etc

Tough - the thread is the thread, and if you don't like what you read just say you disagree. People often do.. But don't complain because others' opinions differ from yours.

Shitsandwiches · 12/03/2023 09:22

Couldn't agree more. My FIL was an ok person at times, but could be an absolute bastard who did and said some horrible things. When he died, were we supposed to elevate him to Martyr status and gaslight ourselves that he was faultless, out of 'respect for the dead'. No. We certainly don't sit around slagging him off every day, but you also can't deny experiences you had with a person or the way they made you feel. And you shouldn't either.

People lose family every day who they had complicated relationships with, and when a celebrity dies and are risen to faultless national treasure status, positive stories only, it can bring up very difficult feelings for people.

I'm sure Cilla's sons had their fair share of moments with her behind the scenes!

Rupert Penry-Jones is my secret crush 😻 and he’s nothing like the type of man I’d usually go for 🤣
